((Ah, I thought so, but I figured better to over shoot than under.))

Reaching the bottom, she had to thank her stars for no flooding, but that was all she was able to thank as the smell made her eyes rolled into the back of her head for a moment.

This was horrible, but she had to get through it. That that wasn't the worst of it ...it was the darkness.

In the darkness she couldn't see anything as only the light that came from above illuminated the concrete path and the canal that ran beside it. Once she left this place, it would be utter darkness as she reaches a hand up to Aella.

Suddenly a feeling of fear washed over her.

She would shake it away. She wasn't alone here, she didn't have to suffer alone in the darkness. Images of death and that smell ....it would reek like this place, but it wasn't the same.

She told herself before she would release her hold on the stairway and start her path into darkness ..with one hand press against the wall to make sure she didn't deviate from the path.

She should have felt more at home with this walk ...wasn't the so much like the path she had already chosen.

She told herself as Aella moved to her head. The pokemon's big ears would have to be their guide, besides, didn't the generate attract electric types anyway.

"Aella, you got the lead for this."

She told the pokemon as the Emolga would move up to her head. All the better to guide her through the darkness.

The darkness left her hearing sounds ...sounds she couldn't account for in the darkness. A splash, something scurrying ...and then ...something that made her skin crawl as she swore she heard something giving it's last call of death.

She wasn't sure what she was hearing, but since she felt no cracks of electricity from Aella nor the pokemon's fur standing on end ...she choose to simply ignore it as she continued deeper into the place.

Further in they continued to walk, the smell seemed to grow stronger at this intersection. Though why she couldn't know until she felt her foot splash into something unpleasant ...it would seem that there was even smaller canals here ...that ran through the cemented pathway.

Shaking her leg ...she would keep one hand agains the wall as she reaches with the other for the feel of cement once more. She didn't want to have to walk in this sludge ...and she would relieved to find it there.

Though there had been no warning from Aella of this, and she could only guess because it wasn't all that dangerous to her at the moment. Thus, she would continue onwards...

it is only in absolute darkness that one misses the light.

How far had she traveled? It was hard to judge distances without sight, and even harder to figure it out ....when there is nothing but darkness around you.

She sighed openly.

She was much more careful about where she put her foot down now. Testing the area before she would put her weight against it ..each step carefully done so as not to end up the muck again.

No, she didn't want to have another wet splash, especially considering she still had no idea what she put her foot into the first time.

Part of her longed for the light, but another part never wanted to see it again. One wish versus the other as Aella would shift on her head, and the girl freezes immediately.

Was there trouble up ahead?

Nothing but darkness..more darkness and darkness, as her mind would start to wonder as Aella would go still once more.

She remembered darkness, she remembered that night.

Her mind wandering further as she thought of that fateful day. She had been so stupid ...it had been a bright day, a beautiful day, and she had gone out to play like normal with her friends. Though it was her own pig-headness that she didn't return with them...she had wanted to play a little longer.

It had been dark that day, but not as dark as this. There was a moon overhead, and the stars shone ...how she missed those stars and simply gazing at them.

Time was slipping by, but she always kept track of it.

She would make it back long before it was time to shut those gates.

Light, soft but abrupt, would enter the girls world. It wasn't the bright clear light of the sun, nor the yellowish illumination of a lamp, but a dull green light which nearly melded with the scenery. Of course, that would be because it was an intrical part of her very surroundings. When Victoria drew close enough, she would find the source of the dull illumination was a moss, or rather a series of it, clinging to the walls and ceiling. In the darkness, the rootless plant was glowing, providing just enough light to see, and continuing to do so down the rest of the tunnel.

The light of the moss also allowed the child to see the Goldeen three feet in front of her, one which was clearly very very dead.

The light of the moss from a distances made her wary, especially considering she had no clue what was making it at first. But, Aella showed no sign of fear or aggression towards it so the girl continued forward.

For light in darkness ...was as inviting as it was dangerous. It was the main reason why she didn't have Aella use thundershock to light the place up so that she wouldn't be left completely in the dark.

This was a place where energy ran free ...she didn't want to accidentally blow the place up or kill herself by igniting something that might not work well with electricity. Also, she had no wish to call attention to herself with those burst of lights, so ....this moss wasn't just a welcome answer to her problem ...it was an answer to her prayers as she could finally see.

She had traveled quite a ways in here, and she was relieved to see that she wasn't heading into some dead end. A fear she had from the moment she started this walk as she looks at the dead goldeen on the ground.

The girl felt the hairs rise on the back of her neck.

Victoria wasn't in love with water types ...she cared less for anything that couldn't help her. But, she didn't like to see death either, and know that nothing was being done for it. Sure, she leaves bodies behind her, but those were her corpse ...those that she chose to kill. Thus, they were best left for meat for something else, but this Goldeen was simply waste.

That was never good ....as she looked around swiftly.

What had killed this pokemon? Made her wonder, but leaving it behind her ...would only cause whatever it is to come back ....so she would roll the small pokemon into the sludgy water ....never to be seen again.

Afterall, there was a good chance that even once she reached her destination she would have to come back. And it was all the better if there wasn't something waiting for her on the end.

If this also happen to be a way to give that body ....a better burier than simply rotten ...then it was two birds with one stone she had dealt with.

Deeper into the tunnels the girl would go, oblivious to the eyes which watcher her from amidst the murk. Muffled by the sludgy water, she would miss the snapping of jaws as the Goldeen's body was pulled below rather then simply sinking.

The dry reek of the area would suddenly grow worse, the wall of smell like walking into a concrete wall for even the most nasally insensitive. Worse yet, the odor would grow more terrible with each passing second,as if she were walking toward the source...or perhaps the source was walking toward her.

