((Entering))
Ami stared at the room they had just entered. A classroom? Really? She'd already done this college thing ... well rather, she was part way through it. Though she normally quite enjoyed the classroom, she was not eager for the homework.
She sat quietly and stared at the man who was now lecturing them about Deux Ex. Stacey Ulrich, okay. Apparently he was a substitute teacher of some sort? Well, she supposed more like substitute principle from the way the heavy words "death division" sounded. So they weren't even worth the real deal, just some substitute? That thought made her frown.
His speech gave her the chills, and she looked down at her hands. She'd ... killed to be here? And been killed? Ami didn't know which of the two options was worse. She decided to put it out of her mind, and continued listening to the man.
Question time. Oh boy did she have questions. She was about to raise her hand when his speech answered all of her questions; she had no questions. Okay, well that was just great. Thanks for that. Ami frowned again. She didn't like the unknown.
Turning to the boy next to her (Dillon), she quietly said, "I don't suppose you know much of what's going on either, right?" Awkward conversation ahead.

Feng didn't want to think about what he'd done to be here. He didn't want to consider the blood, quite literally, on his hands, or how he'd needed to survive. He was here. The others were here. That was all that mattered, right? They've made it, and there was nothing to be done about it. If there were going to be killing more - he swallowed hard - then it was something they'd have to get used to.
Luckily the girl infront of him was a good distraction. Granted, he couldn't tell what she really looked like, because he could only see the back of her head, but the long, thick braid she sported was interesting. He caught himself reaching out to run his fingers through it several times and stopped himself just in time. How did girls deal with their hair being that long? He could only imagine the headaches it must cause.
Before he could stop himself he realized his fingers were grazing the strawberry blonde strands. He froze, fingers still touching her hair.
O nO Ohgod. He'd touched her. She was going to beat him up.

His “patience” didn't last very long and soon enough, the young man was back to fidgeting about in his uncomfortably small chair. He eventually did settle for resting his cheek on his palms and staring into blank space while waiting. Only when he heard Ami's voice did Dillon's eyes darted to the side to look at the girl who just spoke to him. Right, he didn't even notice that the girl had just arrived.
To answer her question, the young man simply shook his head and shrugged. He did look away to mull over it a bit and finally came up with the best answer he could give. “Apparently, we've signed up for something militaristic in nature, willingly, and are now about to be officially inducted into the organisation's ranks.”
A pause.
“Sounds like this is our new life from now on, we might be staying here for quite a while.”
Another pause. A little longer this time.
“So, why do you think you might have joined something like this?” He was curious to know why such a young lady would have elected to be part of ... whatever this was. It was then that Dillon caught the sight of the asian looking guy who was sitting behind her playing with her hair, which prompted him to turn around and give him a 8T whatareyoudoing? stare.

"Perhaps... we're fighting for a very important cause?" Syd said, accidentally pushing her way into the conversation. "I mean Mr. Stacey said they were giving us an important cause, right? Something that's worth killing... and dying for." She felt a bit awkward talking to males, even in college the males in her classes-- Wait... something about college... She frowned, then shook her head slightly. Now wasn't the time.

Ami frowned reflecting upon this information. A new life ... sounded good. She wasn't sure the reasons, it just sounded pretty solid. Then again, what was her old life? A deep frown creased her face.
The boy distracted her quite well. "I ... couldn't tell you," she said, quite honestly. She wasn't even sure how she got here. Apparently she chose to do so, but not the details of it. It was incredibly irksome to not know the full details of something. She hated the unknown so much.
A girl pitched in to their conversation, and Ami felt a tad more comfortable. Seeing a friendly girl face was nice. "Fighting? Who said anything about fighting?" A flashing memory came back to her. She'd ... hit something. Hard. Maybe they were fighting. "Fighting ..." she said a bit quieter, mostly to herself.
It was then that she noticed the boy behind her had his fingers deeply woven into her braid. The one that had taken a million hours to do. At least she figured she did. Braids took a while, right?
She turned around and gave him the look.

First the guy next to her noticed, and he gave Feng that disappointed look. He nearly squeaked, he was so freaked out. Quickly he pulled his fingers back just as the girl noticed and turned and just stared. His eyes wide and he didn't know what to do. Oh god. Ohgodohgod.

"...Hi," he croaked.

