Axel Flourish

PostPosted: Sat Jan 21, 2012 6:56 pm

Axel's heart rate began to quicken in pace as she heard the sound of footsteps coming towards her hiding place. It didn't sound like it was more than one person, but that didn't mean the Drac's hadn't split up to cover more ground. Cautiously, Axel went to give herself a peak in the direction of the noise, only to recoil at the sound of the person's voice. She sure as hell didn't seem like she was going to be friendly, what with the threats and all. Pushing herself tightly against the skip, Axel took a moment to assess the situation she was in. "s**t s**t s**t!"She didn't want to seem weak if this person was looking for a fight. In fact, she wanted to look as threatening as possible, but how was she going to manage that..?

Looking to her waist, Axel spotted her screw driver and duct tape. Maybe she could make it look like she was also armed? That would have to do for now. It was that or she started throwing her tinned food at the stranger, a resource she didn't fancy giving up all too easily. Fumbling slightly with the tape, Axel managed to pull together what might (from a distance) look like some kind of blaster. Taking a moment to gather herself, Axel pressed herself careful against the building, before taking a deep breath and adjusting her mask, ready for the next part of her shabbily improvised plan. "Time for the poker face."

"Oh..." Axel stepped confidently away from her hiding spot, facing the stranger face on, 'blaster' held with both hands infront of her, aiming at Sunshine. "I don't think you'll be wanting to do that." Whilst Axel's eyes screamed 'don't mess with me' her whole body was shaking quietly. She was terrified the stunt she'd pulled would land her in more trouble than just before. She'd taken a laser to the knee before now and she knew how much it stang. Thankfully, the scarf around her mouth managed to hide the fact her lips were quivering in fear for her own life. "Now drop the blaster..." she started slowly, "Turn around. And leave."

It would be a lie to say Axel was good at trusting others. She was even wary of killjoys. Thanks to an ex-friend of hers turning out to be a double agent, she wasn't going to let anyone have a free pass when it came to things like that.

Cyanide awoke as he felt his arm being moved back around Symptom's shoulder. With a smile he gave her a slight hug.
"Good morning, beautiful." he said softly with a little yawn.
He didn't get the best sleep in the world, but he didn't care because she was with him.
Damn he'd become soft. But it was still a good feeling.
Cheesyness aside, he was awake.

"Did you sleep any?" he asked still holding the girl.
"I really don't know about you, but I need a change of clothes."

"Oh dear..." said the killjoy as she blinked at the sight of a couple of ladies in combat stance on the side of a shack down a side road. Adjusting the belt with her blaster she tugged a cigarette out the pack in her pocket and stuck it in her mouth, steering a little poorly off road and around some rocks so the girls wouldn't be close enough to pay her much mind. Switching hands on the wheel she pulled out her lighter now, trying to light her cigarette as quickly as possible so her driving would not suffer further. Burning her fingers slightly, she muttered curses as she shoved the thing back in pocket and took a puff, refocusing on the shack now so close. She hadn't been driving more than an hour, and seeing a possible spot of habitation was extremely promising, even the possible hostility close by was comforting, they weren't dracs!

Pulling up cautiously behind some bushes and rocks to conceal the van, a short walk from the shack, Treble Tank grabbed some things from the seat next to her, a couple of tin cans of food, a few tapes, bandannas, instant coffee mix, and a few packs of cigarettes, shoving them all into a tattered bag, meant as a peace offering to whoever might be in the shack. Checking quickly around, and still only seeing the girls out there close to a scuffle, she shuffled herself out, making sure to lock up, and conceal the van with some greenery before making her way over.

"Hey!" she shouted, walking up slowly, she realized now there was no way she could completely avoid the girls in the open desert if she wanted to investigate the shack. "Does anyone want something that's not dog food to eat?" Putting on what she hoped was a nice smile she took another few steps forward, keeping her arms up in the air with the bag of gifts.

"Morning." Symptom smiled in reply, eying the broadcasting system to the
left of her.

"I slept really well thanks." she lied flawlessly, feigning rubbing sleep from
her eyes, finding it hard to hide a grin as Cyanide talked about a required
change in clothes. To be totally honest, he wasn't the only one who could do
with getting a new wardrobe. Symptom's jeans were torn, and her jacket? Well it
only had one sleeve and wasn't really in any state to be keeping her wam
anymore. "Haha... You're not the only one." she sighed, tugging at tear
around her knee. "Last time I checked there was a load of clothes in the
old store cupboard over there? Not much choice, but they look like they're only
dusty rather than disgusting."
Dusty, being about as clean as they
were going to get considering they'd be routing around for something to wear.
At least they wouldn't smell so much anymore.

