Lee grunted as someone bumped into her, nearly spilling her orange juice all over the rest of her meal. She wasn't that irritated by the accident, that's what she got for standing around like an idiot in the middle of a busy cafeteria. Instead she was pleased. The person who had bumped into her had just said sorry before moving on, none of that blubbering some of the rookies had when it happened. Looked like she had her place to sit.

Following the hooded figure she plopped her tray down at the table and then flopped in the chair, giving the others at the table a quick once over before turning her attention to her meal. If they didn't want her sitting here they'd just have to deal with. She picked up her muffin and started munching on it.

Mercutio walked into the cafeteria with his plate stacked high- it was filled with all sorts of food for the growing boy he constantly excused himself with. This whole mission thing was unsettling him (what with how many people were showing up) and Merc ate when he got upset.

Looking around, he saw a nearby table filled with people and shrugged. He was about to scoot his girth onto that. Seeing no purchase at one table, he instead shifted his view to the empty one next to it. Meh, empty tables had never bothered him. He'd probably start zoning out part way through anyways.

Which is exactly what happened. As he daintily shoveled food into his mouth, his mind began to drift back to better days when he was younger. Goddamn, he was only 22 and he felt like ******** 90.

Catching sight of the movement, Isaac lifted his fork in return, waving it until a glob of something fell back onto his plate.

"Thanks," he replied amiably to Warden. He stuffed the utensil back into his hunk of food for emphasis. "It's like a sword in the stone, you know? A stone of meatloaf. The taste is very similar, let me tell you."

He was just stuffing another bite into his mouth when he heard a familiar voice; Zoey was around here somewhere, but before he could look for her well, there was a drawl in his ears and a hand flapping in his face.

/It's not me,/ Kyanos offered with a touch of sarcasm.

Isaac's chewed nose wrinkled.
"What the-- knock it the hell off, where did you even come from?" he groaned, turning just enough in his seat to see Cliff with his stupid hat to his stupid chest. What, that was it? Come sit near your friend, smack around his personal space, and then pretend to be polite and proper? Hell, he wasn't about to let him get away with his air abuse.

"At least your mouth isn't full," Isaac said, and grabbed his fork, wielding it like how he thought people were supposed to wield swords. He waved it threateningly; it still had ketchup on it.

Amy had to agree with the response she was given. Calling everyone back like this couldn't mean anything good. "You're right, it likely isn't a good sign. Haven't heard any particulars, myself, though." She sighed, looking at her neighbor. He'd been around for a while, too. She knew she'd seen him before, though they'd never really met. "Nothing new with that though. Orders are often vague, aren't they?"

She smiled at another newcomer to the table, a Death Hunter whose face she could hardly see. The girl looked young, though. Amy wondered how young. Too young for a face like that, though.

The girl was followed quickly by another, a female who seemed older, and Amy flashed her a smile, too.

"Still, it is a bit nice to see people again. And be fed." The whole table looked eager to eat.

{Entering}

Miriam poked her head into the cafeteria with a sigh, still not pleased to be taken away from her latest research project, but at least this place didn't seem to be quite as busy just yet. She'd passed by the dorms to drop something off and decided not to linger there as the masses of Hunters started showing up. Who knew how many of them had been called in for this mission... well... if it was all of them for one mission. Must be a doozy then.

She went and picked up a few smaller things to munch on, mostly just some fruit and a muffin, along with a drink before going over and settling in at the end of one of the tables. Her weapon Verdandi was de-summoned and currently hanging around her wrist as a silver bracelet. "My my... so many.... wonder what they are going to have us doing...? Might be nice to see a little action..." Verdandi purred in her mind while Miri just rolled her eyes. She was no stranger to battle, but preferred to spend her time in the lab and Verdandi knew this. choosing to ignore her weapon for now, Miri just looked around the room, doing a little bit of people watching... and who knew, maybe someone she knew would pop in eventually.

(Feel free to pull her into whatever XD;;; )

Lyanna didn't like the free time with so many others around. A small team focused on something? That wad fine and dandy. Fun, even, under the right circumstances, but there were a lot of hunters here, most just milling about casually prepping as best they could without orders set in stone.

