Drashi didn't look away this time as Connor asked him more and more questions. But for some reason all Drashi could do was think unspeakable things... NO! He chastised himself, perhaps he should force himself for a run as he always did. His mind distracted caused him to blink with a blank expression on his face as he came back to reality. "Eh.... nope....and...." He frowned, he had always found it best NOT to draw attention to what he was, showing Connor went against everything he had learnt but he had also known it was likely the quickest way to gain his acceptance of the term 'other'... the issue? Not everyone was as accepting of their mixed blood. And Drashi didn't want to become some lab experiement somewhere.

Maybe that was why he was on his feet again. Maybe that was why he found himself walking towards Connor once more. Reaching for him. His hand moving closer and closer to the lads cheek before ran it up and down the bone there. Such beautiful features, a perfect specimen of his kind... or at least Drashi suspected as such, who would want to go near an ugly Incubus after all? And ugly angel? Well that was just irrelevent.... after all he had often heard the expression 'a face only a mother could love'. Drashi had no idea if he was ugly or not, nor did he care. He was what he was. A broken creature.

Still, as he touched Connor he felt something him in sigh in relief, as if this was the only thing in the world that was true and right and good. His light blue eyes practically glowed as he captured Connors chin once more and pulled him towards him..... his lips touched Connors softly, and for the briefest moment he allowed himself to indulge in the softness, the innocence of them...... until he caught himself. As if on fire he jumped back. Panting as he spoke, "Sorry... I.... don't know what came over me."

Connor watched Drashi hoping for some answers to his questions even if the other only pointed him in the direction of someone else. Unsure what to makes of the blank expression on the others face as he questioned him. Disappointment was apparent when Drashi answered him. He was stuck to discover what his new found heritage had to offer. It scared the boy.

Connor looked up as he heard the other approach. Seeing a hand reaching for him had Connor shutting his eyes tightly unsure what to expect. The soft stroking of his cheek had him relaxing into the touch and opening his eyes to look at the man. Something within him felt much better with the touching, green eyes answered the glow in Drashi’s but softer in intensity.

Chin lifted once more Connor could only anticipate what the other would do. The kiss was soft and too quick for what his body craved but a soft positive noise escaped the boy’s throat. When the other jumped back confusion flooded through Connor once more. “You feel the thing too? The thing that makes people want me?” Connor questioned. He felt distress rise up within him, could he ever have a normal relationship with someone he liked. It seemed like he could get what he wanted but did the other want it?

Drashi frowned at those words... for some reason he wanted to deny them, tell Connor it wasn't true.... part of him needed to, to regain the control that was slipping, to regain the stoic nature he had built up over the years! How could he suddenly find himself broken down, and after such a short amount of time. The power of an Incubus was legendary.... yet even as he thought that something he had heard came tumbling back. 'Incubi only attract Angels if they want to be attracted' He turned and placed his hand on top of the book he had been pretending to read earlier... could he hope for as much? Or was he simply kidding himself? Clinging to a fragment of hope that said he wasn't losing it!

He fisted his hand, and a growl of frustration escaped his lips.... still he forced himself to calm down as he turned back towards Connor. "I don't know what to say....." He hated that he was making the lad uncomfortable, even if there was only a few years in difference between them. Defeated he looked to the ground. "....sorry." He knew what it was like to have his heart handed to him, his feelings shattered for another pride.... what happened to sticking together? What happened to partners to the end? Was there even such a concept? Plus, Drashi would never expect the Incubus beside him to actually ever see Drashi as such a thing anyway, he was pretty sure it was in the nature of pure Incubi to flirt and have their way with anything that walked, anything to keep themselves well charged and alive.... was Connor any different?

Confusion flooded his mind. What should he do? Maybe he should request a transfer? That was when he turned to Connor again, "Why were you assigned to this room?" Since he had arrived here he had never shared a room... why now? And in that moment Drashi couldn't shift the impression that something else was in play here.

Connor felt the long pause and feared more than ever that he was right. He would never have a true relationship if even an angel was attracted to him because of the signal his body sent out. When the man growled in frustration Connor winced fearing he had angered the man. He could only nod with he other’s words and then apology.