"Feel free to have a nose, but do it quickly. I have some good news."
she added, flashing a smile as she winked at the young man next
to her. Not waiting for Cyanide to get first picks, the young woman dived into
the clothes pile first, pulling out some stuff which didn't look too torn up or
ridiculous, the idea of them not being torn up playing first in her mind. Finally,
she managed to grab what she deemed to be acceptable, and promptly threw
the clothes, taking no note of the fact Cyanide was still stood right there. She
felt comfortable enough with him that she didn't see it as an issue anyway.
Hopefully, Cyanide would find his own set of clean clothes quickly, so they
could set off to zone four and see who'd gathered at the co-ordinated she'd
sent out. She'd already noted Treble's response, and she was just waiting
to get out there and go find the girl!

Axel Flourish

Axel heard the van before she saw the other killjoy emerging from the behind the bushes nearby. Now she was beginning to get more and more suspicious. Had the Dracs disguised themselves to gain her trust? It would make sense now that two of them had turned up, with what sounded like a van which was around the same type as the one she had looted previously that day. But what was she going to do now? She couldn't exactly fashion another 'weapon' in plain sight of the one she was already facing off. That would blow her cover. "What to do... what to do..." She hadn't even caught sight of the new person yet.

As the new killjoy spoke, Axel shoved her hand into her tool belt and pulled out whatever it was she'd grabbed first, and held it in the direction of the new voice. Whilst this one did seem to be more friendly, she wasn't about to drop her aim. These 'Dracs' might be just as good an actor as she was. Finally taking her eyes of Sunshine, Axel swallowed hard before turning to face Treble, only to see the tool she'd pulled from her belt was in fact, a chisel. "I can work with that."

"Don't think you can fool me that easily." she called in response, her eyes narrowing as she noticed this stranger had her arms above her head, and seemed to be offering food. No, this was all just a stupid trick to lul her into a false sense of comfort. "Just let me go. That way there's no reason for me to kill either of you. And you know I will. You've got my card, you know what I'm capable of." Again, the girl was all talk, but only those who knew her would be able to decipher it from her body language. Now all she had to do was think of an escape. Right now, she was stuck between a rock and a hard place, and she wanted out.
PostPosted: Sun Jan 22, 2012 5:23 am

Sunshine stood confusedly looking at the girl with blue hair for a minute. She would have gladly lowered her gun, had she not been pointed at herself. Her head whipped around at the sound of somebody approaching, though.
"Food! Yeah, I'm in! Forgot to pack some before I left, stupid me. I had a can of fake beans n' everything!" Pocketing the ray gun that was in her hands, she dashed over to the stranger offering food. She suddenly turned around to the blue-haired girl.
"Hey, Territorial Chick! You in or what? You know, I wasn't actually about to blast a hole in your face. Thought you were a Drac or somethin'."
It was Sunshine's way of making peace, she would never hurt a fellow KJ in her life. As she once told a friend of hers, "I would do anything for a fellow Killjoy, except give them chocolate. It's my chocolate, b***h."
Her language was quite a bit colourful for someone her age, but then again, so was everything about her. She looked at the girl with a smile on her face and holding out her arm invitingly.

As the black and blue haired girl stood with her hair standing up like an angry cat Treble only stared with an eyebrow raised. She took a step back, hands held up defensively "Hey I don't want any trouble, I'm not going to make you do anything. I just want to have a look around the shack." She shrugged and turned her attention suddenly to the girl she had shortly had a standoff with, now running over to me excited about food. She laughed slightly, and tossed her a can of dehydrated peaches and some coffee as she tried some sort of apology with the other girl, who wasn't armed or particularly dangerous looking despite her talk. But she decided not to take any chances. "Alright, I'm going in the shack now, and you can wave whatever you want at me but I'm not going to make any moves at you or anything. If you want anything I can give you some food like I just gave this lady. No trouble please, okay? Alright. Goodbye." With that she made a wide arc around her to the door in the back, ignoring her and trying to seem as innocent as possible.