It... was weird.

Especially when she kept passing faces she swore she recognized, but couldn't find a name for. Luckily no one had initiated the awkward "hi, remember me?" conversation in which she would have to reveal, no, she didn't ******** remember them, but dread tickled her stomach knowing it could only be a matter of time. Oh day she'd have to work on being able to remember names... One day when she wasn't risking her a**.

Finally, with nothing to do and too much anxiety at the strange circumstances, she strode into the cafeteria. Her eyes skated across the sea of people once, and then relief flooded as she saw a guy she recognized. If the wall of muscle sitting at a table alone could really be considered just a guy. They'd been on a few missions together, and she could at least remember his name.

Mercutio. Yay Mercutio!

She flopped into the seat across from him like she owned it and tugged a wing off of his plate to munch on happily. Manners, wat? "Long time no see."

(( Zoey Renolds ))

To look engaged, Zoey nodded at the table's comments. Definitely nice to be fed, definitely strange to have them all together. But who was she to question? She didn't know anything really, not even after 4 years on the job.

Worse, she was still having issues remembering their names. It was disconcerting. And . .

Oh God . . . Was that Cliff's drawl she heard? The corners of her lips drew upwards as she heard what would probably be the beginning of a "brotastic moment" between the two Death Hunters as she chewed her salad. Zoey always seemed to find at least one of them, though she could never tell if it was because they had a habit of playing big brothers, or if she just had followed them around long enough to guess where they'd end up naturally; she wasn't one to stay alone for long anyway.

It was lucky Cliff addressed her for a bit, since it distracted her form the fact that the woman whose orange juice she had just spilled all over had chosen to stay at the table. Awkardawkwardawkward. Should she apologize again? The woman didn't seem too upset about it, but still . . . "Sir," she replied back at him, wiggling her fork at his face.

((Entering the Cafeteria))

Walking into the cafeteria, Seth looked around at the gathering people. For him it had been awhile since he had been back to the Island. Also for him it was just strange to see so many Hunters gathered too, it reminded him of his younger years. Seen no one that he knew, but then he hadn't been looking that hard, Seth went to get some food since he had gotten hungry from the trip here.

Now that he had his food and looked around for a place to sit as the scarred 19 year old didn't know who would mind him sitting with them. Quietly he walked around to find a place to sit as he didn't also want to intrude on anyone that didn't want him around.

Mercutio's dull blue eyes found themselves on a mist hunter he was somewhat acquainted with, who was calling out to him. Odd. He remembered her being a bit more ... well flat out rude.

People changed though. He did too.

He nodded in recognition as he swallowed about half of a sandwich in a gulp. Mercutio noticed the wing go missing but didn't say anything. Secretly, he mourned the loss of food, but a chicken wing was a chicken wing. He wasn't going to argue about it. There were more important things at hand.

Like his response to her. "Uhn," was all he said, as he continued to eat more food. "Good to see you're still here," he said, a tad morbidly.

Mya just happened to be looking towards the man who raised his eyebrow at her when she'd flopped down in her chair, and she gave him a hard stare in reply that clearly said 'got a problem?', before turning to her plate of food.

It seemed her table was destined to fill up quickly, and as much as she didn't want to, she couldn't help but hear the conversation picking up around her.

These are the people you are going to have to work with... she nearly sighed out loud in an overly dramatic manner, but managed to restrain herself. She'd been in this type of situation before, thrown in with a group that she'd rather not have to get to know on the highly likely chance that some or most of them would be dead later on. There were even a few familiar faces as she glanced around the room, her eyes flickering around between bites of her meal. A few of those faces were of hunters that she had some amount of respect for.

As the conversation at the table continued, she decided it would be for the best if she just kept her mouth shut. Because she was going to have to work with these people later, like it or not, and it would probably be for the best if she didn't piss on everyone's parade just yet.