Slowly, a Trubbish would step into view of the child and her Pokemon...and unlike the one she'd encountered back on this island, this one acted precisely how it appeared.

Wearing a slight dazed expression, the Trubbish would scratch at it's stomach with partially rotted hands, then belch a small cloud of thick purple gas. Afterwards he would spit upon the ground, and scratch himself further, half lidded eyes now looking up at the girl.

One of his plastic textured ear tufts would lift up, the other would lower, then they would perform the reverse. Another scratch, a little picky at his teeth, and the disgusting little creature would finally speak ">...got any trash?<" He asked, sounding like a rather slovenly house-guest asking for a sandwich.

A shiver went down Aella's spine at those words...as Victoria had taken a few hasty steps back. Her hand going to pinch her nose as she tries to shut out as much of that smell as she can. The girl was only inches from holding her breathe instead of simply not breathing in at the moment .....as the pokemon with her nose pin didn't have that sort of trouble.

((We don't carry trash with us, but if you wish to go back down that tunnel ...I am sure you will find plenty to play with?))

The Emogla would declare even as Victoria's hand was going for a pokeball. She didn't understand not a word but only the fact that her path was being blocked by a creature that actually made the sewers smell worst.

For a moment the Trubbish would make no sound other then that of him chewing on something...exactly what, the girl and her Emolga likely didn't want to know. Finally, scratching his belly again, he would speak ">Down the tunnel's kinda far...<" He'd state, his tone rather bored and lazy ">...sure you couldn't make me some?<" The Trubbish asked, scratching his stomach a few more times.

Suddenly the cheeks of the Poison-Type would puff out, his eyes going a bit cross-eyed. For a moment, it almost looked like he was going to lose his lunch, a though worsened by the idea that he might then eat it. Lifting one small hand, the Trubbish would begin beating hard upon what passed for both his stomach and chest. Then his mouth would open, revealing row upon row of knife like teeth, and releasing a thick, stinging cloud of Poison Gas! As the belch came to an end, the Trubbish would seem oblivious to what he'd just put the girl and her Emolga in; if Victoria wasn't careful, both she and her Pokemon would be in a whole heap of trouble!

The girl actually took a few steps back as Aella would shake her head from side to side. A no, a big no ......as much of a no as she could possible show it. Though it seemed she was too late ...as her hand went to her mouth to cover it ...even as Victoria recognized what he had done as an attack.

It would seem that there was going to be a fight on her hands, but she wasn't about to let the Trubbish get the best of her .....as she would literally use Aella's pokeball then.

She couldn't get pass the gas attack, but like hell she would allow it to effect Aella. Besides, she had a better pokemon to deal with the Trubbish as she tries to hold her own breathe as the Emolga disappeared in a flash of red light.

There was no stopping that Gas however, the stench was too powerful, the poison too strong. Though Aella had been saved, Victoria would not be so lucky. Poison was Poison, whether you were human or Pokemon. The Poison Gas would enter her lungs and spread to be bloodstream. Colour would rise to her cheeks, not the typical red one would expect, but a misty deep purple. The Trainer had been poisoned and not the Pokemon!

...And there the Trubbish would continue to stand, simply waiting it out for the girl to fall. Once the poison took it's course, she and all her stuff would technically be trash.

A hacking cough would escape her ...as Victoria stumbles backwards. She knew that this could happen, but it was better that it was her than her pokemon as she reaches one hand to her belt. She would pulls the pokeball off of her belt as she held it upwards.

The pokemon would pop out as she reaches out to catch the Horsea.

Even though there was water around, she wasn't about to let her swim in it ....as she held Torrent tightly.

This would be the Horsea's battle this time as she felt just a bit sick. Another harsh cough escaping her.

"USe Bubbles."

The Horsea looked upwards at Victoria then. The girl sounded funny as he saw that purplish tint to her cheek ... a tint that looked even more sickly with edges of green in the light of that moss.

Turning her head, she would use bubble once more.

The Trubbish's eyes would go wide in response to the sight of those bubbles, a shudder running through his entire body straight from his soul. Was...was that water? Pure and unpolluted? CLEAN!? ">OH ARCEUS IT BUUUUUURNS!!!<" The Poison-Type would scream, his voice high and girly...and the Bubble's hadn't even touched him yet.

Briefly, the Pokemon would run around in circles, panicking like it was the end of all things. In doing so he would bring himself closer to the Horesea, oddly having managed to avoid most of the Bubbles in the process. Leaping up, the Trubbish would bring one sludgy hand forward in an attempt to slap the Water-Type in a rather straightforward Pound. ">HOW DARE YOU TRY AND CLEAN ME!<"

It was a single attack, but it took almost all of the fight out of the Horsea at once as Victoria actually jumped back. Though it wasn't in enough time as the pokemon in her arms would be slapped into the ground and after one hard bounce the sludgy water.

Torrent wasn't going to be happy as the girl does a quick skip of her own ....she hated to have to use her item so soon. Though there was no other choice, and her eyes would literally zero in on the Trubbish.

This was one pokemon whom life expectancy had just shorten to just a few hours .....as the girl would reach into the water as Torrent's head came back up. The smell horrible as the Horsea seemed to be in pain .....as she scoops her out and pulls out a potion to spray her with.

Knocking the sludge off as well.....as the Horsea's would blink.

He had been the protector of the seas, but he wasn't as much of a fighter on the land. It was a fact that Victoria could see a flaw, but it was one that he would have to overcome as the Horsea's eyes were locked upon he enemy.

This time, he wouldn't be easily harmed.
