”All say, ‘How hard it is that we have to die’
- A strange complaint to come

It looks like Kasie was the first to come for class, and well, it was a bit awkward now that she thought about. Physical combat. How was she supposed to survive that one? Sure, she managed to touch a book, but after that, it was zip. Nadah. It should be all right if she explained herself to the teacher, but that shouldn't be an excuse for everything. No, she needed to get this touch thing down pretty soon.

In the meantime, Kasie opted for having her feet remain planted to the ground. At least, it was better for her to pretend and try. Who knows? Maybe all the pretending could actually become real?

Veith headed down into the training grounds. As he walked to the vast expanse of grass, he noticed a girl standing in the midst of it. He hoped that she didn't try to talk to him. He wasn't int he mood for conversing. Well, even if she did, he wouldn't pretend to be nice to her. He didn't want to be nice to anyone when they would all stab him in the back while he was grocery shopping.

Veith took a seat in the grass. He had brought a few tomes with him that he could study while waiting for others. He was a bit early, so a little studying wouldn't hurt. When he studied, he didn't have to think about anything. He didn't get any nightmares or get reminded of the cruelty of life. All he had to think about were the words on the page.

Sethrian arrived at the training field, a little surprised to see people already there. He supposed it was nice to see that not everyone in this school intended to slack off. Given the students and teachers he had met so far (excepting Kamil and, he supposed, Kasie) he hadn't had a lot of faith in the quality education he would be receiving.

But if there were students dedicated enough to show up early, that was a good thing. Of course, one of them was Kasie. But still. He found himself hesitating on the fringes of the field uncertainly. He obviously couldn't wear sunglasses to class, so his eyes and face were exposed this morning. he knew that the school hosted a wide array of magical creatures, but even so, he'd grown up among Humans and was used to being stared at. In addition, he couldn't help the fact that most people were automatically intimidated by him due to his idiotic power.

Ugh. Annoying. He finally stepped onto the field and made his way to Kasie.

"Good morning," he said quietly. He started to ask if she had rested well but realized that she probably did not sleep. "Er...how are you?" he asked awkwardly.

Kamil was excited to get to class. He wanted to take a dip in the park, but he decided not to since he'd probably be late. However, the night before, Kamil left water sitting in a bath so all the chlorine would kind of go away. There were still some left, but it didn't make him as sick as he usually felt.

Feeling energetic, he managed to run halfway across the school ground--walk to let his lungs rest while still having his restless energy--then run again on the pathway to the training grounds--then walk again to rest his lungs--and run the rest of the way into the grassy field.

"Good morning! How come we're the only one's here! Even I'm early! You'd expect that there would be more people!" Kamil exclaimed and he noticed a boy off at a corner reading alone. Kamil bounded over to the boy. "Reading!? But this is combat practice! Are you in the right class? I could tell you where the library is if you want."

What kind of energy was that? Veith glanced up at the boy that had approached him and then blasted him off his feet with a little wind chantment. Veith stood up and walked over to the boy as he looked down at him. "Just because one is reading, doesn't mean he is not capable of combat. When I fight, I read as I go." Veith said to the boy.

Veith turned away from him. "I'm cranky in the morning, so try to keep it down."

Veith probably was giving everyone a bad impression of him, but he didn't intend to make friends with anyone anyways. Besides, what was that boy. His hair was an eerie blue and he seemed weaker than an average human... Veith was certainly in the right class. He had confidence that he could hold his ground, but was that boy in the right class?

"Morning to you too!" Kasie chirped, glad that she found a familiar face to chat to. Make that two since Kamil came in. "And I've been doing fine. Since there wasn't much for me to do, I just kept practising and failing. So, how about you? Sleep well? Or were you too anxious to do that?"

Hopefully, there was a miracle that enabled her to manage through this class, but she'd never know until she tried. "I'm going to check how Kamil's doing. If he's still hurt, maybe I can try to convince him to take it easy, but knowing him, he probably won't." Kasie chuckled at the thought, drifting over to Kamil and the studious boy. Boy She could totally do this. Actually, she didn't want to make a bad impression of herself, so distance it was! That decided, she didn't even hear the other's distaste for noise.

"Hey, Kamil. How are you doing? Still hurt? Are you fine now? Also, hello there!"

"I was not anxious," Sethrian lied. It's not as if he stayed up the enter night practicing how to speak to other students. Fortnuately, he always had dark shadows under his eyes so no one would notice that he hadn't slept, probably. He quietly followed Kasie over to Kamil and the unfamiliar student (Good lord, that boy was short. Sethrian probably towered over him by at least a foot.)

He drew closer to them in time to hear the other boy announce his morning crankiness and ask the others to 'keep it down.' "Because obviously classes that focus on fighting and training are known for being quietly," he said. He looked at Kamil. "Yes, how are you today?"

Okay-- That hurt. Kamil sat up, feeling kind of woozy, but asides from the pain-- Kamil was engulfed by intensive curiosity. He grinned at his friends. "I'm absolutely bubbly! Besides, I'm probably going to need to get used to falling since I might have some issues keeping up. This darn gravity keeps weighing me down!"

Kamil leapt up onto his feet and brushed himself off. Fighting on the surface was a lot more painful than in the ocean-- Of course it was! For one thing, there was no hard ground to land on in the ocean. It was just a fury of bubbles and trying to avoid being speared. "But that's amazing! I never thought there could be people that can read on the battlefield! Surface dwellers are really all around, aren't they?"

So perhaps Veith should come in late. Who would have thought the students that came early were all annoying loud mouths that chattered endlessly of... normal things? The especially loud boy was fascinated with things that were common. Perhaps he was something that just crawled out of a cave after living a life of ignorance.

The trio already seemed to be acquainted with each other. As long as Veith didn't get dragged into their banter, he was fine. All he had to do was create some distance. A lot of distance. Besides, it won't be long before those idiots start commenting about his height and he seriously did not want to hear it.

((What an insecure little boy. ;-; ))

Usually, people told her whether or not they slept well, and if they didn't, it was because they were anxious. Sethrian just flat out told her that he wasn't, so... that meant that he was! She snickered to herself. "You silly liar."

But yikes for Kamil, that must suck to get hurt two days in a row. "Well, don't practice falling, especially off a cliff, but if you want, you're free to die in order to escape gravity." Kasie lightly offered with a teasing smile. Of course, Kamil wasn't going to do that. Actually, he probably could. Thank gawd Sethrian was around to watch his back.

As for the reading, well, Kasie wasn't much of a reader outside nor' inside. Who would want to read when they could go out adventuring? It was probably also explain why her grades weren't the greatest back when she was alive too.

"I...I am not lying," Sethrian sputtered, glaring at Kasie. "I simply have no reason to feel anxiety. I'm a competant fighter so I'm sure I will have no problems with this class whatsoever." He was inwardly flailing at her. Stupid girl! He was definitely not anxious at all. Ugh. And he couldn't even whack her on the back of the head for that because she was intangible.

Instead, he tried to ignore her and focus on Kamil. "Indeed, gravity is an unfortunate side effect of living on the surface. I'm sure it will just take some time to get used to it."

He looked around. "Are there really only four of us? And where is our instructor?"

((Rather than just random substitutes, maybe we should have free teachers fill in for the time being. Like, neither Gray, nor Zhori has a class right now, so they could take over either Art or Battle. Even Javor could take over one. That way there is still RPing going on?))

(( I agree with Strawberry. Haha, I wouldn't mind having Annalie or Briar come by. Can you just imagine Briar substituting for Battle? xD ))
