"Ghouls slap boils quite often." Alex pointed out, still genuinely confused about where this conversation might be going. But the way Roch was continuing on with the subject, Alex was getting the feeling that this wasn't just some kind of quarrel between a ghoul and a boil.
"Well, then it makes sense that it would upset you for somebody to slap your friend in such a way, of course. But not everyone shares the same views, and many students have different cultural backgrounds where such things might not be considered as offensive?" He just...didn't even know where this could be going. His curiosity was starting to get the better of him though, and he found himself wondering who it could be that Roch was talking about. Which of his friends were slapped and by who?
"What did your friend do to make this other student slap him or her? I'm not trying to say it was justified, but you have me curious now."

"His ghoulfriend broke up with him because he called her stupid," Roch summed up. "Now I know he needs hit for that, but he don't need hit in that way by that person, understand? That person's got no say in their relationship. Relationships are personal, y'know?"
Which was a conclusion he had come to after a LOT of thinking and a bit of experience. "I got a bit more pissed off than I should have," he said quietly. "But I ain't sure I'm any happier with the guy after thinkin' all this stuff out."
Then he started playing again.

Ok, Alex felt like he was a little more caught up now then he had been before. So Roch's friend called his ghoulfriend stupid (which, incidentally, Alex didn't think was a very nice thing to say), and said ghoulfriend then broke up with Roch's friend. Then some outsider who had no business getting involved in the affairs of the friend and his now ex ghoulfriend decided to slap Roch's friend for calling the ghoul, who was previously a ghoulfriend, stupid.
Gotcha.
Though for some reason Alex still felt like he was being lectured for something that he wasn't at all involved in, so he just nodded along with the other boil, eyes perhaps a little wider then usual. He was almost tempted to cry out "I swear I won't ever do it again!" even though he hadn't done anything to begin with.
So this brought it back to the beginning again in Alex's mind. What would he do, if the same thing happened to him? Well, it was highly unlikely Yin was ever going to get slapped in the face for calling a ghoul dumb and consequently having her break up with him..but what if it did happen. Alex shrugged.
"Ya, I guess I'd be pretty pissed off too!" He finally answered, as he listened to Roch play his guitar.

"Yeah," Roch said, sighing and watching the grass closely. They were creeping closer, his little fluffy guys. He wasn't quite sure what they were, but they were definitely his. "So... how long have you been at Amity?" he asked, changing the subject as if the whole conversation hadn't happened. "Long enough to be caught up in the fire, or just the genderbending haunted house thing?"

Alex shuddered, remembering all too well the first time he had dissipated at the school. "The fire, with the hunters at the weeping forest. That was in my first week at the school. I almost packed my bags and went home then but...I dunno, I didn't want to be a failure I guess." he was looking down at the ground now, his mind drifting along with the music Roch was playing.
"I'm the only one in my family, well out of my brother, sisters, and cousins, to come to Amity. Nobody thought it was a good idea for me to leave the horde, and it was hard but...." He shrugged, as though that explained everything.
His gaze lifted towards the little furry creatures who were making their way back towards the two boils. Well what do ya know? They had come back after all! He smiled a little, watching the two at play. "Do you think you'll be able to catch them?" He nodded towards the little fur balls.

"Sure I can," Roch said with a little grin. "They're simple things. A bit of food, a gentle sound, the promise of safety and love, it's not that hard to catch minipets. They're stupid," he summed up. "But it's possible that sort of stuff works with everyone, if you do it right," he told the other boil. "That's why this... whatever it is, is dangerous."
Of course it hadn't worked on Xiu. Maybe he could see her sometime and not have trouble...

Alex might need to remember all of this for the next time he went hunting. It would be much more ideal for the lazy zombie to have food just come wandering into his lap rather then having to go looking for it. He watched on with interest as the little critters began approaching ever closer and he may have unconsciously licked his lips, though he had no intentions of trying to devour them. He was honestly surprised that they were even approaching again. Most animals didn't like how he smelt and kept as far away as possible.
It was probably because of Roch's super incredible and dreamy guitar playing~
Food, gentle sound, safety and love. It sounded a lot like things one might do to gain a lover, really, and Roch said as much himself. "Ya, perhaps. Maybe I'll give it a try on somebody sometime." he gave a small half smile as he continued to watch the minipet's at play.

The little fluffls started playing again, wrestling happily with each other, having forgotten that they were in a somewhat dangerous position entirely. "It takes longer," Roch said quietly. "Maybe a week or two, even, just coming out here, letting them get used to me. Probably less with these two idiots," he added with quiet amusement. "I saw a video on it on bootube," he added. "I'm a city boil born and bred."
But he understood the concept extremely well, so he had started to implement it. He was good at it, too. "But it doesn't hurt that my own pets love when I play to them."

Two idiots indeed. Coming back a second time even with Alex so near them was not the smartest thing he'd ever seen an animal do. His instincts were nagging at him to attack the small fluffballs and eat them, but he knew that he wasn't really hungry (as much as he loved to eat) and that he could find something to hunt down later if this urge didn't go away.
"I'm not fast enough to catch things, so I usually hide and grab at them as they wander past. It's worked out well for me in the past, though I'm not usually trying to make friends with my dinner." He smirked.
"It seems like you have a good system here, but I'm afraid if I stay any longer I might ruin it for you. I should probably just go?" He wasn't sure if the purple haired boil wanted his company any longer. Not that he'd even been invited to begin with, really. Roch had just given him a lot to think about though, including why he was feeling so much more strongly towards a particular friend then he was a week ago.

"Sure, if you wanna," Roch said. He'd explained why he'd done it to the best friend, although not what he'd done and to whom. But it was good enough for him. Besides, he still had some thinking to do. Should he apologize to the guy just because he was a first year? Wasn't that just... pity given to the weak? He wouldn't have wanted it, himself. But the guy was a pal of Danny's.
But then again, Danny hated Edel and Edel was Roch's pal, so 'your friend is my friend' never applied to the two of them. "Bye," he added almost belatedly.
