"Oh you will. I'm sure of it. Some missions involve dealing with them directly. And uh. They're kinda further away than you think. No monsters on the island. Nope. Well... there was that time the giant ninja invaded but I don't think he was the same as the rest. Kinda weird. Strange occurrence all around. Not really sure what the hell happened there really," Deryk mused while thinking back.
What the hell was he? And the old lady for that matter. It was obvious they weren't human but...
Eh. Oh well.

"Only some of the missions? Oh, thank god!" Jason brightened up at this prospect. So far, he was lead to believe that they would be fighting them at any given opportunity. But if only some of the missions this was the case, perhaps he would rarely get to see them?
...It could happen
"wait a moment..." The traine said when he realized what Deryk had said. "You guys fought... a giant ninja? What would....a ninja be doing here?" He paused again. "...do they have ninjas in halloween?"
It was also a interesting image, seeing Deryk in his outfit fight off a ninja. It also made him wonder if there were pirates too.

"Well not all missions require combat. Some are surveillance missions. Others retrievals. Please don't try to use your weapon against locals during the survey ones. Especially if they're human," Deryk frowned towards the end of that, recalling how his mission in China went. It probably would have gone more smoothly if Justin hadn't literally pulled aggro for the group.
In a mission where they weren't supposed to be fighting anyone, let alone the local farmers. Human farmers.
"I.. actually don't think the ninja was from Halloween. I don't know what he was doing here really. Whole incident was really bizarre. Real. Bizarre."

Thinking about the different types of missions made Jason feel more like he was in a actual army camp, instead of a...a...
..Scratch that train of thought. He WAS in a army. He was a solider, although he really didn't feel like one.
He smiled awkwardly at Deryk's suggestion not to use his weapon against the locals. Judging from the guys look, he might be speaking from experience, but it boggled his mind as to why someone would want to pull their weapon on normal humans. "I'll keep that in mind when I'm on a mission" He replied, then thought for a moment
"How many creatures have you fought so far?" Jason then decided to ask, since they were on the subject.

Deryk had to think about that question for a moment or so. There were the shadowlings but he wasn't sure if he could really count those. And at that last incident there were a lot of creatures, but he really only attacked one of them. Hm.
"Uh.. Maybe around five so far. I think. Hadn't have much real combat experience yet you could say. More will come for sure. But for now, not that many."
The only one that was really worrisome to him anyway, was that giant creature in the sahara. THAT was really scary. The ones he saw in Halloween weren't nearly as bad as that one.

Really? Deryk hadn't had that much combat experience? The thought was slightly comforting to Jason, in a sense. He knew that the hunter in front of him was a senior one, and yet here was someone who might be almost as new to fighting as he was, and someone he could relate to.
Sorta.
"Yeah, you're right" He said to Deryk. "They'll be more chances...to fight them..." And of course, for him as well.
As he stood there, he them remembered something. "Have you. ever seen a giant horse?" He asked. "Like a really really big one, but with horns and wings."
