"So, um...your name is? I have offered mine to you but nothing was given in return." Chuppi wasn't sure if she'd done something to offend since he had greeted her after all and even added a 'Miss' to the front, but didn't someone usually give their name in response? Or...was she being rude by asking? "Oh, forgive if I am ruse in asking. I do not know all traditions of different customs." She bowed her head and blushed, wanting to shove her foot into her mouth (if it were possible).

Well, this was mortifying. "Oh no, you are not being rude at all Miss Temes. I was the one at fault for not offering my name. My name is Yǐn Cáng." He gave her a slight bow, feeling rather ashamed of himself.
Great Mantis this was awkward now. "My customs are quite different in many ways," he offered tentatively. "But asking someone for their name is not rude in the least. Please do not concern yourself with this."

"Yi...." Chuppi stumbled on his name, her thick accent and inability to pronounce the syllables proving to be her downfall. English was not her native tongue by any means, as her Spanish words and accent suggested, and she wilted as her third and forth attempts produced the same results. His name just wasn't going to be spoken, at least not by her. "I....do you perhaps having a shorter name I can use, like a nickname?" She stammered at the request, knowing it was rude even if just asking for a name was not. She wanted to be able to address him properly but if her tongue couldn't allow it, then what? Certainly just calling him 'you' was out of the question.
"I am afraid I cannot pronounce your name as I should, lo siento."

The weremantis could not understand all that she had to say, but asking for a nickname was something he was getting used to. "Thank you for asking Miss Temes. Many have seen fit to simply call me Yin, if that helps you any? I understand that my name is quite different than most of the students here."
Really, only Miss Xiu-Ying bothered to call him by his full name, though Alexander could use it if he chose to. "I must apologize Miss Temes, but what was the last thing that you said? Lo siento?" He could tell that his own pronunciation was probably a bit off. "I...I do not know some of the phrases that seem common to others," he admitted, slightly embarrassed.

Chuppi tried his name again, at least the shorter bit, and found that she could say it without the same difficulty as before. It still was a bit tricky on her tongue and she would try and think of another name to use, eventually, but for now she simply smiled and thought of what to say next. "There is, um, no need to call me as Miss Temes. Please just call me Temes, or Chuppi. Calling me Miss feels like I am too formal for you and you are trying to be distant?" She wasn't aware of this student's discomfort around girls but at the very least she didn't want him to appear so distant. It kept making her feel like she'd done something wrong.
She was going to sit and wonder if she'd done something wrong after all when he moved on to ask her about the phrase. "Hmmm? I - oh!" Her cheeks blushed, a common theme for her during this meeting it seemed. "I am with first language in Spanish so I often use it. Lo siento is 'I'm sorry' when transferred into the English tongue. Sometimes when nervous or without thinking on it I will speak Spanish."

So, another ghoul who wanted him to use something different? "Of course Lady Temes, I did not intend to make you feel uncomfortable." Was her new title going to make her more uncomfortable? Who knew, but he was trying to comply with her wishes.
"Please do not be nervous around me," he told her, slightly nervous himself. Maybe it was nothing, maybe she just was not thinking. He hoped that was the case. "I am just a hunter like you, and a boil, so there is nothing for you to be concerned with. I think it is quite amazing that you can speak two languages so well."

"Languages are not too hard but I must always remember where I am when am speaking it. Otherwise I would sound strange to people and could be misunderstood. I do not want people to think I am not trying for them." The fact that Yin was still addressing her with a title did not make the nerves go away but she plowed on, hoping he would just...get used to her over time? He did apologize to her which made her feel even worse, but none the less she just smiled weakly and nodded her head, trying to think of a way to continue on.
"Oh but, were you on your way somewhere? I do not want to be keeping you if there is something you are needing to do. I am feeling horrible for stopping your progress by bumping into you." There, that was it! Both of them had been going to different places before the conversation started so maybe she could steer it back the way it needed to go without sounding overly rude about it. Or overly eager, whichever sounded worse.ramenli We can go ahead and end this with your next post if you'd like? I'm super sorry it's taken this long to get it done, but I did want to finish it after all