Connor stood up intending to leave the room and try to sort his thoughts when the other questioned why he had been assigned this room. “I-I don’t know. The paper with my room number was handed to me when I arrived at the school along with my schedule.” Connor said more confused. “If you want I’ll make a request for a transfer since I’m affecting you.” He offered.

"I'm...gonna go for a walk. I'll leave the room to you." Connor spoke softly. "I'll see about finding somewhere else to sleep too. That way you won't have to worry about me affecting you."

Drashi should have felt relieved at Connors request... but if anything he felt the opposite. Before he even realised he had moved he had hold of Connor's forarm and was tugging him towards his still bare chest. He held him. Silent for a long while as he simply enjoyed the warmth and brief connection. He lowered her head so his chin rested on the thick mane of hair. "Don't." It was in that moment he realised the truth.... he would have liked Connor even without the allure.... that had simply sped up his reaction to him. "Don't leave." He said again, trying to find the words to express what he wanted without revealling too much... or was it already too late for that?

And so Drashi simply continued to hold Connor, willing to let him go without a fight should he try to pull away. Drashi was not a monster.

Connor had turned to leave when he felt the grip around his forearm and the sudden tugging. Being hugged against the other’s firm and bare chest was surprising and yet calming. He relaxed against the other and more of the anxiousness he felt melted away. When Drashi told him not to leave he couldn’t have been more surprised. Connor returned the embrace feeling relief of not being exiled once more. Even if Drashi and him hadn’t been friends or anything before the place had still become like home. Having to move again would have been hard.

“Thank you…” Connor breathed. “I know you feel attraction to me because of whatever and I don’t know if the same rule might apply to me but I like you.” Connor admitted.

Drashi hissed in a breath at how simply those words were spoken... he would have been like that once he realised, had been like that.... had given himself freely only to be betrayed and abadoned for doing nothing wrong other than express his affection. Yet, it soothed a part of him that he hadn't realised was still on fire within him, he was pretty sure there was little emotion left in his heart... how could there be.... he had stitched the bleeding muscle back together and hoped for the best, knowing it would never and could never be whole again.

He continued to remain silent, simply listened to Connor's breathing, felt it on his chest, he listened to the soft banging of his heart..... "I...." Part of him wanted to tell Connor of the rumour he had heard... but what if that offered the lad false hope? What if it only drove them closer together for a time before Connor realised he could have anyone he wanted....? To be rejected and betrayed again? Drashi knew his heart would not take it.

Yet again he found his hand moving to capture Connor's chin, pulling his eyes up so he could look down into them. Green. Soothing and vast like the forest Drashi enjoy wandering through. So opposite to his own. Earth and Heaven. Fitting given their classifications.

Before he had even realised he had spoken the words spilled out; "I was told once... that the power of a Incubus..." and Sucubus for that matter, "...only affects an Angel if deep down they want it to." He frown as he realised what he was saying and quickly added, "I know not if this is true." There... no more secrets, on that topic at least.

Connor waited for some sort of response without a word resting against the other listening to the other’s heart as the man as it beat. The one word out of Drashi’s mouth had Connor looking up with hope. Even if the other didn’t feel the same he just hoped he wasn’t rejected because of his feelings. His chin captured he held the gaze offered in those searching blue eyes.

When words spilled from Drashi, Connor couldn’t believe what he was hearing. “So you might just like me or want this? I might have a chance at a normal relationship with this?” Connor said hope flooding through him. “I need to find someone who knows more about this but that makes me happy.” He spoke smiling softly.

He couldn’t believe it, he might have a normal life even as an incubus if all this worked. It sounded like Drashi might like him if the thrall worked on the angel. He would only need to watch out for other people which he was already doing and himself. Himself he worried about, he knew nothing about what he was. “Who told you that information? Can we, you or I find them?”

Drashi nearly winced at Connor's choice of words.... 'I might have a chance at a normal relationship with this'... it made it sound to Drashi's ears that Connor was more interested in finding someone else than sticking with him, not that he could exactly blame him... they had been here for what, months? And today was the first time Drashi had actually spoken to the guy.

