She wanted to tell him. She did. She was fighting with herself, and Lark knew it was a losing battle. She knew it was. From the moment she stepped into his dorm room after realizing that it had really been him leaving all of those notes, Lark knew she wasn't going to leave this room today without telling him how she really felt.
And that was a terrifying thought to face up against.
"What if... what if I told y'that there ain't no other boils? What if I told y'that it hurts t'see y'with other ghouls? What would y'say? I ain't hidin' nothin' from ya, Ket. Sometimes it jest feels like... yer just too blind t'see."
Okay, whatever that meant, Ms. Cryptic. Even still, if he hadn't figured it out yet, maybe he never would.

He brushed a hand over her hair as he held onto her as his heart gave heavy (almost too gleeful) thuds within his chest when she spoke, "Blind an' dumb...Maybe a bit scared," he said softly as he tilted his head to kiss the top of her head now. Kettil was suddenly more certain than anything that if she left his room it would be as his ghoulfriend if anything.
Normally he had no such strong aspirations.
...Normally. Things were running a bit differently now.
"I'm sorry...I made ya cry...I'm sorry I...am just a coward...Too scared of what would happen if we took that step," he muttered quietly as he moved a hand to brush it over her cheek tenderly just to feel her skin under his fingertips.
"It...It makes me crazy, too...Y'know. To think of ya with other boils...Yer mine," he couldn't make the same claim about there being no other ghouls since he had been basically mooning after Freya but now things were different, "I see now and I want....I want you t'be my ghoulfriend, Lar."

Lark wasn't entirely sure she was hearing him correctly, and yet she couldn't help the way her heart skipped what felt like a thousand beats when he called her his, and with such emphasis. Dreams coming true? Yes. Everything was happening so fast, and if Lark was feeling more rational she might've slammed on the brakes right then and there. If she was in her right mind she probably would've never taken the steps that carried her into his dorm room. She would have never reached up and pulled his head down for a kiss.
But she had, and at this very exquisite moment in time, Lark had no regrets.
Her answer to his demand was another tug of his hair, drawing him down once more for a feverish kiss. This one was not a simple peck of lips to lips - and in the back of her mind, a little voice was warning her that it probably wasn't the smartest move that she could've made. Every gesture of her body clearly said 'yes, yes, yes' and Lark was powerless to stop it.

Regrets? What were those? Kettil knew he had none especially when suddenly she drew him down for a new kiss though he did pause for a second or two waiting for an impending punch to the gut or another part of the body before he returned the kiss in force his hands moving to cup her face as if to hold her there for just a moment or two longer.
If anyone had seen them a few weeks ago they probably would have been in shock to see what they were doing now but he was beyond caring now. There was no world outside of himself and Lark. It was just them.
He held the kiss for several moments before he pulled away from the kiss reaching to grasp at her hands, "C'mon, let's sit down or somethin'," Kettil said feeling a little breathless after the kiss and the general rush of emotion that surged between them. Why hadn't they done this sooner? This was so...So wonderful...

A hot blush spread across the apples of Lark's cheeks when Kettil brought his hands to her face, and for the briefest moment the ghoul allowed her self to melt against him. Could anything else be more perfect than this? Lark doubted it. Everything that she'd been feeling was only magnified by his touch against her cheeks and the raspy sound of his voice when he finally broke the kiss.
Her eyes were bright and a little unfocused when Kettil spoke, and haplessly she followed him wherever he might take her. It was obvious that Lark was dazed, not feeling herself. The emotions that swelled in her chest threatened to choke her out entirely, and the only thing she could do was stare into those dark green eyes of his.

He let go of only one of her hands just so he could see where they were walking his footsteps pausing at his couch before he seemed to change his mind and led her to his bed for right now he just stood and gestured to it, "Ladies first," he said affectionately.
Kettil wasn't really why or how this was all happening and how things seemed to suddenly change like this - if he had been more himself he might have questioned it a little but right now he was with a perfect ghoul. The ghoul of his dreams.
The only one he will want to be with.

Dangerous, dangerous things were afoot, but at the moment Lark was too muddle-brained to even comprehend what was going on. All she knew was that she was with Kettil, the boil of her dreams. The ghoul was almost starry-eyed as she stared at him, not even removing the steel-toed boots from her feet before she clambered upon the bed and waited for him expectantly.
For what, she didn't know.
"Are we gonna kiss s'more?"
Oh, she sounded so hopeful.