Reaching the door, she inched it open cautiously, "Hello...?" She called into the dark

Axel stood her ground as the others tried to speak with her. She still wasn't totally convinced, but that's what you got for living life in the zones by yourself. You became neurotic to an extreme, and found it ridiculously hard to trust a soul who walked your way. She felt slightly more calm as the two girls met each, meaning Axel could keep her eye on the two of them without too much bother. One bonus. The confidence only grew when the first girl lowered her weapon. Now she was in what she would deem as a more powerful position. Drac's wouldn't be stupid enough to do something like that unless there was another waiting behind her...

Dropping her 'weapons' to her side, Axel stole a glance behind her to check her surrounds, before turning back to the girl who first addressed her. "The name's Axel." she almost spat, still not totally comfortable with what was unraveling before her eyes. She paused for a moment, looking to the next girl as she continued to speak, and took this moment to put her tools back onto her belt, not once removing her eye contact. It was only at the offer of food that the girl paused for a moment, her stomach silently pleading with her to accept the peace offering.

Sighing, the girl remained silent, stubborn to her own need of food for the time being. Sure, she had the cans by the skip, but... ah, who was she kidding. "If...if you guys want, there's some food by the skip. I looted it about half an hour ago, and it's tinned so you can take it where you want." She spoke quietly, her tone now apologetic as she allowed herself to calm down a little bit. She wasn't ready to approach the two just yet, but she also wasn't ready to leave. Maybe sticking with these two whilst the Drac's passed her by would be a safer idea. At the very least, she knew one of them has a blaster, so they were already in a better position than she was with her screw driver and duct tape. "I'll go fetch it." she finished, backing away from the two rather than turning round to head towards her store of tins. Once she was safely around the corner, she bent down to pick up the five tins. Hopefully this would stop them from thinking she was a total psycho.

((Just to let y'all know, I got myself grounded from the interwebs for 2 weeks, so I have to RP either from my 3DS or from the public library. Needless to say, replies will be a little slow and very short until I get internet piveleges back.))

Sunshine smiled at the coffee and peaches she had been tossed. This would feed her for the next day or two if she ate it sparingly. Regarding the girl who called herself Axel, she stuck out her hand.
“Th' name's Sunshine, or Atomic Sunshine if you so prefer. A pleasure to meet you.” She tried her best to look friendly, but she knew she was probably covered in dust and blood from her bicycle crash earlier. Not the most welcoming sight, she was sure. The mention of more food got her excited all over again, though she did feel a little sad that she had nothing to share, herself other than the CDs in her bag, which she really wanted to hang on to. Deciding to keep some semblance of a conversation going, she looked to the older girl who had handed her the food.
“So, did you hear the morse code broadcast as well? Weirdest s**t I've ever heard, I swear. Who the hell actually knows any morse nowadays, anywho? Then again, I guess we're all crazy according to those corporate bitches called BL/ind, eh?”
Sunshine was quite curious as to what the rest of the message had said, or at least if this chick knew the person on the other end of the radio who had sent it.

Still waiting for reply from the darkness within before going any further, Treble only half listened to the girl spattered in blood and covered in dust. She caught the name, Atomic Sunshine, and nodded in response, "I'm Treble Tank, nice to meet you too." then noticing the outstretched hand she awkwardly caught it before it was withdrawn, "Sorry sorry, it's just I'm a little anxious." shrugging and making an odd face she scuttled inside a little as the girl continued to talk, paying a little more attention as she mentioned the broadcast. "Oh! Yeah I learned morse code a long time ago, didn't think it would come in handy...but Electric and Cyanide...we used to run together through the zones with a few others. I haven't heard from anyone in months, and we did some bad a** rescue missions." The girl chuckled, her face softening at the memories of long drives in her van, the talks they'd had and the fights they had been through together, "I really want to find them, no one else seems to be left." She gave a soft sigh, moving a little farther in, calling out, "Hello...?"

