Javor.Karel "Ah, no. Is fine," Javor said, without looking up. "I've been working..." He wasn't really paying that much attention to what she said until he heard something about DNA. He glanced up at her, trying to focus on what she was saying, and managed to set his flasks down just in time. Because she grabbed his arm and started dragging him toward the stairs.
He didn't really protest, following curiously. "Yes, yes. I am coming," he assured her. It would be a shame if she pulled his arm off. He used it very frequently...
Though he was sure reattaching it would not be all that difficult. "Who are these people we are meeting?" [EXIT?]

Suzanne had finished tweaking the machines. She glanced at the books of machinery that she transported here from the library to make sure she did it right. Of course she did it right! Suzanne was superior when it came to getting information from books after all!
She grinned, not realizing there were smudges of dirt on her face from attempting to clean up the machines.
"Now all that's left to do is wait for Javor to show up!" Suzanne remarked as she crossed her arms and admired her work.

Javor took something of a scenic route down to his lab. He'd meant to be more direct, but he kept getting distracted. It was quite a bit later when he finally made his way down the dark stairs to the secreted away door and let himself in.
He found Suzanne working hard--as usual.
"You have progressed well?" he asked. "Are we ready to begin?"

Suzanne turned to Javor with a big grin on her face. "I finished! You sure took your sweet time, but no matter! The point is you're here now!" Suzanne remarked cheerfully and then she disappeared into the shadows and reappeared at a sink to wash her hands. Moving through the shadows was mostly how she moved around. It was great to be able to roam freely through the room. She couldn't do that anywhere else unless she wasted a lot of energy.
After washing her hands, she carefully closed the books she had been referencing and piled them up. "Now then, what else is there to be done than begin?" Suzanne asked. "I think I've been ready for this since the idea of monsters crossed my mind!"

Javor.Karel "I do not recall that it was sweet, but there were many distractions along the way," Javor said. He went to inspect the machines. "You have completed the alterings?"
He went to one of his tables to gather a few flasks of magic. "What sort of creature should we make? Something that will terrorize properly. Something unexpected and interesting."
Well, they had cat-person DNA and snake-Unseelie DNA. He was certain they could create something that would horrify the student body and staff. Though, it was too obviously man-made, that would surely be a problem. They would have to take care to ensure it looked like a natural creation instead of a chimera. He wondered if they should use some kind of creature of a base...maybe a rat...
((Have to wonder where Suzanne got books on monster-making machines. emotion_awesome ))

Suzanne grinned at Javor. "It's all done!" Suzanne reported as she flailed her hands in the air with excitement. "All that's left to do is stick in the DNA. But it's going to be the first monster, so I don't think it's going to be exactly perfect but we can learn from this after we inspect how the first trial goes!"
She thought hard about the first monster. She definitely wanted something unexpected that would freak people out. That was what they were aiming for right? She crossed her arms. What could they do with a cat and a snake? Make a cat snake? How obvious to put them together. What if they tweaked it so that it was no longer a cat and a snake but some completely new creature. An unknown species!
Of course that took a lot of work and Suzanne was still learning more about how these machines work. Perhaps in the future. For now, makeshift little monsters will have to work. "I suppose we ought to start out small to give everyone a little jolt. As we collect more data, we'll just keep improving the monsters as we go along and before the school knows it, they'll be impossible to defeat! Of course we need to know how to defeat them since we don't want our monsters turning on us." Suzanne answered finally.
((LMAO. XD They weren't monster making machine books. ;D They were just books on machines to help Suzanne understand how machines work. The monster making part was just Suzanne's colorful imagination! 8D ))

Javor.Karel
"We will simply program in a weak spot," Javor said. "Something that you and I alone, are aware of. Should it become necessary, we will easily kill them. But it is unlikely that will become a problem."
He was unsure how to work the machines with all Suzanne's tweaks and improvements so he handed over the DNA and vials of stored magic, for building and animating the creatures. He assumed she would know what to do with it all. He would learn by watching her. The question was--were they going to release the creature right away, or would they need to store it somewhere. Because all he had for containment, were a few closets. Perhaps he should invest in cages.
((Now I just imagine some kind of cat thing with snakes for legs. <__> ))

Being the lazy person that she is, she made the machine really simple to use. Of course she added a bunch of random buttons that looked like they were all important, including the big red button, but they were all useless and did nothing. In fact, to make the machine work was not a button but a switch that was hidden from view.
"And in goes the two!" Suzanne cried out as she took the DNA and dumped them into the machine. With the flip of the switch and backed up from the machine. The gears seemed to work well and the sliding door started to open slowly to let the creature out from inside.
"Alive. It's alive! IT'S ALIVE!" Suzanne cried out as she flailed her hand in the air.

Javor.Karel "Is it alive?" Javor asked, leaning to inspect the creature as Suzanne shouted excitedly about their wayward creation. A slow smile spread across his pale features and his eyes glinted slightly in the dim light. How delightful. "Or, perhaps, is it merely animated?" There was quite a difference after all. From the way it hissed at him, he suspected it would be unwise to get in for a closer look. Though, really, he was very curious about the whole thing. Nevertheless, he really didn't wish to lose a hand. Regrowing them was such a time consuming process.
It looked a big different than he expected. For one thing, it was sort of slimy and scaley with little to no fur. He'd sort of been picturing it furry for some reason.
"I wonder--where shall we release our little one? Should we wait until it has acclimated to the world, or shall we unleash it immediately?" He supposed the library would be off limits. And it really would be a shame if it were to eat Suzanne's books. "I feel we should give the little Zvijer a name of it's own, yes?"
Even if it was just a tool, even tools needed names. Otherwise they wouldn't call them screwdrivers and wrenches. They'd be 'that star tipped thing' and 'double ended phallic tool used to unloosen bolts' both of which were decidedly unwieldy. And calling it 'Javor and Professor Malevolyte's cat-snake creation' was also a little unwieldy. It needed something more concise.

Suzanne finally calmed down from her excitement. Actually, that was impossible. It was so beautiful! The scales of the creature glistened beautifully due to the slime all over its body. "I think it's absolutely beautiful! I dub you Fluffy!" Suzanne remarked. "My brother's first pet was an alligator and he let me name it. So you're named after my brother's first pet! Hopefully you don't try eating me like the first Fluffy!"
Suzanne reached to pet it but it snapped at her arm and she withdrew it before she lost her arm. Well, it looks like Fluffy 1 and Fluffy 2 were very much alike.
"But I bet it's hungry so we should feed it. We don't want it eating the students. We just want it scaring them." Suzanne said as she crossed her arms and turned to Javor. "Hmm... if you don't like the name Fluffy, we can always name it something else. How about, Rahmur? That was my servant's name back at the demon realm." Suzanne had no originality when it came to names and always had to name it after something. Of course Fluffy was one of the only names she made up for a creature which wasn't very original either.
((I dun want it to die! XD After coming up with a name for it, I want to keep it forevah! >8D ))

"We don't want it eating them?" Javor asked, surprised. He frowned. He could think of a few he very much wanted it to eat. The flower wielding harpy...the harpy that poured water on him. But if Suzanne didn't wish it to devour students, he supposed they would have to ensure it did not.
"Perhaps we can find it some rats," he said. There was not much else to eat down in the lab but bits of stored magic and he doubted anyone else but him would be able to derive much nourishment from that. Though one wouldn't call it 'nourishment' per se.
((Mrr...fail. Sorry. Suddenly sleepy. >.< If it dies, they can make Fluffy II))
