"Yesssssss adventuurreeeee." Ofelia was practically vibrating with excitement as they reached the town and she had to rein herself in to prevent her legs from carrying her away from her companion. Eva had said she couldn't walk so well and her limping had proven it was Ofelia running away and leaving her behind would just be a kick in the knee, so to speak. The teen had to settle for tapping her fingers together in a rapid manner as her head figuratively swiveled 360 degrees, each spot in the town falling under her gaze. It settled on a house that was half-standing, a burned door still settling in a frame. "Oooh, oooh, let's go in there first okay?"
Slowly she moved away from Eva's side and towards the door, her excited giggles very audible as her hands touched the knob the door possessed. Everything smelled of ash and burnt, two smells Ofelia actually rather liked,k and she turned to look back and see if her new friend was following close behind. Opening the door might lead to some kind of strange trap and part of Ofelia didn't want to face it alone and then a deeper part of Ofelia figured the trap would go after the clearly crippled person. A horrible thought, yes, but well Ofelia liked to be practical.

Oh boy, what kind of treasures would they find here, she wondered? Eva looked not unlike an excited child, her blue eyes bright as she scanned the buildings and rubble around them. Hmm hmm hmm, where to go!? So many choices!
Fortunately, Ofelia made the task easier by picking out a destination for them. Laughing, she made no choice to protest as she turned to follow her companion, making her way towards the door. Whereas Ofelia may have been fond of the smell, it was clearly not Eva's cup of tea as she scrunched up her nose slightly the closer she got to the door. "I wonder what happened here?" A fire, obviously but what had caused the fire?
...
Ah well, didn't matter. Grinning, she jerked her head towards the doorknob. "Okay, let's do this!"

"Ah dunno, yer guess is as good as mine. In terms'a what happened, that is." Ofelia raised a surprised eyebrow at Eva when the girl asked just what had happened. The teen had assumed that anyone who'd been in the club longer than her would pretty much know everything, completely forgetting the fact that her companion had mentioned before she'd never been in the area. It was just like the Sunnie to easily forget and not really give a damn. With Eva at her side though Ofelia leaned against the door without consideration as to what might be behind it. . .and was surprised that it opened into a room that looked rather well preserved despite being somewhat burned.
There were some tables and chairs in various states of burnt scattered about the area, and they looked old. Really old. Ofelia was really tempted to try and sit on one of them. "Ah wonder why people jus' up an' left their stuff here. Do ya have any idea 'bout that? Why this place was abandoned? Did it get burned b'for it got left, or did the people leave 'cause it was burnin'?"
A thousand questions.

This really was a rather...sad place, wasn't it? She let her eyes sweep over the room that they entered, taking in the old furniture with a little frown. Ofelia's questions were met with a little frown and a shake of her head. "No idea. I mean, it's kind of strange that there's a town on this island at all, in my opinion. Obviously someone used to live here, but..."
She trailed off thoughtfully, pulling off one of her gloves and running her fingers over the table. She rubbed the soot and dust coating her fingertips with a little frown.. Really, no one really came here, did they? Not that she could blame them--it was not the most beautiful or relaxing of places, to put it mildly. Sighing, she turned back to look at the other trainee.
"Seems kind of weird, though. I wonder if it could have been those monsters that did something to this town?" Her voice suddenly became slightly uneasy as she added, "Though how they got on this island is beyond me. I mean, the only way on and off are the portals."
A long pause, and then she suddenly brightened up, shrugging her shoulders. "But oh well. Let's keep going and see what we can find! Maybe we can salvage something interesting!"

"Maybe the people at Deus lived in this place b'for movin' inta that buildin'. Would make sense ta me." Ofelia didn't know how long this place had been here or how long Deus had been around. Everything was super new to her down to the point she barely remembered where her room was supposed to be, but that didn't really stop her from asking stupid questions and making weird suggestions.
She was mostly listening to Eva, deferring to her knowledge as someone who'd been here longer, and she nodded her head in reference to the portals. "Whatcha mean by portal? Like the kind ya might see in a movie or sommin'?" Ofelia knew little of portals. Very, very little.