Sunshine nodded, and went to stand beside Treble as she squinted into the darkness. Suddenly, she was struck by an idea of sorts. Dashing off, she scavenged around the bushes until she found a sizable branch, about as long as her arm and a little bit thicker. Pulling out a strip of her shredded sock from her duffel bag, she wrapped it around the end of the branch and began fumbling about in the back pockets of her shorts for her emergency matchbook. That retrieved, she walked back to the doorway and set the stip of cloth alight. Shoving the end of the flame through the entrance, being excruciatingly careful not to hit Treble or Axel, she stepped inside with the makeshift torch held aloft, ray gun held at the ready.
“Come out, come out, wherever you are. You can't hide in here forever, duckie. We'll find you eventually.”
Sure, she sounded a little psychotic, but was there ever a time that she didn't? She had a nasty track record for freaking people out when she first met them, but she never really did it on purpose. She just was a smidgeon socially awkward, and didn't know how to interact with people very well, leaving her with only a small group of very patient friends. She supposed that she liked it better that way, anyways.
She turned to look back at Treble, a look of what could have been relief on her face, and possibly puzzlement.
“Treble, I don't think anyone's here. Should we split up and check the second floor, just in case? The staircase looks rotten through in places, but if you dance around the rot, you should get upstairs in one piece.”
Sunshine held the torch as high as she could and listened carefully, but all she could hear was the skittering of a desert rat hiding from the brightness of the flame. She had been a bit of a gourmand before this whole thing started, but these days, she'd eat nearly anything if it meant food in her belly. Hell, even the rat looked appetizing right now.

Cyanide smiled to himself as Symptom took no time before diving into the clothes.
Once she had done that however, he was soon to follow. "I don't like that or that or that..." he said tossing them to the side.
"Oh neat. And that's cool too..."
Pretty soon he had only new gloves, a new pair of pants, a new shirt, and some converse.

"There were no cool jackets, so I'm keeping my old one on." he said flashing a large smile to Symptom.
In a sexy montage of changing his clothes, he finally stood at the ready.

"Okay dahling, what's the good news?"

Symptom grinned as she watched Cyanide root through the clothes and pick out
some of his favourites. She was pretty impressed, he had a good style going for
him. Grinning to herself as she watched him replace his jacket, Symptom
walked over to him as if she were to step behind him and out of the front door.
Allowing her hand to stoke against his momentarily, she paused, glancing over
her shoulder to him as she put her other hand on the door handle.

"You're surprise is waiting for you in zone four, so we'd better get moving." she
grinned, this time gripping his hand, entwining her fingers between his as she
walked through the now open door. "We'd better move quickly before she thinks
the whole thing was a scam!"
she added, winking at him now as she caught
sight of his bike. Maybe that would be good for taking them that long way
towards the inner zones. "Lead the way, sweetheart."

Cyanide looked up from his super sexy montage and saw Symptom watching him. "Yeah I know...I'm sexy." he said with a smile.
From the s**t that was in the closet, he had to admit he looked pretty good.
He looked better before the Danger Days, but that's when he had more to work with.
And (he would never tell any of the Killjoys in a million years) he was a vest and tie kind of guy.
Very hipsterish in a way, but hey he was a teenager.
He would definitely dress like that again if he could though.
Once again, he'd never tell anyone that.

"You're surprise is waiting for you in zone four, so we'd better get moving."

He followed the girl outside and saw her look at the bike. He walked over, picked it up off the ground, and started it. Sitting there revving the engine, making sure it was still worked after that slam, he motioned for Symptom to get on.

The Sunshine girl was sort of strange, but it didn't particularly phase Treble, as long as she didn't pull out a knife and start foaming at the mouth she didn't have much to complain about. As she wrapped up a handy torch she decided that it wouldn't be a terribly pain to keep her around, besides, dangerous words coming out of the tiny thing were cute. She nodded at her plan, walking in farther to see sunlight coming through cracks in the ceiling here and there. Wiggling her eyebrows at Atomic Sunshine she set off cautiously creeping up the stairs, testing each part with the tip of her shoe as she inched up, anticipating something to give at any moment. It was squishy in some parts, but keeping to the sides she got all the way up the stairs with a bit of sweat and nothing more than a racing heart.

Upstairs there were more holes in the ceiling, and it was mostly light. Blue and yellow light filtered through the dirty windows, and cobwebs covered nearly everything. There was mostly trash littered across the floor, but she came upon the happy discovery of a few old books from the times before Danger Days. All were ones she had never seen before, The Beautiful and The Damned, Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Outsiders. Treble wiggled her eyebrows again and giggled, shoving them into her pack before continuing to look around. The room was small, and open space with a small table and a solitary chair beside the broken window. A bird's nest occupied a corner of the ceiling where the rafters had begun to give in, and the room was mostly empty aside from the close to bare bookshelf, but there was however, a small but clean mirror standing beside the top of the stairs. The girl shrugged and sat down in front of it, brushing some dust away. She stared at her reflection, making silly faces in front of it, and pulling some paint out of her pockets and painting her face in swirls and zigzags like she'd seen wild people in old magzines.