Slumping back in her chair for now, Infinity glanced around at the others stuck in the room as well. Most seemed to be silent - minus a few - or quietly talking with another. Though her attention was grabbed by just the facial expressions alone of two particular people nearby. One was quite impressive. The other expression...only strong will kept her from laughing at the guy's face. Priceless!
Looking around at those that were actually next to her, Fini figured sitting quietly with her thoughts was not the route to go. So she went for the awkward attempt at talking to someone. The couple people sitting next to her were obviously the best candidates for this!
"...Howdy." She attempted, not sure what else to say. Anyone else that wants to jump in~

"The more extreme the better, right? If ya take stuff in half-measure ya always end up regretin' or wonderin' if ya coulda done sommin' different. No point in dwellin' on the past if ya gave it your all an' still royally ******** yerself over. At least it was an adventure, yeah?" Ofelia adored adventures and whenever she managed to get out of it with maybe a few bruises (and one time a skull fracture) she considered it a success regardless of the outcome. Her aunt and brother had started to question her level of intelligence though which was somewhat cruel. "But who is 'he'? Not the manly man before us named Stacey, right? An' Clarice? Jus' how many people are here for this club?" Ofelia had to choke back a cackle when saying Stacey's name. It was a bit too much and she snorted again at the thought, wondering how much his parents have to had hated him for such a curse to be given.
As where she was from, Ofelia smiled and didn't hesitate to answer. "Ah'm from a small lil' town called Ludawici, in the heart of southern Georgia. Ya ever hear of it? It's not pretty big, at least it wasn't last time Ah checked, and Ah lived wit' mah aunt an' mah brother. Mah folks are back in Monatana but they sent me down ta be wit' my aunt on account I tried to burn the house down ta get at the monsters in the closet. Also, they called me a liar an' couldn' handle me 'nymore." Ofelia had been four or five when that happened so she really didn't mind - she actually barely remembered her parent or her place of birth. Whenever she saw her folks they never looked happy anyway and always asked her if she still lied. She always told them to go ******** themselves and her brother would have a stroke.
The young woman inwardly grinned with delight when she noticed that paying a compliment about something as simple as a jacket could result in pure pleasure. She was taking notes in her mind about the jackets, apparently they were very important, and Ofelia nodded her head along to show that she did understand what this Candace person was saying. The mention of a mission had her all but jumping out of her seat, ready to get a move on. "Ah've never really had sommin' Ah wanted ta put pride in, except maybe mah eyes. Mostly mah right one, see how it's a differen' color from the'ther one?" Ofelia leaned towards Candace and opened her eyes wide, allowing the other woman a nice view. "Which color do ya think suits me best, the blue or the gray?"

Trailing in behind the group, Hazel found herself in a classroom full of other misfits like herself. She casually strolled over to a wooden desk with a red colored chair and sat rather comfortably on the desk instead of the chair behind it.
"That bloke has a name of a lady," Hazel said, slightly amused. She scratched her ear as she glanced around the room, half listening to the man speaking in front of the class. Something something something... oh! Hazel discovered a stale stick of unchewed gum in her hair when she was scratching her ear. Without a second thought in her mind, she tore the wrapper open and shoved the gum right in her mouth.
She slid back into the chair leaving her legs propped up on the desk as she smacked away, chewing on the hard gum.

"Chicago was where my circus was when I got recruited," Clerise offered with a shrug, leaning back in her chair. She was far from being slim-- solid, less sleek and more brick house. Muscles hard from use and exertion. "Cold as a witch's tit there; buncha snow not too long ago." That was the best part about drinking. Warmed you up faster than anything-- tequila especially. The redhead listened to Ofelia ramble about a club and all that, and really...she couldn't help but agree with the girl. She let her enthusiasm show with a grin. "Extreme methods doesn't necessarily mean bad, right?" Clerise asked the other girl with the elaborate coat, honestly a little jealous. Her favourite part of being a star was getting elaborate outfits for the show, practical but fantastical. "What did yours look like, at first?" Selfish or not, Clerise knew she wanted a ******** ringmaster style coat. The lapels!

The conversation scattered around wasn't the most .. interesting of conversations. But then again, how could it be, with only questions? Saya couldnt help but mirror the buff-boy's thoughts, her head lowering in her palms, elbows on the desk.
Someone was talking to her.
"Hi." Her voice was just as apprehensive, her mind having been distracted on other matters. She waved, nodding her head towards Fini. "Howdy? I haven't head that phrase in awhile." Saya fumbled to speak the closest thing on her mind, the lack of knowledge or answers caused her to feel almost short-circuited of thoughts.
Except, lying back in the chair looked really appealing right now. Except, she had been .. sleeping, probably, in that pod for quite awhile now. She couldn't fathom why she felt sleepy-- Yawns were contagious. Too much so.