He forced himself not to linger on his darkening thoughts, reminding himself that walking along that path would cause his feathers to leave him... and an Angel without their feathers became a heartless Demon. Drashi didn't want that. Compassion for the weak was all he had left.

"No." He regretted the sound of the word, and the harshness on his tongue like acid. Still, Drashi had no intention of seeking the one who had given him the scroll, or the others he had gathered information from over the years. It was too dangerous... still.. Drashi had an idea. "But.... I think there may be another of your kind at the school." It only then occured to him that Connor may not have realised what Drashi had suspected for a while now... everyone at this school was 'other'.

Connor looked confused when the other winced. What had he said that would cause such a reaction? Quickly he tried to review in his mind what he had said. He was broken from his thoughts and flinched with the harsh tone. “There’s another of my kind here? Do you think they will know about this, have they already gone through it?” Connor questioned. “How would we find this other person?” he asked.

Prospects of finding someone that could explain excited the boy. If he knew what he was going into then he could better pursue the relationship, even if it was a small slight one between him and Drashi. “Will you help me find and talk to them?” he questioned.

Drashi nodded, "I believe so." He released Connor then, feeling somewhat uneasy in himself. He took the few steps that would allow him to reach his bed, and sat down again, once more putting his elbows on his knees. "I will help... but be warned.... it is believed that Incubus are very territorial... so they may not enjoy your presence here, especially if you are..... awakening." He said, due to a lack of other words to use to describe how Connor was feeling.

Part of Drashi scolded himself, how dare he try to help someone? No one had ever really helped him... he was constantly betrayed, constantly left behind.... constantly on his own. Or was that simply his own doing?

He frowned and looked to the hint of the bookmark that was in his book. It was all he had left of his sister. It was made from the picture she had hidden in her jacket.....

Connor took a step back to look at the other as he was released but Drashi walked to his bed. “So this could be bad for me to be here because I’m awakening?” Connor questioned. Now everything was beginning to sound bad. If the other incubus wouldn’t help him he would be back to square one. Connor shook his head taking a calming breath.

“Okay so they may not like me but that’s a chance I have to take if I ever want to have a relationship right?” he asked. “Where do you think they are?” he asked wanting to be done as quickly as he could.

Drashi fisted his hand again and turned away from the book. It hurt him more than anything else..... the memory of his fallen sister. "It is your choice to make." Was all he said before falling silent again.

The silence stretched between them until finally Drashi spoke up, still he didn't get up off the bed. "I can not be sure, I have always avoided others... but I do not believe his dorm to be far." Part of Drashi couldn't believe how much he was speaking, it had been years since he had held an actual conversation outside of his medical courses needs.

Unsure what else he could do or say Drashi reached for the only words that came to mind, "Would you like to go now?"

Connor watched the man a bit his bottom lip to keep from prying about the book. What was he to say to the other. “Neither of us seem to deal well with people, now I know why I don’t though.” Connor said with a half hearted laugh.

“Please if that would be alright with you. The sooner I figure everything out, the sooner I can make decisions about my life.” Connor stated with a bit of relief. He wanted to know what he was in for. He wanted Drashi to be there too so he too could know what would happen in the future if they ended up in a serious relationship like Connor hoped,

Drashi didn't comment on Connors words, how could he? He had spent his entire life trying not to reveal too much, trying to keep himself at a distance from everything and everyone one. Yet, even as he sat there he got a bad feeling... and not just because of the way Connor looked at him, it was more than that, deeper....

Shaking his head he stood up and walked to his shirt before tugging it back into place, he then picked up his ribbon; he never left without it, though the reason why was a secret he held tightly to his chest; not wanting to mess with it right now he tied it on his left arm like he did when he was in uniform at the hospital. It felt weird for it be on the outside of his clothing while on his arm but he would deal with that, he was simply happy to have it with him.

Turning to Connor he simply said, "Come on then." Before heading for the door. He didn't touch Connor as he opened it and walked into the hall.... didn't want to give Connor a reason to betray him, it had happened before.... affection was ok behind closed doors, but in public? It was a totally different story... a shame, he had never cared before.