Typically he wore no shoes in his own dorm unless he was on the way of wandering out and thus he had only to wait until Lark was settled before he moved to crawl in with her and then her face along with her question made him pause. It made something strange happen in his gut, a strange pleasant sort of flutter that made him just grin goofily, "Of course we are," he said softly as he then moved to settle down next to her completely.
He opened his arms to her, "C'mon, Newák'a, my arms feel empty without you in them," he said quietly reaching to pull her toward him as well as if impatient to have her close to him once more.

"What's it mean, hmm?"
Lark didn't think that she needed to elaborate; it didn't matter if she did, anyway. She was far too interested in moving back into Kettil's arms so that the kissing could commence.
It was nice to kiss him. He smelled so earthy and rich, and his scent was only intensified when she was this much closer to him. She was suddenly a little impatient to kiss him again.
"Don't matter. Kiss me again."

The meaning behind the word was simple enough to give while she settled back into his arms, "My Wing," he said quietly to her as his arms wound around her and then pulled her securely up against him. Her warmth was all that he wanted and needed though as she demanded a new kiss from him he simply grinned at her and then leaned and pressed his forehead against hers.
"You know. I could make you work for it," he murmured quietly.
It seemed he was mischievous despite anything that was affecting him at this moment. He at least leaned in and gave her a small taunting kiss upon the corner of her lips.

Lark grunted loudly when he made the comment about making her work for his kisses, but she was far too distracted by how perfect this all felt to get angry or offended or upset by his quiet murmur. The teasing kiss against the corner of her lips partnered with the fond phrase he'd called her? Lark was done.
Work for it? Yeah, she could do that.
As she had before, Lark took a hearty hold of a few dreadlocks. Effectively holding him in place, Lark bit his lower lip in a forceful show of demand. She did manage to growl almost playfully.
Almost.

Impressed was one of the feelings that Kettil had. The other feeling was probably better left unmentioned. He leaned in and kissed her fully and forcefully on the lips as the fingertips of one of his hand trailed lightly up along and against the fabric of her shirt. Right now he wasn't doing anything bolder than just kissing her.
...Mostly because Endzela appeared in the window just then.
"...I leave you alone for a few minutes and you are making out with Lark?" The Owl sounded baffled.
Kettil froze mid kiss and suddenly that secondary mood he had was shot.

Oh, his lips just felt so perfect against hers. So perfect, and her breath hitched when he slid his hand along her shirt. She wasn't feeling nervous, which was strange - when she'd played this out so many times before in her mind, she'd always been nervous and trembling. There was something driving her, something that she was helpless to deny.
There really was no telling how long she could've spent there next to Kettil, kissing him over and over and over again. It was probably a good thing that Endzela showed up when she did, because at that moment in time, Lark had zero intent on leaving Kettil's bed anytime soon.
When the familiar's voice rang out in a very confused way, Lark gave a short, sharp shriek of dismay an instant before she shot up in the bed, wasting no time in launching herself across the room. She snatched up her hat and held it against her chest like some sort of shield, backing against the door. Lark's eyes were wild, wide, and flashing with some strange emotion that would be impossible to put a finger on.
"Endy?" Her hand, trembling, reached behind her for the knob.

It didn't take long before his arms were empty again and he sat up in the bed frowning a little unlike Lark he didn't feel alarmed or anything as he just wandered toward the window to gather up his familiar into his arms and pet at her head, "It ... just happened," he said simply to the owl as he moved closer toward the ghoul that seemed on the brink of running, "Lark and I are going to be dating now," he said with a happy and blissful smile.
"...About Jackin' time," was all the Owl offered with a slow blink as she was carried toward Lark. "I am sorry I frightened you, Dearest."
Kettil reached his hand over toward Lark, "I'll make lunch today, Newák'a," he said with a small smile, "please stay a little longer."
Please don't run away..., his eyes pleaded with her as his brow furrowed a little.

Lark's first instinct was to leave. She wasn't sure why, honestly. It just felt, for a split second in time, that leaving would be the best thing to do. That was how she felt until Kettil spoke. When Kettil actually said that they were going to be dating, her heart leapt into her throat and she exhaled loudly. The corners of her lips curled upwards in a brilliant smile and she just... stared at Kettil and his outstretched hand.
This was what she'd been waiting for. For what felt like eternity, this exact moment was what Lark had been waiting for. Kettil watching her with those dark eyes, the admission of their relationship fresh from his lips, everything.
"I'll... I'll stay," the ghoul whispered softly, tossing her hat onto the bed she'd just vacated moments before.
