The Living Force TANRailgun The Living Force TANRailgun The Living Force Well, my neighbor didn't mean to run over my dog, so I guess that means my dog's not dead. Not even remotely the same and you ******** know it. I love you and everything CQC, but you're deep in some logical fallacies, and it's starting to tick me off. Saying it wasn't your intent to offend does not undo the offense. It might bring understanding, if the apology is sincere. The Brony community has done nothing to apologize, and in fact have been rather adamant in their denial. You cannot demand forgiveness, it is given when the aggrieved parties feel it is right. If at all. The brony community has jack s**t to appologize for, and as I stated in the other thread and I quote Me, like five minutes ago It makes the statement still offensive to those that took offence, but any reasonable person would drop the issue once they realized that it was just a mistake, and that offence or insensitivity was not intended in anyway. and as I also said, I'm not saying anything about what people are allowed to find offensive, I'm saying you all need to let it go. Bronies have plenty to apologize for, namely telling people who were offended that they were making a big deal out of nothing. How about when you have hate crimes committed against you because you're differently abled, and that reason alone, and maybe we could open up a discussion on whether or not people are being unreasonable about continuing the reinforcement of marginalization of people in society, accidental or not. How about it'll be let go when people stop acting like it's no big deal. It's a huge ******** deal. THEY WERE MAKING A BIG DEAL OUT OF NOTHING! IT TURNED OUT TO BE NOTHING! It's akin to (again) saying something you didn't mean to be construed as being racist, and someone finds that offensive, and even after you explain that you never meant it in that way, they still call you a racist. I get that feelings were hurt, and yeah I'll apologize on behalf of Hasbro if that's what you want, but I will not apologize for defending them, because as far as we can tell they didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings either directly or indirectly. I'm ******** done with this issue, do what you want. Stop watching a show that I ASSUME you still like because of a misunderstanding, or act like a reasonable human being and recognize it for what it was...A MISUNDERSTANDING.

It being a misunderstanding doesn't change the fact that the character comes off as offensive to people. Even if they had had good intentions, that would not change that what came out was not good. Now people can either pony up to the fact that the result was bad, despite the intention, or keep on ignoring the problem simply because no ill will was meant. Which is where my example came in. Your running over my dog being an accident doesn't bring my dog back. The least you could do is apologize for it instead of telling me to get over it because it was an accident. Do not tell me what to do.

As for the rest, I don't care anymore, I'm done, it's over, I don't ever want to hear about this again. Do what you want, but I honestly hope you stick with MLP, I like talking to you about it, and it seems like a waste to throw away something that I assume you still like because of a misunderstanding, that's all. Now if you'll excuse me, I gotta go smoke half a pack of cigarettes to keep myself from strangling something cute and fuzzy.

So you're only problem is that you wish there was a different voice actor for the character?
Seriously it's not that big of a deal.

Personally I always pictured Derpy with a higher-pitched voice, but I'm not angry or anything that the creators of the show didn't have the same "vision" as me.

Personally I'm excited to see more about Derpy and am hoping that more will be shown. If this is it I'll probs be a little upset cause, I mean, that's it. But other than that I'm not that worried. Derpy doesn't seem overtly anything at the moment, and I'm waiting to see more progression with the character. 3nodding

Establish that she's NOT mentally disabled, just clumsy and perhaps a bit ditzy. I still don't really get why people have such an issue with Derpy yet never complain about characters like Billy from "The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy", among several other characters from several other shows, whose sole purpose is to do idiotic, nonsensical things for comedic purposes. But I think showing that Derpy is just normal will calm people down.

Considering we saw her in the Best Young Fliers competition, and the cutie mark with the bubbles, I think it represents her being a very graceful flier (despite being clumsy everywhere else) which is why she's a mail-mare. cat_3nodding
