It was hard to ignore the tension in the surrounding lions' voices. Kayitz couldn't really understand why, though. In her eyes, all was decent, and was only getting better! She always preferred to be around others, and the fact that her mother had found more lions to interact with was extremely lucky. Her mood swayed a bit with a flick of the ears when her father was mentioned, a subject her mother almost never stopped breaching. Kayitz could tell from her mother's demeanor that she really missed him, but Kayitz found it strange that her mother dwelled on it so much. Of course, she was only a cub and didn't really know what it was like to lose someone, but could the world really be that bad? She shrunk behind her mother, ears cocked to listen further to the conversation between the adults. Although she really didn't like this kind of talk, she was morbidly curious about what it all meant.

Irit listened to the others as they argued the nature of a pride in general, but her focus wandered every faithfully away from the group. Away from the troubles that the pride brought. Hasan's shimmering transparent form stood so close, staring at her. His own attitude had been erratic since his death. And especially since she'd discovered the pride. His expression had constantly changed from loneliness to anger to frustrations to impatience. Irit was sure she knew how to solve those negative emotions. It was one of the few problems she felt she could solve since the pride started to breach the territory Hasan and Irit had claimed to start there family.
The thought of her family pulled her back to reality. Pulled her focus from Hasan and his expression changed again. Frustration it looked this time. But Irit needed to concentrate. She was with her daughters. And strangers. And her mind had been walking ever closer to Hasan.
Irit glanced back at her daughters. She been lost again. Kayitz and Ahava were the two closest. They could probably hear and understand everything. They didn't deserve hearing about the evils of the pride. But Irit wasn't strong enough to let them by her side. Not right now. Maybe later. When she needed to hunt again, she'd have to leave them, but for now she just wasn't strong enough.
"Resources are low. And I have cubs to care for. The pride does not care." Irit gestured toward the river. It was the only thing she could offer her new found allies. Why she saw them that way she didn't know. She didn't know them any better than the pride, but something - something pulled them here together. "Fish might be found in the river, if the pride hasn't already started harvesting them up stream."

xxxxxKaz bowed his head as everyone spoke, allowing himself to grow accustomed to being in such a large crowd. He loved not being alone. The company of others was keeping him sane. And, of course, the warning of the pretty lioness snapped him back to attention. So no one here liked the pride. It was strange, really, for them to all wander to the same place at the same time with a hatred for the same pride. In fact, it seemed a bit planned. But Kaz wasn't complaining. In fact, he was loving every second of it. The lioness that came with her cubs was the most interesting to him, simply because he could not fathom wandering around with cubs. He loved company, but cubs would be too much for him to deal with all the time. Yet the small one, Kayitz, made him smile as she hid behind her mother. He flicked his tail toward her and smiled as kindly as he could, trying to reassure her that all was just fine. He never claimed that he wasn't a liar, after all.
xxxxxHe could hardly help but frown again as Irit spoke of the pride once more. They all truly hated the En Gedi, and it was just too odd. "We would all be better if the pride vanished." Kafziel lifted his head high and pulled his shoulders back - his normal standing position. He liked to appear as though he was powerful, even if he hardly ever came out to be that way. He really just wanted to be noticed among the others. In all honesty, Kaz knew very little about the pride he hated so much. He knew the name of them, but that was all. Although it would be very smart to learn more about them, getting too close was just not an option to him.

Zoura's maw tightened into a grimmace as the others voiced their complaints regarding the pride. Apparently, it had caused enough strife for the rogues around it to create a problem. A problem that she and the other two at her side were feeling more and more invested in. Perhaps it was irrational, but they were completely beside themselves with exhaustion and fatigue from the long road that all sense felt newly muddled.
"Seems there's only one course of action then. Unless you're fond of starving- something needs to be done about them."
Chizoba and Zabra's brows creased and both nodded their agreement.
"If they're new they've not yet found a foothold. If you want to get rid of a weed you pull it before it takes root..."

"You can count us in." The brash male voice rang as he walked away from his sister. If there was one thing he was good at, it was excelling. He grinned, flicking his tail that hit his ankles.
"I'm pretty good at ridding myself of weeds." His tone was sure of itself.. He was obviously cocky. His sister rolled her eyes, stepping towards the group, and closer to her brother. She was a spitfire, just as her pelt would make one think. She was not about to be shown up by her brother.
"He means we." She said, and sent a glare to her brother that had him look away. "He's a moron and it's a better idea to discuss things with me. Just so we are clear."
He growled, and looked at her again. His own glare eminating from his eyes.
"Shut up." She growled, opening her maw to bare her fangs.
"So when do we start pulling weeds?"

