Colours? Pink!

Gabby and Asryane had spent a good part of their first afternoon together, Gabby was happily asking questions and Asryane tried to answer each single one the best as she could. She had planned on going over to Mew's house later that evening, at a time that her friend would be awake, but for now she had given Gabby a worksheet for her ABC's. The girl seemed to be enjoying working on it and she was cheerfully humming as she concentraded on the sheet in front of her, her tongue half hanging out of her mouth. Asryane couldn't help but smile, it was such a cute sight, a young child so caught up in her own world.

"TATA! Momi-eh! Wook, wav fini dwaw-dwaw!" She pointed proudly at her just finished colouring and held it up high in the air so that her mommy could take a good look at it.

Pink. Pink. Pink. Gabby beamed.

"Oh darling.. that is so pretty. You like pink, eh? That's..really great, but how about this. For the next time you're going to try out other colours, just think of how challenging that is going to be!" Asryane glanced at the half-open colorbox lying on the ground, only the pink stifts had been used and Yane chuckled sheepishly.

"Okee-eh." Gabby nodded, then put her drawing back on the table and held out her hands Asryane. "Momi-eh. We go-go to place when I fini dwaw? Momi-eh pwomis!" Yane nodded as reply, lifted up the girl and twirled her around in the air. "We're going to meet some of mommies best friends. Come on.." She put the girl down again and held out her hand. "FWEE!" Gabby pounced after her mom and continued with their game of 'question-answer'.

Finishing the Alphabeth

"Aay, Bee, Cee!" The lovebird hummed softly to herself as she worked on her school assignements. The 'L' had given her the chance to use pink again and of course Gabby had happily done this. Ohh, it was all so awesome and all so interesting, today had been a good day, she loved learning new things!

"Occee.. zeh Ocopush. Peggeh zeh Pengwin. Ohh Momi-eh! Gabsy hat sumething e show yew!" Gabby stood up, waving her hands with the papers above her head when she saw her mother entering the room. "Wook, more colouring. Petty noes? I hat pink wor hearts and love. And I like bwoos too now. Momi! Wook! Now!" She sprinted towards Yane and wrapped one of her arms around her mothers leg and with the other pushed the papers towards mommy, an expression of pure joy and excitement on her face.

Even though the little lovebird didn't weight that much yet Asryane still had a little trouble keeping her balance when the girl had jumped on her leg, she grabbed a chair to lean against and then started to look the papers over. "Elske has showed me the colorings you did last week, but these are definitely as pretty! Great job darling. How about we stick these on the fridge? Or do you want to keep them in your room? I am sure they'll look very pretty in your new room." Asryane said, eyes still going over the different colorings. She was so proud that her little girl had now finished the alphabet!

"I'ma give em to momi-eh!" Gabby bounced up and twirled around. "Momi-eh can put-put in roomie. On wall-wall!" she pointed towards the walls of the living room while she said it and nodded her head. The first couple of colourings were already hanging there, but Gabby thought it would look even better with these new ones on there. The more, the better.

"Thank you, sweetie. What a great present! Mommy's going to take great care of them, I promise." Asryane ruffled through Gabby's pale green hair and her lips curled into a warm smile.

"Fo-we-ver?"

"Forever."

"FWEE! Momi-eh, can put 'em ere.. or ere.." Gabby darted through the room, pointing at different places. "I'ma daw-daw more for you soonee~" Real drawings, not just colorings! Gabby had found out that her mother loved drawing and painting, oh, wouldn't it be amazing if she could give her momi-eh a self-made drawing? She was sure that it'd make mommy smile, which was of course also something that made Gabby herself smile. Yes, she had a plan.

"Next is numbers, eh? But, how about us practicing a bit more with the writing? Together?" Asryane chuckled when she saw Gabby's reaction; whenever somebody said the word 'together' in a sentence, she became all hyped up. And so the two sat down to practice some of Gabby's homework, the part where Gabby still had the most trouble with, writing. "And when we finish this we can go out to play or maybe meet some new friends and eat some ice-cream? That sounds good?"

Gabby's eyes widened and she nodded. Today was a good day indeed, no a great day! She rested her head against her mommy's shoulder and tried to concentrate on the writing.

"Bee... Cee..Ice-Cream!"

A child is expected to know certain things at certain ages.
In order to obtain rights to their Dragon(egg), they must prove they can meet these requirements.

