"I'll clear it with your mother first, of course," she said, with a soft gleam in her golden eyes. "But, if you are willing, within two days. It will be a short journey if we cross downstream where the river is slowest. You don't mind a swim, do you?" She smiled.
This would go better than last time, and when she secured an alliance this time it would be sure to make her look better in the eyes of her alpha parents.

She was joking, right? Who minded a little dip in the river? Especially for something like this! How completely unexpected, for her to actually be looking forward to one of her aunt's lessons. It was like an alternate reality. A strange dream. But it was real, and what a grand adventure it would be!
Aine grinned in return. "I wouldn't miss it for the world."

"Well, then. Consider it an appointment. Mind that are on time, the day after tomorrow, and meet me here in this spot. And -- please, do try to mind your manners around the new wolves, won't you?"
Did that little gleam in her eye suggest that she was joking, just a little? It certainly seemed like a possibility.
Nodding to her niece, she smiled slightly and withdrew, heading back toward the heart of the forest. Well, there were no interlopers here. Surely the white youth would be safe. "You're excused to do as you will. I trust you can find your way home easily enough."
