Racheal Shanks Chipmunk Giggles91 I don't think you are understanding the point here, sex isn't a form of 'goods'. It isn't manufactured. It would essentially give the economy that extra push that would totally destroy it. Besides, prostitution would take all of the value of sex away. It would also give men- MARRIED men- the right to go out and have sex with a prostitute because his wife wasn't in the mood. Yes, it would still be wrong, but it would be legal. It would take away the value of LOVE. Love is being with someone you care about, someone you want to spend the rest of your life with. Someone you will eventually *in some cases* start a family with. Sex is supposed to be beautiful thing that two people who love each other do. It's REPRODUCTION. It isn't intended to happen just to make people feel good.
Someone women have no choice. Do you really think that is what someone would dream of doing when they are older? Having sex with whoever wants to have sex with you? No. The dream is to have a family, a nice house, a secure job that you can eventually retire from. Prostitutes become what they are because they can't find a job, or they are desperate for money. Fix the poverty and the economy, then see how many prostitutes will be walking the streets. The girls that DO choose to do it will most likely be in the porn industry. They can get more money for it (at least I think so) and they can become well known and even win awards. 1, They would get paid, this would get put back into the economy as they would be taxed for it. It is working in Amsterdam and I believe some other countries. Why the hell not? 2, MARRIED men have always, and will always go to prostitution. Legal or illegal they will. And so will women. Sex is often just for the hell of it. 3, I can tell you are severely Christian just from the whole reproduction thing, so arguing seems pointless. 4, Yes, you can retire from it. Yes, people would like to do it and many choose it and I personally don't see what is so wrong with that. It is there body, why don't they treat it the way they want to. I personally wouldn't but I can see why some people would. First of all, I'm atheist. Second. Taxes? Do you know how low self employment taxes are? Very low. Plus the government doesn't even seem to know how to spend tax dollars properly... Not getting into my insane passion against our current government ~! Not as many married men go to prostitutes because it is against the law. If it was legalized than more men would go to that instead of watching porn and jerking off. Women would start to feel like the only way to hold on to men would to be to have sex with them whenever! Others would think the only way to have sex would be to become a prostitute. Why would men want to waste their time on girls who don't want to have sex until they have a relationship with them when they can just go to the corner, pay a girl, get a motel room, bang it out, then go home and watch football?

Sometimes women have no choice. Do you really think that is what someone would dream of doing when they are older? Having sex with whoever wants to have sex with you? No. The dream is to have a family, a nice house, a secure job that you can eventually retire from. Prostitutes become what they are because they can't find a job, or they are desperate for money. They can get more money for it (at least I think so) and they can become well known and even win awards. I understand where you are coming from. Trust me I do. I am a firm believer in loving one person, being dedicated to someone and expressing that love in one magnificent and overpowering way. There is a difference in loving someone, and being in love with someone, just the same, there is a difference between sex and making love. Unfortunatly, humans are not perfect. They do what they do, right or wrong (in our mind or there's) and there isn't a way to change that. Do I agree with prostituion? Hell no. Its meaningless and degrading- in my mind. Not but 50 years ago, it was wrong in the minds of many Americans for people of different races to mingle together- for a woman to love another woman- for people who work hard in a country not their own to become apart of something bigger. To some people, love is dead; Love is corrupted in their minds, and we can't change the way they think. But what can we do? Gain. Make it safer. Expose the dark side of our communities instead of shoving it under the bed. Its time for our conservative thoughts to change- times change, people change and the best thing we can do is make the best of it.

And, just to get this out of the way, SEX CAN BE FOR FEELING GOOD AS WELL, NOT JUST REPRODUCTION! You contradicted yourself a little back there, just to let you know. Prostitution has always been around, and always will, legalizing it will make it a very good business.

What you said about men getting caught with prostitutes, *I couldn't agree more with you about finding their pieces* the number of men doing that will increase! Because it will be perfectly legal. They won't have to worry about going to jail for it! Breaking more woman's hearts. Leading to divorce. Divorce can destroy children. *trust me I've seen it* It can cause people to have money issues. It can cause people to become depressed. Depression can lead to suicide. I do understand that I am only 'assuming' these things, but divorce is the leading cause for depression and financial issues.

MEN ARE NOT SEX STARVED MANIACS. If prostitution was legalized, I think men could restrain themselves so as they don't become broke within the first week. You really have a low outlook on men don't you?

I am stating facts and only facts, Sex is just as much of an addiction as getting high. People loose their jobs, homes, family and friends because of drugs. World of War Craft causes people to loose their jobs and homes.Sex makes you feel good. Being high makes you feel good. World of War Craft gives you the pride and sense of accomplishment the real world may deprive you of. I also never said all men. Just the majority.

Woooaah relax. Breathe. You seem to be running yourself in frantic circles and this is actually stressing me out just to read, so please calm yourself. About the divorce part. Some marriages, after years and child birth, become sexless. Starting at a couple times a week and becoming barely more than a couple times a year. That may work for the labido of one in the marriage but not the other. This can lead to cheating with women (not prostitutes). Having meaningless sex is one thing, but with real women there is a strong posibility of an emotional relationship starting, and THAT is the real problem. My parents would still be together if it was the former. The latter is what happened, and it caused divorce. So prostitution could actually save marriages.

A study has shown that countries who've legalized prostitution do have lower rates of it. HOWEVER it's because the viewpoint regarding the "sex trade workers" is changed. They're seen more as victims and sympathized with instead of labelled with your average "slut/ they clearly want it" type stigma. Though any type of public discussion usually leads nowhere as policy makers and your general public ya-hoos don't want to be associated with okaying prostitution and "workers" don't want to be told what to do. Lets try an actual research articleTry out Google scholar! Where you can get legit articles for free ^.^
