Another Soquili of interest? Terra's mind whirled. Just how many would she need to track down. A snarl ripped from her throat. This wasn't going to be as simple as she thought. Agitation rippled through her body as her frustration began to grow. It'd do no good to attack this stallion in front of her though. He was giving her answers at the moment. Maybe later?
"I seek this one individual because he alone will give me what I seek. If he refuses well then I will be very angry. My past is a blur except for what I know from the carnival. I do not like being kept in the dark. This is why I need to find him. That stupid Barker."
Terra gave Croatoan a funny look before she fell into silence. She loathed the leader of the carnival. Absolutely loathed.

The Croatoan stepped back at the mention of her quarry. Him. That one. The one who had lured him to the carnival. His lips pulled back in a grimace, large mouth stretching almost to his ears. "The Barker. The Croatoan doubts that one will have your answers, but you're certainly welcome to try and rip them from him. In fact, the Croatoan hopes you do." He sighed and shook his head. "Alas, his location is unknown."

Terra felt differently about Barker than Croatoan did. Some niggling little doubt that was impossible to ignore. Even if he didn't have the answers the meeting would still be beneficial to her. Terra snarled quietly as she began to pace back and forth. Her sideways glances towards the stallion came more frequently. Something was going on in her mind and the batwalker was tempted to follow through on her plan to make sure that no word got out of what she was doing. Terra shifted her gaze again before freezing on the spot. Her muscles quivered with tension as she spat at the ground in front of Croatoan.
"I believe differently. As the leader of the carnival Barker would be a most valuable fount of information. As for you ... well you aren't that important to me anymore."
Terra paused for but a moment before she sprang forth towards the stallion. Her expression was maniacal and she did not attempt to slow her speed. The claw tips on her wings slashed the air as she continued her charge.

The Croatoan had expected the attack, but not exactly anticipated it. He braced himself as the mare launched herself at him, lowering his head, his glowing antlers thrust forward. He had no doubt his father would protect him in this place, but evil was still evil and he should have driven the cursed creature from his swamp the moment he saw her. He snorted and stood his ground, prepared to battle with the dark one.

Terra noted the stallion lower his antlers as she charged. The batwalker swerved a little to the right. Her new path would not clear her entirely of Croatoan's antlers but it would prevent a total collision and possible impalement. Her claw came up as her momentum carried her past the stallion. A blaze of fire erupted along her side as she felt the impact of his horns. Her clawed wingtip slashed wildly and without due care. The scent of blood filled her nostrils and Terra snarled.
He'd made her bleed. He'd pay for that dearly.

Croatoan snarled as the mare careened past, her clawed wing tearing a gash in his side. It was not deep, but stung all the same. He turned and stared back at the mare, panting. She was injured as well. Good. It'd nearly taken his head off the way she'd hit his antlers. At least it had been worth it.
Only, now she was mad, more so than before. The stallion had no doubt that she was insane. He knew well enough the monsters that wore the pelts of others. He lowered his head again, though kept his eyes on the mare. "Do not fight the Croatoan in his father's swamp. You will lose here. Best to be on your way to the remnants of the carnival. You'll find them to the far southwest of here, far from the Croatoan's swamp. If you stay, you will die." There seemed to be a thick air of danger hanging in the swamp now as fireflies drifted up from the grasses and nooks to swirl lazily about the stallion.

Terra's side burned with the wound she'd picked up. Her gaze narrowed on Croatoan as she observed the gash her claw had made. As the stallion issued his warning Terra lazily licked at the blood that had settled on her claw. Truth be told the taste of the copper liquid fueled her desire to fight even more. Her ears twitched though. Wait a minute.
Terra's posture changed as the fireflies swirled around Croatoan. Well now - she had a new direction to follow. Snorting softly at the sense of a lost fight and possible chance to test her skills Terra swung her head back and forth. Conflict raged across her expression. She didn't want this stallion to spread tales of her but there was no chance to really enforce her order. Snapping her teeth together in aggravation Terra snarled in defiance before abruptly changing to her bat form. She launched herself into the air before flying past the stallion. She was tempted to lash out with her wings but instead she merely flew close enough to Croatoan's ears before screeching loudly. Then she was off; her wings giving her a powerful lift into the night sky.

The Croatoan's ears flattened at the screeching, keeping his antlers pointed at the creature as she flew past. He would have to be more wary of strangers in his territory from now on. Perhaps it was time to rise up the following of worshipers to help keep the swamp protected. He headed off to find his mate and tell her of his plan.