The following sheet is for your child to fill out, with mild help from their guardian, then sent back to D-corp. (PM ot the mule)

Also any changes, even minor such as haircuts, should be reported to the D-corp to be logged and filed.

Thankyou,
The Boss.

Speaking is gold, silence is silver?

“Gabby! Gabby darling, where are you? Come on out, I’ve been looking for ages!” She could hear her daughters voice loud and clear and so the young bird couldn’t be far—but she had looked through the whole house (several times) and still hadn’t been able to find her daughter. Hide and seek, after this day Yane would realize that playing that with a bird promised one long game.

“You agreed to finish this one, momi-eh! Not coming out just yet! I’m really here somewhere! You can hear me so I’m not kidding! Ha! Ha!” Giggling softly to herself, Gabby pulled herself a little more into her shelter. She couldn’t risk being seen right now! That would ruin all the fun! She had a good, no make that perfect, view over her mom and it was just so funny to watch her search! Especially because she was trying so hard, but totally looking in the wrong places! Silly mams! “I’ll stay up here until you’ll find me!” She blurted out, then clapped her hands for her mouth in realisation of what she had just said. “Oh, oh, silly mams!”

Of course Asryane hadn’t missed that little hint and she tilted her head till she faced the ceiling. Nothing.. or so it seemed. “Gabby?” She questioned, a slight frown appearing on her face, her eyes darting over the whole ceiling, not missing one corner.

A loud crack, a shrill scream and a little lovebird fell out the air. She flapped her wings a couple of times and wrapped her arms around her mother’s neck, almost suffocating her in the process. “See! See, I can fly now! That’s why I hid up there, cause I can now! I told you flying class was lotsa fun! Did you see it mommy, did you, did you?”

In the chaos of the moment Asryane of course hadn’t seen a thing. All she had noticed were the loud noises and a second or what later the petite arms around her neck. Not having the heart to tell her daughter that, Asryane said: “Of course sweetie, and you’re getting really good, you know! But how was I supposed to find you up there, huh? You silly girl.” She ruffled through her daughter’s hair, making it even messier, and her lips curled into a small smile.

“Yep! Each time I fly, it’s going easier and easier and easier! And I’ve read some books about it and watched birds on Television! I just wish you could fly, mommy! Then we could go out together and have like so much fun! But you can’t! Esse does have wings, why don’t you? But Esse doesn’t really fly often either. I don’t understand because it really is the best feeling ever! I feel so sorry for Sah because she can’t fly! Of course she can run fast so it’s almost like she flies, but still a bits different. I’m happy Paxton and Vina can fly though!” She nodded her head, finally let go of her mommy and stood in front of Yane, grinning up to her.

Asryane stood there with a slight dumbfounded expression on her face. She wanted to reply to her daughter, but the little girl had talked so fast that she already had forgotten her first question. Not that this was a rare occasion, it happened all the time. Gabby always found the most odd things to ramble about and as soon as she started, there was no way of shutting her up again. She didn’t mind it, she loved listening to her daughter, but the fact that she was talking so insanely much did worry her a little; other people might not be so tolerant about it. She took a deep breath of air, bend down until she was on eye height with Gabby and smiled. “That’s all wonderful sweetheart, but we have to talk for a bit..”

”Sure! Talking is lots of fun! You know I like talking-you—“ She was shushed by her mama with a soft finger against her lips. “This is exactly where I wanted to talk about.” Asryane said, eyes twinkling from amusement. “Look honey, I know how much you like talking. How?” She asked when she read the question in the girl’s eyes. “Simple, you do it all the time and no, there’s nothing wrong with talking in general, but sometimes, just sometimes you need to learn about the value of silence, and what it can mean to the people around you.” She fell silent for a few seconds, pondering over her next words; unlike Gabby, Asryane had never been a talking star, she was more the thinking type. “When you scre—talk out loud—like you love to do—you have to realize that that might sound different to other people. That other people might find it a tad annoying or just plain rude. Have you ever heard about this proverb?” When Gabby shook her head, Asryane smiled and stood up, walking over to one of the huge bookshelves, tapping with her fingers on it until her eyes fell on the right book. “This is a book full of proverbs. Proverbs are short sayings that tell the obvious truth or offer you good advice. This book covers almost all of them! Including one .. that might be useful for you.” She gazed into her daughter’s eyes and poked the girl’s nose gently before adding laughingly: “So shall we take a look?”

