Aw, the Togepi had stopped playing? Well, it had been fun and it was good that the Igglybuff was playing now; Lasi was pleased to have met them both. He offered a smile to Merenor, wondering if perhaps the egg-pokemon was tired out and then the Golbat went on to continue to pull funny faces and play peekaboo with Linnor; he reacted like he was stunned when the Igglybuff played peekaboo back. He'd likely continue to play until the little pokemon tired of the game.
"What doesn't he like to do? 'S a fairly common problem, I think... Have you tried a reward system with him? It doesn't always work like ya'd hope and it takes a bit of time, but I think it's a pretty good method of training. Eventually you can get to a point where the pokemon doesn't really even need the reward anymore." Tambrey mused thoughtfully. She'd yet to own a fire type, and Tepig was an Unova pokemon too; fascinating but a little bit alien to her so far. She hoped she was giving helpful advice, but a lack of experience with either the type or the region was daunting.

"Repitition for the most part. We've been trying to build his control over his fire attack so that he doesn't accidentally try to burn down anything but what I ask." What a disaster that would be if she actually went on a mission. To get caught because her Pokemon couldn't control his attack. "He's also a bit impatient, and hard on himself too which I think is some of the problem." A reward system though, she'd have to think about. Find out what her Tepig would like.
A gurgling sound made Valentine look down at her Togepi, who seemed embarrased and had its hands on its stomach. The Rocket laughed as she remembered why she had been chasing these two. They were going to go grab something to eat when they had ran off.
The Igglybuff seemed to ignore everyone but the Golbat as it tried different ideas for peek-a-boo, throwing in some of the faces it made too when it uncovered its eyes.

"Huh. Then... I guess I'll readvocate the reward system idea in preference to scolding." Tambrey said, considering the problem once she'd heard it. "The way you describe it... It does sound like a patience problem- like he wants to be the best as soon as he tries? Reinforcing 's confidence and y'know, rewarding his repetition and progress... I suspect 't might be helpful. Again, though, I doubt 's any quick fix... Aside from that, I don't know the pokemon enough t' comment. I'm a lot better with normal types, to be honest and I've got experience with a few others, but no fire really. Hopefully what I'm saying isn't completely unhelpful though."
The grunt smiled as she heard the borborygmus emanate from the Togepi. "Sounds like it's feeding time... Y' headed canteen-wards or elsewhere?" She was aware of a few vending machines and once or twice had come across a stash of biscuits/cookies in a rec' room, so found it conceivable that Val might want to head somewhere other than the cafeteria to eat.
Lasi found the Igglybuff adorable and a lot of fun; he even pretended to fall over backwards at one of the 'scarier' faces made by the little pokemon. His attention did waver slightly, however, as he caught mention of the most important time ever invented; feeding time! His tongue still hanging out at the little normal type, the bat's eyes moved to give his trainer a sideways look as his wings flapped- Feeding time please!

"I'll definitely have to give it a try. Thanks." Valentine shrugged. "Well we were; but then they decided to run off so I don't think I should reward them with a trip." Val tried not to laugh at the horrified looks her Pokemon gave her. "Unless of course they agree to behave and not run off again. Then I might be swayed to take them to the cafeteria." Linnor was already nodding, while Merenor huffed and crossed his arms.

Tambrey nodded, then smirked as Val teased her pokemon. While Tam was amused, though, Lasi was horrified; deny the little pokemon food?! What a horrible, terrible fate! Nothing was bad enough to warrant such a punishment- being shut in the pokeball for a while maybe or something like that; those were good punishments. He, too, was giving Valentine a horrified look until she mentioned taking them when they behaved. "Guh! Guh buh... Guuuh,..." The pink bat grunted at his new friends, urging them to try to behave because humans could /very easily/ overlook just how necessary 8 meals a day, at least, really were! In fact, he was scraping by on something like only 4 in his estimation... He could -easily- believe that Val might not take them to the cafeteria.
"Ah, I see." Tambrey grinned at the pair's reactions. "Looks like y've got a little stubborn one there." She commented on Merenor then smirked at Lasi. "I... think he's trying to help, but just in case we might want t' prepare f'r some sort of prank..." She smirked and earned herself a roll of his eyes; he wasn't /always/ causing mischief, fun as it was.

