Niji went flying toes over tail, getting quite dirty in the process. Annoyed at the mess of his coat, Niji clambered back to his feet and sent a flurry of sand at the puppy. Lets see how he likes his coat getting dirty!

Ozar yelped as sand and dirt flew into his face and coat. Shaking his head furiously to clear his vision he growled.
"C'mon Ozar, hit him with another flamethrower!" Kate yelled. At this point she just wanted to beat the eevee into smithereens more than catch it! Her and Ozar's pride was at stake here.
Ozar took a deep inhale and exhaled another great plume of fire in the eevee's direction.

((You took too much off. Moves that are x2 effective don't hit for double damage, they hit for +50, so you should only have lost 150HP. Don't worry, that's a really common early mistake.))
The inhale telegraphed the coming flames for Niji, and he was able to dart out of the way of the impressive blast. Niji sent more stars at the Growlithe, showing off his own ranged attack.

Ozar growled as stars bit at his skin again. However he moved, he couldn't seem to dodge the darn things. Kate growled right along with him.
"Come on Ozar, take another bite out of him!" she called.
Ozar yipped once, and leaped at the the Eevee, fangs bared.
(( Okay I re-calculated the damage so it should be right I think ))

Niji yelped and sent a hard, fast paw of sand at the Growlithe's face to get him to let go. That had hurt!

Clumps of sand flew into Ozar's coat and face. Yelping, he tried to clear it with his paws.
"Come on, Ozar! Don't take that! Bite worked last time, use another!" Kate ordered.
Shaking his head to remove the remainder of sand from his eyes, Ozar snarled and ran at the Eevee once more.

The second bite wasn't as hard, but that didn't mean Niji liked it. Perhaps a second lesson would help the puppy learn! Another pawful of stinging sand was flung at the mutt's face.

((Ah, sorry, I forgot all about the type disadvantages! This HP should be correct ))
Ozar yelped as more sand was flung into his face. Growling menacingly, he rapidly swung his head back and forth to dislodge the clumps of dirt from his fur and face.
Kate noticed her Growlithe was getting weak, but she wouldn't give up just yet!
"Come on Ozar, rally and use Flamethrower!" she yelled, pointing her finger at the Eevee that was giving her and her Pokemon so much trouble.
Ozar nodded in understanding and took a deep inhale, exhaling a large plume of flames in the Eevee's direction.

Niji yelped and did the sensible thing, dropped and rolled. Then he dug his front paws into the dirt, and started digging.

Ozar let out a loud yelp as he was hit by the Eevee once more. Panting in exhaustion, he dropped to the ground and tried to catch his breath.
Kate sighed, knowing that she'd been beat.
"Return, Ozar. You did a great job, buddy." She glared at the Eevee that had knocked her only Pokemon out as her Growlithe returned to his pokeball.
"Tch. You win this time! Let's hope we don't cross paths again," she ground out. Crossing her arms over her chest, she turned her back to the Eevee and started her trek to the nearest Pokemon Center.

Niji quickly darted away into the underbrush before the trainer could return. He needed a bath and a nap, in that order.
