"You have to just do it. I was nervous too," Taryn nodded. Granted, she had only wanted to speak to one of them and had ended up with the whole gang thrown at her. Thank God Chuppi hadn't been there, what with the yelling that had occurred. "They're worried about you too, you know. You should check in with them." Granted, Chuppi hadn't even really come to check in with her. In fact, it seemed as if she'd wanted to make a break for it.
"Wait... what do you mean, someone to lean on like them?"

"Errr....a love, maybe? Like to lean on for support of both physical and emotional. Alex and Yin are mates, right?" Chuppi didn't really know the word for boyfriend or girlfriend since well, they didn't have those words in her language. They did but they didn't, not in a manner of speaking, since her parents were never introduced as husband or wife - just as 'mates'. Husband and wife, boyfriend or girlfriend, words she didn't know and would never use. "Sometimes then, I am wishing I could have a strong mate for support." There, she could properly explain what she meant that way, right? It never hurt to try and it was easy enough to do once she got going.
At the mention though of checking in with the others Chuppi paled again but she kept her mouth shut to prevent the crying she wanted to do. Taryn was looking uneasy and her crying would make it worse she staying quiet was a good thing and well she could keep talking, right? "I. . . I am afraid they could be mad at me for talking. Mort heard me yes, say things? Plus Alex and Yin. . . . " She didn't want to interfere, but it sounded like all she was doing was making an excuse.

The ghoul just burst out laughing.
"Alex and Yin? Yeah, I heard the word 'boilfriend', so it's official," Taryn nodded enthusiastically, "Mort, though?! I don't think Mort has anything like that. Neither do I. I just have friends, and so do you. Roch would be willing to help you through anything." Yeah, but she wasn't about to talk about him. "Either way, nobody's going to hold your talking against you. It was pretty clear that the Hunter was in control. Honestly, it sounds like you don't want to talk to them." The chimera arched a brow and tilted her head slightly.

"It was like there was a drum in my head, the back of the head area and it beat hard. When I talked the beating didn't hurt my ears, when I was quiet it was loud and painful." The little monster didn't quite understand the meaning of the word compulsion but at least she was able to properly describe it and not panic while doing so. Baby steps, and talking with someone, seemed to really be helping her out. "Even when I bit tongue, to choke and die from blood, I could only keep talking. I could not even swallow or try and gag." She opened her mouth and pointed to her tongue where small red welts were healing. While they obviously weren't from the trial, all of that hadn't been real, it was proof that Chuppi had been testing out that biting her tongue really could be done.
It was also interesting to note that Chuppi's tongue was long and thin, very much like a serpents rather than a dog or any other animal.

Taryn winced. That was a hell of a way to go, although if there was any time to try it it'd be while spewing traitorous secrets. Of course, there had been no secrets, only information and lies. There was no reason to be mad at Chuppi for being taken-over, and certainly even less when it hadn't even been reality.
"I understand," the taller ghoul nodded, "I'm not sure that's a way you can go, though, with a tongue like that. Granted, I don't think you should try it either way."

"Oh....really?" Maybe that was why she hadn't been able to die on her own terms - Chuppi had never really thought of that. She stuck her tongue out and looked at it, the marks clear from where her sharp teeth had managed to snag a few chunks, and she gingerly touched it with the tip of her finger. "I had not taken the time to think of it that way."
It was amazing how easily Chuppi was calming down now, how less panicked and worried she was since the pair had started talking. Perhaps it was because she now knew that no one was mad or perhaps it was because everyone needed someone to talk with - they didn't need to just stand around alone and sulk on it. "I am sorry for acting so pushy and weird - I have been too emotional." Thankfully she was open to admitting it and even understood that she was.

Taryn nodded, and then in a display of contradiction shook her head.
"It happens to everyone," she reassured the ghoul. It was good to see her relaxing, to see her calming about the entire situation. Perhaps she was a good influence, for once? If poor Chuppi needed some more talking time, she could at least offer that.

"No no, I must say I am sorry. I. . . " Chuppi could easily use the excuse that she was younger than everyone and therefore didn't understand as much as they did, or take things as well as they did, but she steered away from it to the best of her abilities. "I was of the naive for acting so silly during all the trials. We are okay, everyone came out, but here I am sulking for myself only. I must say again how sorry I am."
Maybe it would be a good idea for her to go and try to see the others? It never hurt to meet and speak with them and feel better in the end.

"Well, we'll have another chance with the classes coming up. Maybe," Taryn nodded, and Windham began flailing in her arms. She put him down and thrust a thumb over her shoulder. "Hey, I should get going. If you need anything, don't hesitate to call me. I'm in room 316, if you'd rather it be in-person." The ghoul took out her ancient phone then and motioned with it, smiling slightly.
"Can I get your number?"
