Things were a little less funny now... But her grin was still there, if not her laughter. Did this new trainer of hers really know what she was doing? Nevertheless, she threw another punch at the furret.

Anna couldn't avoid the second attack, and felt the sting of the electricity. Hissing menacingly, she swiped again with shadowy claws.

"Focus Blast!" Zinnia shouted.
Dreydonna would definitely have to give Zinnia a good talking-to after this battle. And she'd give her some nice nightmares... And forget about that stupid zubat; Dreydonna was going to eat Zinnia's dreams for an entire week! This was not how her first stadium battle since her previous trainer was supposed to go.
Still, she might as well make this first battle as fun as possible. The greatest stars went out with the biggest boom! She disobeyed Zinnia and used Explosion. The gaseous ghost erupted right above Anna, cackling all the while.
"Ah! Dreydonna! Wha--? Return!" Zinnia was very relieved when her pokeball's red energy beam did manage to latch onto something and pull it back into the ball. She'd have to wait until later if she had indeed collected her entire pokemon, or if some of poor Dreydonna's bits would still be floating in the stadium when she got back.

Anna went flying from the force of the explosion, crashing into the side of another pillar. With a flexible twist, she managed to get turned to face the sheer stone, and sunk her claws in. She crawled swiftly to the top of the pillar and hauled herself to the flat top, panting. Looking over at her opponent's last location, Anna saw that she had been victorious. Her opponent had been fairly worthy, that last attack was powerful. But almost wasn't good enough. Anna had triumphed!
Shina worried when she saw Anna go flying, but relaxed when she climbed up to rest on the platform. "Good battle! Anna, return!" Shina smiled at the other trainer. "Maybe we can do this again sometime, that was a good battle!" Shina called.

Zinnia felt very embarrassed; that had been the worst and shortest battle she had ever participated in. She skulked out without a reply, beating a hasty retreat to the pokemon center. On top of that shame, she still was a bit worried about whether her exploded pokemon would be 100% there, and was nervously awaiting the opportunity to let 'Donna out again and find out.
Nervous? Oh yes, Zinnia was capable of that emotion!