"You get ketchup on this here white coat and we're gonna fight," he replied to Isaac with a touch of mock-skepticism, lifting his eyebrows and giving him a look like 'what are you, four?' Which was hilarious, all things considered. Pot and kettle and all. Resting both elbows heavily on the table (ok, so maybe he wasn't all manners,) the older boy dropped his hat nonchalantly onto the table, swiveling his eyes to settle them on the younger girl who'd teased him back. It was really, really hard not to grin, especially considering their history together, but luckily Cliff had a pretty good pokerface. "And you," he pointed his fork back at Zoey, giving her a 'I am so much older than you so don't you backsass me' look, "I don't even wanna hear it from you missy."

Making a face at her, he gave her a sneaky grin and another wink, jerking his head a little in Isaac's direction, as if to make sure she was watching. Then, without warning, the Runic hunter reached across the other boy's tray, stabbing a forkful of his ketchup-loaf before quickly shoving it into his mouth before Isaac could protest. For a second, he gave his friend a smug look, leaning his weight on one elbow so their shoulders were touching, looking entirely too pleased with himself. When the taste of the food finally registered in his mouth, the hunter's expression suddenly turned to horror, his expression contorting a little as he laughed, doubling over a bit and covering his mouth with his hand.

"Oh damn, that is godawful," he laughed a little harder, looking around a little frantically, trying to find a napkin, "Hey, someone got a napkin I can bum off ya?"

The Mist hunter barely paused from inhaling his food. "They normally don't tell us the important stuff until they deem it necessary." It didn't really make a difference for him, so long as he knew his mission when it was time to head out. "The least they could do was feed us. Not often that we get food as good as this."

He was watching those around him, enough to catch Mya's glare. One could say that Lucas had a weird sense of humor. If they did, it wouldn't really be a lie. "Well, if any of you lot have any questions Mya over there," he gestured at her with his fork, "just loves to help people out. She probably knows exactly what's going on here." He graced her with a wolfish grin, and then happily shoved a bite of meat into his mouth.

Seth's green eyes spotting a table that had a few people sitting at it and thought it would be a good place to sit and eat his food. The closer that he had gotten to said table, to see that there was a person that he did recognized and it had been a while since he had last seen the fellow moon hunter.

"Long time no see, Mercutio," Seth said as he gave the fellow hunter a pat to the shoulder with his free hand and maybe more scared up since the last time, he did know, it was something he didn't keep track of. Then he sat down at the table and started to eat some of the food that he had brought over.

Too oblivious to really understand the looks, all Isaac understood were three things: first, that Cliff was an idiot and was pressing up against his shoulder. Second, that Zoey was right beside them. And third, he'd just been swindled out of some quality food.
Quality was in the tongue of the beholder, of course. And Isaac thought ketchup was above and beyond four star food.

"I think this is karmic punishment," he replied mildly, glancing over at Zoey with a wicked sort of smile. Privately, he was happy to see Zoey. They hadn't been around each other for quite some time, at least a year on Isaac's part, and he worried often about meeting her again. It was always a mystery where a hunter could end up... though perhaps less of a mystery that one of those places was inevitably death. He wanted anything but that for her.

"Hey gramps," he turned back to Cliff, "Real food too much to handle? Go get some Cream of Wheat."
At least... he thought it was Cream of Wheat.

Lee listened to the chatter around her with half an ear as she ate. It was just the usual pre-mission questions, by now she was glad if she even got a debriefing before contact. She briefly considered trying to join in the chatter, being in Mist meant she could potentially end up with any of them, but decided she was just too tired to get caught up in their antics.

Instead she contemplated ducking by the training grounds after her meal instead of heading straight to bed. Now that she had some food in her she was feeling more awake and she did need to recharge her weapons before heading out and should probably get her wounds from her last mission looked over again. The Mooners at her outpost had been good but home base was always better stocked.

Nodding to herself she glanced up again at her table mates, finally noticing that she actually had a fellow Mist at the table. She squinted at him trying to place if she had ever had a mission with him. He was certainly old enough that they should have bumped into each other before.

Eh. She wasn't that good with faces. Everyone died too quickly.