[ENTERING]
Rin was also clearly a bit late to the class and grabbed a plastic blue chair rather front and center. She wasn't exactly expecting what she had found but wasn't about to complain. At least here they implied the possibility of information being doled out.
She scooted her chair in, snugly sandwiching her body between desk and chair and allowed her gaze to thoughtfully wander. Man this group was chaotic.
She opened her mouth, fairly tempted to join in their conversations already going on. Instead though she belted a yawn for the whole class to see, no time to cover her mouth. I'm still sleepy.
She frowned thoughtfully to herself as she turned her attention back to the front. When will this other speaker get here already? She wanted so badly to just get this over with and maybe find a bed to crawl up in and play dead for a week.

Okay. Okay so she'd at least started a conversation. This was good. And at the very least gave them something to do while...waiting. Waiting for answers that seemed were not going to come. Or maybe there just weren't any to really give? What had that dude said? Stacey? Most they would learn with experience?
"Really? Huh..." Fini tilted her head up in thought for a second. Why had that particular greeting come to mind? "Just seemed the right word to use to me." She said with a shrug, offering the other girl a small smile. Then she stretched and just...flopped. What else could they really do?
"What's your name?" She asked curiously. "I'm Infinity. Or whatever you'd like to call me." Fini paused, glancing at a boy near them. Leaning just a little to reach over, she poked at him.
"Hey. You alright? What's your name?" Hey man, she could do this small talk thing. Sort of. Her head still hurt. And there was quite a bit of confusion still fluttering about her mind.

Candace shrugged. "Eh, not necessarily. Sometimes it's better to be a little more subtle, I think. Sometimes. It's fun to catch things by surprise but that's just me. It's been interesting learning my...ah..style~? Though I'm still learning, myself." She answered Ofelia with a smile, nodding at Clerise. "It's not! It really isn't."Who's 'he'~? Candace suddenly smirked, rubbing her lips together and working very hard not to look overly excited. A soft chuckle did escape her, however. "I'm not giving out spoilers, sorry~. 'He', if it's who I think it is, is a delightful man everyone would be lucky to know." And a massive troll, but Candace didn't want to give it away. She wanted to see the looks on their faces when they met H for the first time. Her smile softened and became significantly less mischievous when asked who Clarice was. "It wouldn't be any fun if I made their introductions for them. You'll meet them~. And uh..." She tipped her head back and stared up at the ceiling in thought. Leaders, assistants...trainees. Wow, uh..how many of them were their? "...A lot..." Candace finally answered dumbly, looking embarrassed of her own inability to actually give an answer. She didn't like that one bit. So, Chicago--a circus? Candace blinked. "You..were in the Circus?" Whooooooa. That was actually really cool! "We..had snow here last month...you guys would've liked it, I think. It was really nice." Her tone took on a noticeable sadness as she said this, rubbing the back of her neck and looking around again. She missed the JOY, and the old woman who had brought it on with her cookies and her charm...it was so sad to see how dull this place was without the added effect of JOY. She missed it terribly. Candace shook her head and forced herself not to think too hard about it, lest she cry or something else equally stupid. "Boston." She lied easily, idly fixing her hair. She certainly didn't sound like she was from Boston. "That's a shame about your parents."When asked what her coat before looked like Candace sighed mournfully. "It was too short to meet standards. It was like...a hoodie, kind of? It zipped up in the front, and it had these same gems that my new coat has. It only reached my hips. And it didn't have any of the pretty black or gold trim this coat has. I still have it for emergencies but I much prefer this coat."Another newbie commented on Stacey's name and Candace looked rather perplexed. "Is his name really that strange? I've known men named Ashley, and Dana, and a many other names perceived as 'female'." Yes, guys. Let's just talk about Stacey like he isn't here. Totally a good idea. She caught Ofelia going on about her eye and she frowned. She could understand taking pride but...she wanted Candace to be impressed? She found it difficult. "In the time he's been here my boyfriend has earned burn scars on his back and face. There's another hunter who woke up with only one arm. So...I'm unfortunately quite desensitized to things like that. Is it heterochromia or..?" She eyed the scars over the blue eye. "Fake?"Someone nearby somehow caught her attention. Mercedes, right? Miss Chenoweth~. She was the only one not chatting, and not asking questions. Why not? Was she shy? Was she just not paying attention? "What's got you so quiet, buttercup? Shock?" Candace asked loud enough to get Mercedes' attention without being obnoxious about it. Was she okay? Did she need some quiet time?

It was nice to see he wasn't the only person bored stiff here seriously, less socializing and more fighting, this wasn't a full cutscene for crying out loud. Justin casually leaned to one side, next to the other equally bored beta tester, casually whispering to them in a stage whisper. "Yo, you wanna check out my Armoury instead?"
He had updated all his equipment just recently after all.
