He smiled a bit. "I suppose. It's kinda weird when you watch it, they still sort of act like kids around each other, but they did meet when they were very young. I do know that they sort of casually look for me when I slip off, but there willing to wait for me to tell them in my own time."
He frowned slightly at the last part of her first statement. "I understand that parents can be protective...but there is something as going to far." he sighed. "Seems unfair to you."
Pach listened quietly as she went on about her life in her herd. His ears flicking as the frown deepened slightly. He was touched about how she felt about him, but the way her family treated her more like an object than an individual bothered him greatly. "That should be crime against nature or something. I understand that you're an important figure among your herd, but the way they treat you...it sounds more like you're a pawn than a treasured daughter. No offense but it seems your mother is more interested in making you her, than letting you be yourself." he sighed and shook his head. "I can see how much of a strain it is on you, and I'd be afraid that one day you'll just break into pieces." he glanced over at her wondering if he'd overstepped any bounds and caught her eye, he swallowed and melted a bit inside at the sight of those green pools. "I'm sorry if I said anything that offended you." he said quietly. He then tried to smile and make a little joke. "My reasons for not telling my parents is far more silly, I just can't bring myself to do it, even though I know they'd love you." he let his eyes flick around before settling back on hers. "You're very easy to love, Tin." he added quietly.

When Pach caught her gaze, Tin's breath caught. She didn't know what to say, what to do. All of her emotions were rushing around at once - her own affection for him, the flickering in her tummy as she tried to figure out what wouldn't ruin this perfect moment. Since words had escaped her, she decided to just settle for what felt natural: she scooted closer, and leaned her head into the crook of Pach's neck. With a sigh, she did her best to settle herself there comfortably. "You always know what to say," she said, hoping he wouldn't mind her being so close. "And I love you, too," she said softly, fighting off the butterflies that were fluttering all the way from the pit of her stomach to the top of her throat.
Not knowing what else to say after that, Tin smiled to herself. She'd said the three words, the ones she'd never thought about saying to anyone that wasn't one of her parents. And while she'd meant them, she realized rather quickly that until that moment, she hadn't noticed just how hard she was falling for Pach. Even though this was unknown territory, she wouldn't mind exploring it, especially if he was at her side.

"I try." he said blushing as she put her head against him. His sounded loud in his ears, and he was sure that she could hear it as well. Then those three little words came out in her melodious voice and his heart skipped a beat and he suddenly felt like he could fly. He turned his head and nuzzled the top of Tin's head gently. "I love you and I'll always be here for you." he said softly resting his head against hers.
He closed his eyes and sighed contentedly. No matter what happened after this moment, nothing would change how he felt about the mare next to him. Come hell or high water, he'd fight to keep her safe and happy.