Merenor's jaw dropped as Lasi explained. "Pri? Priiii?" It waved its arms to emphasis its amazement and confusion on being allowed 8 meals a day. They really could have that many? Perhaps it should do something to demand its trainer to give it that many meals a day.
Linnor squirmed in Val's arms until she was set down. Once her feet touched the ground, the Igglybuff ran up to the Togepi and shook its head. "Bu! Bu bu bu bu bu!" No they couldn't do that! Then they'd never be allowed to eat in the cafeteria.
Val tapped her chin with her forefinger. "Well, outside of barring the doors in case they decided to run again, we might have to hold them in our laps." She smiled at the flying Pokemon. "Not too sure about yours though."

Lasi -wished- Tambrey understood that he could, and therefore obviously probably should, eat 8 meals a day. Strictly speaking it was through his own wit and guile that he'd upped his food intake to what he estimated to be about 4 meals a day (because the 2 meals plus small lunch that Tambrey provided- and lunch didn't even always happen!- just wasn't anywhere near enough for him), via theft, begging with 'puppy-dog-eyes' and general sneakiness and not being picky (the bin sometimes had perfectly good food!). "Guh buh. Guh buh buh" The Golbat explained his reasoning that humans wouldn't hesitate to deny food as a punishment, thus to be successful with a human, a pokemon had to be sneaky and at least give the illusion of behaviour. "Guh buh". He agreed with the Igglybuff- demanding food was a good way to not get food; sneakier was better.
"Oh, he'll be fine if he's around the food. Might try t' dive in it, but he'd not leave the cafeteria unless there was something more delicious outside it I'd bet. I think he'll behave." She smirked at the Golbat, as a memory popped up "Still, he did threaten t' eat m' hat once when he was sulking, so we'll see... Little big f'r my lap now."

The Togepi pulled a pouty face and crossed his arms, but didn't say anything else. Behave? Him? He'd...try. He wouldn't like it, but if it got him fed he'd see how long he lasted.
Valentine bit her lip to keep from laughing at the imagery in her head. "I'll make sure to hover over my food in case he wants a go at it then." The girl looked at her Pokemon. "You two going to behave?"
Merenor took a moment to reply but nodded. Linnor waddled over to Valentine and tried tugging at her boot before starting off in a direction she hoped led to the place of food.

The Golbat went on to explain that not only were humans able to be bribed or fooled with the 'correct' behaviour, but that once you had food, if you did it long enough before the next meal time, you could misbehave for a while and then, if you switched back to good behaviour with enough time, you could even be rewarded for that good behaviour! Perhaps with some special treat. He'd paused while Valentine spoke to her two pokemon, looking a little bit smug as he turned to look at Tambrey.
Tam smirked "Good idea," then looked at her bat "and I have that same question for you, y'know. No flying off if y' smell cookies." Lasi grinned (it never did look sincere to her, even when he was trying to be) and dipped his whole body forward in a nod. Satisfied, she turned her attention back to Valentine and caught Linnor tugging at the other girl's boot. "Looks like someone wants t' lead the way."

Merenor waddled after Linnor. "Pri! Togipri!" The Igglybuff stopped at her friend's comment. She was going the wrong way? "Ig? Ig gy?"
Valentine watched as her Togepi grabbed Linnor's hand before walking in a different direction. "At least one of them knows where the food is." And somewhat knowing her Pokemon, it would definitely be the Togepi. "Don't get too far ahead guys!" she said. She followed the Pokemon to the cafeteria, walking at a slower pace than before, but enough so she could keep an eye on her two trouble makers as she walked with Tambrey.

Lasi watched the little pokemon with amusement while they figured out which way to go. He waddled along after them, a little ahead of the trainers, but also unhurried; just wanting to keep an eye on his new friends. He caught Val's shout and let out a little "Guh!" in reply; he'd help make sure they didn't.
Tambrey smiled at the little pair as they waddled along, hand-in-hand, followed by the pink bat; it was a scene that made her half-wish the base permitted cameras.