Kayitz's ears twitched, and realizing that she shouldn't be listening in on this conversation she fled behind a large rock. Even though she knew it was wrong, she continued listening in, nearly gasping at the adults' words. They wanted to oust the pride? In no way did that seem fair or just. Simply because they were starving wasn't a good reason to attack a pride who'd claimed the lands as their own and were utilizing them as so! It would be completely unjust for this group to try and drive the pride off the lands, but wasn't it really the only option? It would take a lot of traveling to come upon any prey, and most of them were exhausted and starving already. Also, Kayitz and her sisters wouldn't make it in that sort of journey, and their momma couldn't leave them alone! But was this really the only way? Kayitz shook her head, feeling an ache coming on.

Ahava stood devastated at the conversation at hand. Didn't SHE and her ma have enough to worry about. Ahava's brain went haywire in worry. She would have to help feed more mouths. The young Juve was always on a constant with the want and wishes to keep her family well fed and alive.
When Kayitz fled, she felt the worry go away and the wish to be with her sister and give her some support in thought rush over her. The same thought process hit Ahava's mind. Was it fair to do what their mother and the others were planning to do? Was it fair that this pride was taking the resources from the rogues around them? Or so that is how her mother made this pride seem. She had been behind that weary set of paws since papa died. She really hadn't seen her mother go and watch this pride and see where they were coming from.
Now is no time to be contemplating what mama thinks is right. Ahava moved to join her sister's side and head but her shoulder; just gently. "What's wrong?" She would ask her sister when they were gone from the group. A more.. calmer vocal came from Ahava; something not like her. She was usually in fits when her sisters were in some sort of slight trouble.

Ahava spooked Kayitz, and she jumped, eyes wide. Almost immediately she covered it up with a hearty laugh. "Oh, nothing, 'hava!" Grinning at her sister, Kayitz quickly racked her brain for something clever to say. She couldn't reveal that she was a slight bit worried about the situation and the fairness of it all; she had to cover it up. It was best to keep everyone in as good of spirits as they possibly could be in such a situation. After a moment she spat out: "I'm just afraid with everyone standing around we're wasting perfectly valuable hunting time!" Kayitz crouched, wiggling her butt as if she was coming upon a piece of prey, quickly falling over in laughter, pawing at Ahava's legs. "C'mon, 'hava! Everything's fine. We should go back to the others!" She flicked her tail in the direction of their other two sisters, already up and walking her way over. Remembering herself, she turned around, her expression impatient but amused. "Well?" Swishing her tail once more, she pounced off to join her others sisters, attempting to forget about all that she had to conceal.

Ahava watched her sister calmly as Kayitz played it off. When she toppled over Ahava lowered her ears slightly. When Kayitz said something about 'valuable hunting time', Ahava's heart felt heavy. She knew her sister was lying. "Everything's fine?" She said mockingly. But before she could even think to say what was in her heart and on her mind, she was imaptiently prompted to go see the other two sisters. Instead she watched her younger sister bound off. Closing her odd eyes for a moment she huffed and moved to find her sisters. Looking back to her mother for a moment, she shook her head and kept moving.

Phase End If you still need a few posts to count this towards getting a pridal cert feel free to continue! I'll soon be posting the pridal rp for the in-pride members to respond to the sudden activity at the border. The incoming rogues will find themselves feeling more and more drawn to action against the local pride as they allow their emotions to take control of themselves. This may boarder on irrational as things progress. remember that Nelly's curse will wear off once the plot comes to a close. :3

When Kayitz and Ahava skittered away to hide behind a rock, Irit growled at the foul language that had sent them into hiding. Allies or not, those were her daughters, her and Hussan's."Please do be careful with the language you choose to use in front of my cubs." Irit moved to block her girls just a little bit more."But as for the weeding, I've been putting traps around the area. Nothing's been captured yet. At least nothing that's not edible. Everything edible I bring to the girls. They need to eat.
"I'll continue to set and check the traps. Whatever the girls don't eat, I'll set out for you, but that's still not much. From the tops of the cliff, its easy to watch the pride. But I have no idea how to weed them out, how to make them move on."

With that said, and her stance on both the pride and her new allies, dirty mouthed, or not, firm, Irit started to herd her daughters back to the den. The pride wouldn't know what hit them and her revenge for the loss of Hussan would help appease him. Of course, Irit knew, Hussan wanted her at his side, but with the pride gone, she hoped he wouldn't be as insistent as he had been.
She could set up traps that would both catch the pride members unaware, maybe help her catch some prey, and protect her cubs. If she set them up right. But they wouldn't get set up here, and not with the girls in close proximity. So Irit needed to set them up in their den. She didn't think they would wonder far from the den. At least not yet. And she would have to remind them later, not to go wondering until the pride left the area.
"Come along, girls. Time to go back home.
