Nahm grinned. They would find out, indeed.
Once they got out into the town, he led the way, taking the route he recalled from Roch's introduction; there werewolf bouncer was lounging at the top of the stairs, but he'd apparently been instructed to let them in, or he recognized Nahm, because he just grumbled and moved aside. Nahm glanced back briefly at his twin, then headed down the stairs and inside.
Chank was waiting inside, standing in the middle of the room with his arms crossed. "So. Boils. Do you have any idea what you've been called here for? Must say I'm surprised to find that you know some people down here already." He tilted his head at the two boils, eyes gleaming narrow in his hood.
"Friend of mine introduced me," Nahm said, squaring his shoulders stubbornly. "Sir."

Ahm had no problems following his twin as he tucked the route away for future reference; the werewolf bouncer that eyed them without giving off one of those "come closer and I'll tear your heart out and play it like a bagpipe" vibes was also tucked away. One never knew when one would see an ugly mug again..it was typically good to recall from where and when and with whom one was aquainted with any person. The elder Grue went down the stairs behind his brother, eyes taking in the whole visible area quickly to assess the situation as best he could.
"Not a clue," Ahm's teeth glinted in the lighting, but his demeanor was wary and he too stood straight. "Sir." An afterthought, almost. But at the very least the elder Grue did manage to put an appropriate amount of deference in the word - his head would probably not be removed from his shoulders tonight.

"Now, now, Chank, we're askin' them to do something dirty, you should lay off the boils," Vegas said, stepping out from behind the other male, his cigar clamped between his teeth. "Come on back to the back room, boils, we need some privacy for this little... discussion."
He motioned them forward, heading past the tables and looking at the skimpily dressed woman outside the door of the back room. "Monica, darklin, get the boils some juice, would you?"
"Okay! Oh, Nahm, how nice to see you again!" she said, with a brilliant smile. "I want to meet you, too!" she said to Ahm before running off to the casino's kitchen.

"Heheheheh. Can't tell me you wouldn't scare yours a little in the same position," Chank said. He turned and swept back into the back room. "C'mon, bratlings."
Nahm blinked. Wait, what? Their grandfather knew Roch's grandfather? That would explain why he'd asked about Nahm's clan the first time they'd met. He glanced at Ahm, flicking an ear and getting a contemplative look on his face. This was a side of the elder they hadn't seen much if at all. Then again, they weren't around the elders much back home at all, so maybe that wasn't so surprising. He shrugged one shoulder at his brother and followed Chank.

Nahm blinked and Ahm blinked twice, his mind clicking over the realization that their two clans had ties...and also that their grandfather was a bit of a prankster himself. So strange - but then, both boils had always avoided their elders to avoid punishments. He glanced over at his twin, returned the shrung and followed Chank as he was supposed to.
When he wanted to be, Ahm could be quite obedient.

"Not my grandkid," Vegas said. "He's already lookin' into long form wills. He's out to get the casino AND the bike," he said, almost proudly as he led them into the small room, heading for his chair at the back of the table. He pulled out a small computer, typing one fingered, but at a decent pace to bring up a picture. Then he turned the computer to show them it.
"This is Grimm's School for Troubled Reapers," he announced. "It's owned by an old... pal of Chank's and mine, a bit of an uptight b*****d, but hell, he's good at what he does. I sent Roch there to check it out."

"Smart boil. Hear that, you two? Planning ahead gets you places," Chank said. He picked his cigar back up and took a drag. "If you're smart about it. Takes brains to pull anything."
Nahm looked to Ahm again, surprised - had their grandfather just given them advice about their occasional less than legal activities? The twins would be talking this over later, that was sure. He cautiously approached the table to get a better look at the slaptop's screen. "Looks more like a prison," he said after a moment.

Ahm's lips curled, showing a little bit of fang; so, their grandfather was giving them advice? That was extremely interesting...the unspoken there was that if they planned ahead and were "smart about it" they could pull of their caper(s) without getting caught and/or punished.
Attention drawn to the image on the screen, Ahm grunted in agreement with his twin. "I'd wager that's what it's designed after." It would have been what he designed a "school for troubled anythings" after.

"Smart boils," Vegas said, turning the computer towards him and typing a bit more. He clicked the mouse and brought up a map. "This is the basic layout," he said, turning it to them again. "Main building, dorms, cafeteria, training grounds. It's not as big as Amity, but it's a decent sized campus. Here--"
He tapped on the main building, bringing up a room set up. "This is where the nullifier room is, it looks like. That's probably where you'll find the kid, unless they were stupid enough to send another kid in to feed him, that is."

Nahm studied the layout thoughtfully, eyebrows climbing up his forehead under the hood. So, that was the situation? Roch had got himself caught and locked in, and ... "What does the nullifier room do, exactly? If we're going to need to account for its effects, that is." He turned to give Vegas a long look, then transferred the look to his grandfather. "I'm assuming the job we're being called for is helping Roch get out, sir?"
His tail flicked twice, excitedly, before he controlled it.
Chank grinned toothily, letting a pleased expression settle on his face. "Think of it as an extracurricular activity. I know you boys specialize in stealth. It'll be good practice."

Ahm's glowing eyes focused on the map intently; this was the part where he excelled: remembering the layouts of things, plotting entry and escape routes - not to say that his twin wasn't good at it himself, but splitting the duties to suit each other's strengths made things just that much easier. "Bet it nullifies FEAR or something of the sort."
Helping break out a friend of his twin from a Reaper-Tween filled prison? Jacking Awesome.
"Yes, sir. Are there any other things we need to be aware of when infiltrating the campus?"

"Early morning seems to be their time for drills, so try to get there by then, five o'clock or so. Don't forget that the entire faculty is reaper, those bastards can be tricky," Vegas said, printing off one more picture and handing it over. "And stick to the sewers as much as you can."
He handed over a rough map of the tunnels under the school. "And yeah, you really think my kid wouldn't have bashed his way out if he had his guitar?" he added about the nullifier room with a snort.
"I brought the juice!" Monica called as she opened the door.
"Too late, they need to go," Vegas told her.
"Well you can drink it on the way, then!" she told the twins, holding out plastic cups.

Nahm took the pictures and map and studied them briefly, then handed them to his brother; when they worked together, Ahm had the plans and the routes. Nahm's half of the job would be taking care of of whatever obstacles they came across, animate or otherwise, and generally making sure Ahm could do his part without having to bother about annoying little things like locks and guards.
He nodded to Vegas, a grin appearing on his face. "That sounds like Roch," he agreed; a flick of his eyes to his twin conveyed the silent statement, you'll like this guy.
It was time to get this thing started, looked like. Nahm bowed his head respectfully to Chank; unexpectedly friendly or not, he was still their elder and grandfather, and the twins would earn themselves a good smacking if they got insolent. Anyway, now that he knew that the elder approved of at least some of their shadier activities, he wanted the old man's approval more than ever. "We'll get the job done, sir," he said to Chank and Vegas.
Monica got a big, friendly grin as Nahm took the cup. "Thanks! Sorry we can't stay," he chirped, and took a brief moment to appreciate her outfit on the way out. Always a bonus to get a look and a smile, really.
