She did fall, grunting, feeling pain snake through her body like lightning as it impacted with the ground. Her knee throbbed and would swell painfully, she was sure of it. As it was at the moment she didn't want to try putting weight on it and rolled to avoid any other attacks while she was prone. While on the ground, too, it was easy to do that with fists but not really with legs. She watched him with angry violet eyes.
She moved up and onto her knees, biting back a cry of pain. She had a bruise forming on her chest where he'd hit her, too. She couldn't kill him but they certainly weren't sparring, either. This was an earnest fight between enemies. What they didn't know and would soon be brought to their attention was that the woman was slowly regaining consciousness. Her energy hadn't been missing from her for very long.
The green haired woman leveled her gaze at Benitoite, rising to her feet slowly. "You've broken my heart." she told him honestly, thinking he could make of that what he would.

Watching her drop he continued his assault on her, or he would have had she not been rolling out of the way. Watching her on the ground he watched as she brought herself to her knees.
"Going to get up and try for a second round?" He asked, arrogance coming through as he spoke, his arms folding across his chest as he looked down at her. "I assure you that should you attempt it you won't win." He wouldn't permit it, he wasn't going to lose to this knight.
Standing there arms crossed, and pale eyes looking down at the green haired knight. His weight shifted so one hip jutted out. "No, I haven't. You're still alive aren't you." He spoke, cold. He didn't understand her meaning behind it, didn't know he knew her. He didn't know he really was breaking her heard, after all how could he break the heart of someone he'd never met before now?

"Only because I know you can't kill me."
He didn't have the heart for it, or so she'd always assumed - a gentle soul on the wrong side. But, as she suspected, he completely mistook her words. That was alright. He didn't need to understand her intentions. It didn't matter to her what else he took from the fight. Her heart was broken by him. She looked down at the ground.
The woman behind them stirred, making a small noise as she opened her eyes. She was groggy, out of it, and didn't comprehend things at first. Then she started to gain her senses again and took that there were two people in front of her in costume - terrorists. Shalott hardened her stance, willing to beat him senseless at this point. Her violet eyes showed no mercy as they looked at him.
Then the scream rang out behind them.

She seemed rather sure of her words, and yet didn't know him? Was she foolish or just hopeful and assuming? Laughing, not an outright joy filled laugh, his weight shifted and he kicked out at her from where he stood in front of her.
"That presume too much." He wouldn't tell her that she was right, he wouldn't let something like that be known. Let he think what she wanted of him, maybe she'd think him the killer he really was, but couldn't be now.
That scream caught his attention, before he could do anything more. So the energy orb had shattered, lovely. He'd known he had more energy to gather tonight but didn't plan to make up for lost energy, he'd take stock of what of his gathered energy had been lost as soon as this was over with. "Looks like you got your wish, do you wish to continue this dance?" Slate eyes once more trained on the knight before him.

"If I have to, I will."
She grabbed his leg as he lashed out, taking the ankle and twisting it to throw him off balance. She still wasn't trying to hurt him. Like him, she could not bring herself to kill anyone and, like him, she had no idea who she'd be taking from her own life if she tried. She just wanted to keep him off balance and prove to him that she wasn't as weak as he assumed.
The woman behind them seemed dazed but flipped open her phone, intent to call the police. That would interrupt the combatants if nothing else would. But neither of them were thinking of that, obviously. Right now it seemed like a grudge match and only Kyndall's heart was aching for it.
If she succeeded in getting him down she'd drop on top of him, trying to get him to submit or give up or something. The whole point was that she shouldn't be taken as lightly as he seemed to want to take her.

Crying out in surprise as he found his ankle grabbed he went down with a thud. The air leaving his lungs suddenly from the impact with the ground, he was not expecting it. At least he'd been able to twist around to protect his head with his arms. He didn't need to smack his head off the ground, that could land him with a concussion.
The female on the bench was unnoticed as she got someone on her phone who she could speak to, frantically telling them what was going on and had happened.
While she landed on him he reached up with his hands and sunk both hands into her hair and gripped. That long hair, like his own only more so, was a good target and she was right there on top of him. So while he worked to catch his breath his fingers tightened in her hair, curling and pulling.
He didn't know that cops, who weren't too far away, were soon to be dispatched to their location. The cops of Destiny city, or at least particular ones, were serious about catching the terrorists which plagued the city.

Hair pulling. She was disappointed. And also in pain.
Shalott yelped as he yanked and tilted her head back to avoid as much of the impact as possible. Which only meant he needed to pull harder. She belted him across the chin as hard as she could from her position and with her constraints which wasn't as hard as it should have been. But maybe it was enough to break his hold. Maybe.
The police promised to be there quickly and were sending an ambulance for the woman just in case. Shalott was oblivious to this as she wrestled with Benitoite. He was stronger than he, by a lot, but she had the advantage of knowing how to fight and inflict damage. His hits just hurt a lot more. She could feel bruises forming all over and thought she might be bald by the time he was done in her hair.
Sirens sounded in the distance.

Sirens weren't a new sound to hear in the city, considering it doubled as a war zone. But he didn't know where they were headed, there was no way to know that for absolute certainty unless he were the one in the car responding. This did however distract him enough that her hit to his chin did knock his head to the side, his teeth clicking together hard.
Slowly he turned his head back to face her, perhaps a bit too slowly. His hold had loosened, lucky for her. He wasn't done with her though, he wanted to leave a lasting impression just in case those sirens were indeed for them.
Wriggling under her, as if to get away, he managed to get a leg bent and pressed up as hard and as fast as he could with his knee. For good measure, and in case that didn't work his fingers became something like claws and went for her neck. Let her bear his marks for others to see, and try and hide it.
Next time, if there was such a time, he would have as much skill as her. He knew he had her beat strength wise, no doubt about that, but she had him in form and movements. Though he knew that to someone trained like her she may be predictable, so he did see a downside to training in forms like her. But he would be more skilled the next time, and hair pulling worked every time - it hurt!
As the siren's got louder, the cops nearing, he heard them seem to not pass on by. s**t! Now he did get up and out from under the knight. "Your lucky the cops are here." She was, he wouldn't allow himself to lose to her, so she'd have to lose to him and he doubted she'd enjoy that. On his feet, bruises he could feel forming, he gave her one more glare before he was gone with a a sound of moving air. He had a home to get to and bruises to get salve on. He didn't need them lasting too long and being seen.

"You're lucky I don't have the mind or the heart to kill you." she returned.
His knee missed the mark but his claws did not. They raked acoss her neck, tearing skin, and she cried out in pain, her hand flying up to where the blood started spilling down. There was apparently no room on the side of chaos for true compassion or warmth. She'd misjudged him, badly, and it broke her heart and caused her more pain than the bruises or the torn skin of her neck.
But he was right. The sirens were getting closer. She needed to get out of there. Summoning her strength, she jumped up, making two quick bounds to reach the roof. There was only one place she could go after a fight like this. Only one person she could trust with her secrets and her heartache.
Really, she was lucky she'd gone against a Captain and hadn't gotten broken bones or died. He'd have tried, she had not doubt, if she lingered any longer. She moved to Tony's roof and hid in a dark alley, powering down. Then she moved to his front door and knocked, the tears already gushing from her eyes.
