"Oh, I know," said Fritz cheerfully, settling down on the box and debating which sauce he wanted for himself. He gave H ebe a bright smile, despite the fact that she was mildly reprimanding him, and added "I'm just teasing you, darling cat, you know I know how things work."
He winked, and set down both containers of sauce beside the styrofoam box of linguini, which was on the ground for the cat to reach more easily.
"Of course I did," said Fritz jovially, and pulled out another box, holding it up. "Mushroom linguini with Alfredo sauce."

"Be glad that I adore that silver tongue of yours, my friend!" She giggled a bit before practically shoving her face into the noodles. This wasn't Lady and the Tramp. She wasn't going to have a romantic date with noodle kisses. She was just about gobbling down the tasty food as fast as her little mouth could manage.
Eventually, the manx needed a "drink" and soon enough she lifted her head from the buttery mess (which had somehow managed to partially drench her facial fur) so she could lap up some of the white sauce.
"Do you have a girlfriend, Fredboberick? I know... random question... but... you are pretty charming... it'd be a shame if you didn't have the girls fawning all over you!"
A pause.
"...oh... and could you spare a kitty a mushroom?"
Apparently a full container of noodles just for her and two sauces wasn't enough.

"You love me," said Fritz conversationally and blew a playful kiss in the cat's direction. He settled down eating, both of them quiet for several minutes - save for the sound of chewing - before H ebe spoke again, her question making Fritz pause in the act of eating, his fork halfway to his mouth. Slowly he lowered it, a slightly crooked smile on his face.
"Ah," he said, and then paused, his fork still suspended over his box of food and not actually in it yet. "Well. About that..."
Fritz trailed off, looking down at his food. After a moment, he stuck his fork through a mushroom and held it out to H ebe, still smiling - though this time it was a much quieter one, almost rueful in nature.
"I don't have a girlfriend," he said.

********* was still a cat. Every so often she was prone to react like a cat to certain things. The moment that he waved the mushroom in front of her, she rather suddenly struck, both paws latching onto the mushroom with her claws. For a brief moment, there was an almost intense amount of focus that the little manx had on the piece of fungus.
However, with a couple blinks, she eventually realized how silly she probably looked. "Oh... sorry... kitty brain took over for a moment there!" If it was possible for a cat to blush, she probably would have. She recovered quick enough, eventually pulling the mushroom off of the plastic fork and rolling back slightly onto her back. With her legs in the air and her back on the ground, she proceeded to start nibbling on the piece of shared food.
Between chews, she commented "...that's a shame... though the next question is... ... ...is it by choice... ... or do I need to start helping you get a girl?"
