Ushio walked out of the Tavern and walked around the towns isolated streets. It was still raining and she was getting soaking wet but she didn't really care considering she still didn't have a place to stay. She simply sat quietly on a bench as the rain pounded on her back and thought about where she should go next. She was like a statue for a while but she eventually looked up and gazed at the water that hit the small weeds that grew out of the cracks in the side walks. She sneezed and rubbed her nose lightly but she continued to observe the weeds since there really wasn't anything better to do.

 Jake Walker was driving along the street in his AE86 when through the rain pelting his windscreen, he spotted a young girl sitting on a bench. She looked soaked and didn't have anything to protect her other than the clothes she was wearing... Letting off the gas, Jake pulled up against the curb and lent over the passenger seat to open the door. "Hey.. You want a lift to anywhere?" He called out to her. Slightly worried as to if she was alright.

Ushio looked up emotionless at the man who stopped by next to her. She simply looked at him, "No... I really don't have anywhere to go at the moment... and I don't take rides from strangers especially men" she said plainly.

"But you'll get ill if you stay out in the cold.." Jake replied trying to reason with her. "I'm sure there's somewhere.. At least to get out of the rain and dry yourself." The rain continued to fall and pinged of the metal body of Jake's Toyota as water began to run down the inside of the open door. "I understand your concern, but I can't leave knowing you're still out in the open." Jake added. "But I guess there's nothing I can really say to make you change your mind is there?"

Ushio was already feeling ill but she still didn't have a place to stay, "I suppose staying in the rain isn't good but... I can't go anywhere... anyways since I don't have a place of my own yet" she said, sighing. She liked this rain because it felt good against her skin but now the rain was becoming a little unbearable. She hesitated for a second but then sighed, "Is there a nurses office or hospital... somewhere I can stay for the night..." she asked softly.

"Well sure there's a hospital.. But what d'you mean you don't have anywhere to stay? What did you do last night? Or did you just arrive here in the town?" Jake asked, his curiosity about this girl raising to the same level as his worry. With the engine still running and idling gently, Jake took a another look at Ushio. "Why don't you at least get in? We can continue to talk and you'll be out of the rain. And my car may be old.. But it has a heater as well..." He laughed.

Ushio sighed, "well... I guess i've been sleeping on benches like this one for a week since i've just moved here... it wasn't to unbearable though I guess... I guess coming with you couldn't hurt..." she said, as she got up and held her arm softly. She got arms length to the car and stopped, "You don't mind that I get you car all wet....?" she asked. She felt bad so she wanted to make sure he was really ok with her getting into his car. She sneezed and rubbed her nose lightly as she waited for his reply.

Jake let out a little laugh. The passenger seat was already starting to get damp from the rain that splashed in through the open door. "It's fine. Really. Besides, I knew you'd be wet when I pulled over and asked if you wanted a lift." He smiled. "Oh, I almost forgot! Where're my manners? .. The name's Jake. Jake Walker." He said, introducing himself to Ushio. "Now quick.. Get in! You're already sneezing."

A police truck was rolling by at the time. "Sage Sheriff's Department" Glowd on the doors and the truck stopped a short ways infront of Jake. Renton flipped the lights on and reversed before he pulled behind Jake's car. turning on the spotlihgts Renton climbed out and walked over to the driverside.  He tapped on the window and flashed his loight in the car as the rain fell on him

Ushio sneezed again "Ushio..." she said. She was about to get into his car when a police car stopped and its lights flared. Ushio sighed, 'oh god not the police' she thought. They always thought she was a troublemaker and always caused trouble for her.

"Hmm..? What's this?" Jake mumbled as a police truck stopped after driving past Jake's parked '86 and reversed into a space behind him. "What? I haven't done anything..." Jake grumbled as the rooflights of the truck flashed and an officer stepped out into the rain and headed for his window. Once there, Jake dropped the window down and looked at the officer. "Yessir?" Jake asked, merging the two words into one as he spoke. "Is there a problem?"

Renton looked over to the girl standing on the curb "Just letting you know this isn't parking spot.. I haven't seen you before aswell so I can let it go." Renton said with a smile to him "I'm Sheriff Thurston. I'd love to welcome you both to my little slice of rainy heaven" Renton said as he flashed the light around the car checking ou the interior not to see any weapons but to see how the conditoon was. He had a soft spot for classics even if only the 80's
"What year is this old Toyota?" He asked seeing that Ushio and that she was getting wet "You guys have a place to stay? I have an inlaws apartment in my house if you need a place. Free of charge of course and I provide breakfast ad dinner" He added in.

Ushio tilted her head, "hmm... well I don't have a place to stay but I don't really care I can just find a box or something.." she said plainly. She then sneezed and rubbed her nose lightly again as the rain poured harder on he back. She sighed, 'truthfully I really didn't like cops so I really wanted to avoid going anywhere with this one...' she thought. She didn't mean that she didn't like him but she's had a bad experience with other cops and it brings her chills just thinking about it.

Renton sensed the hostility from her. He guess she had a bad past with police and didn't hold it against her. Most people judged Renton almost immediatly simply for his uniform. "Well I thought I would offer." He said to her "By the way I would personally like to apologize for all the other uniformed cops. I'm sorry aswell if I made you feel uncomfortible. Just wanted to show that you are welcome to where you want." He said to her removing his hat and bowing to her as the rain poured on his raincoat
"But my offer does stand. But if you wish we should have spare rooms at the apartment. I mean those you have to pay but there not bad" He added in placing hat back on.