“Of course!” Was Gabby’s direct answer as she leaned a little closer to her mommy, eyes curiously going over the book and its pages. She had always loved learning new things and reading had become one of her foremost hobbies. Obviously if she could hang out and talk to others she’d pick that over reading any day, but sometimes, just sometimes she loved to curl up in a corner alone and learn all about the world! “So which of the pro-proverbs are we looking for mama?”

“It’s called, speaking is silver, and silence is gold.” She replied as she riffled through the pages of the book untll she had finally reached the right page. “There’s a little extra explanation on the side, too.” Asryane added, not taking her eyes off Gabby; she wondered if her little one would understand.

Gabby stared at the page for a couple of seconds, eyes flying over the letters and the explanation. Speaking is silver, silence is gold. She wasn’t so sure, what it meant was obvious: silence is better than speaking! But then how did you make friends? No, this must be a misprint. “Mommy, are you sure it’s not wrong? That it’s the other way around?”

Asryane chuckled under her breath and shook her head, her long red hair flowing over her shoulders. “No, it actually is correct. It doesn’t say that speaking is wrong, it just puts the emphasize on that fact that you should sometimes listen to others too and that keeping your mouth closed can do good too. That’s all it says.”

Well, that made more sense to Gabby. Maybe she was beginning to understand. That was at least one thing. Agreeing with it was another. And so she just smiled at Asryane and nodded. “I think I do understand. Can I keep the book and read it some more before going to bed?”

“Of course..” Giving her daughter a quick kiss on the cheek Asryane smiled. “I knew you’d understand. Doesn’t mean I want you to stop talking, I just don’t want you to get in trouble with it either, hmm?” She stroked through her daughter’s hair then shooed her upstairs. “It’s late sweetheart..”

“Still.. I kinda think it’s the other way around. Speaking must be gold.” Gabby whispered and giggled to herself as she skipped upstairs to make herself ready for bed. Her mommy's book was interesting, it sure was, even if she didn't agree with all the things in it, it would still be a fun book to read!

Speaking is gold, silence is silver...all the girl's dreams that night had that theme.

Dear D-Corp Staff,
Hereby I send you the form Gabby received from D-Corp recently. I attempted to give her a black pencil to fill in it this time, but she secretly switched it when I wasn?t looking, so hopefully you won?t mind the pink. At least it?s readable.

Gabby has obviously grown a lot since last time we?ve corresponded. Actually she has grown a lot more than I had expected?she has always been a relative short child but is now edging a bit more to the average side. Her hair has grown slightly longer as well (except for the few shorter bangs), curly as ever and after whining for them for weeks she has gotten a few pink (surprising, isn?t it?) highlights. Her clothing style hasn?t changed much; decorations, little hearts and ribbons, she loves it all, especially in pink and reddish colours. She has also gotten a liking in making these cute little decorations herself. Actually to sum it up her looks are still the ones of a curious, happy and purely innocent child.

Personality wise, well what should I say? She was always an extremely bubble and energetic child. Hanging around with her sister made her a little more on the mischievous side, or so I have noticed lately, but she?d never hurt anyone on purpose, she?s playful not evil. Actually it surprised me at how caring she has come to be, always helping everyone around her. At first she was a clumsy helper and things often ended up worse, but slowly she?s becoming more and more handy. The talking (or rather babbling) issue is still a bit of a problem, though it seems she?s slowly starting to understand the value of silence. Slowly, as of right now speaking is still gold to her. She just loves to drag people around and randomly hug them, just touching and cuddling in general. Yes, she's a touchy-feel person.

Three of her most foremost hobbies currently are decorating, singing and dancing. Sounds a bit girly-girlish, doesn?t it? Well, yes, I suppose she is a real girl, well except for the fact that she?s not afraid of dirt. She?s also highly interested in what other people, children, just generally others do. Not afraid to ask questions she?s become a forward and bold girl, loving to take the initiative and still rather fearless. She?s one who takes action and jumps right in, or that is what I have noticed over the past few months.

I suppose this covers all you had to know, if not you know where to find me.
Gabby?s really excited to see her dragon, even more so excited than she normally is.

Sincerely,
Asryane Karchekanon
