Katya smiled again at Dante, but squirmed a little. She would certainly need any help she could get, yet she felt as though she had little or nothing to give back in return. Truthfully, she somehow grasped enough of what was thrown at her to scrape by, even though she paid almost no attention. Maybe she could continue to do so.
"Oh you don't have to do that." Katya crossed her legs and stared at her feet. "I wouldn't want to trouble you."
And yet she didn't really believe the excuse she'd made for herself. The lessons were only going to get more serious, and less forgiving. Her uncanny ability to dodge academic failure could only carry her so far.

It's no trouble! Dante writes instantly, giving Katya the most earnest face he can. Sometimes it was really difficult, not having tone of voice to express himself. It'll even be fun! We can study together, put our minds together and learn from each other as well as our teachers!
He gives her this little pouty 'pleeeeeeease?' look.
Truthfully he wants an excuse to spend more time with the sweet and cheerful Katya. But his offer is solid--he really, truly wants her to excel in her studies. Especially since she had such a rational, cool head like himself. Together they'd be a real force for goodness and light among the Knights. And it wouldn't do at all to have any member of the chosen ones of the Guardians lacking in her studies.
At this point he isn't taking no for an answer.

Katya glanced at Dante's pouty face and let her mouth hang open in amusement a second or two. Finally she gave a short, loud laugh and clapped her hand on his shoulder in a rather tomboyish way. "Well, if you insist, Dante. I'm sure we'll have some pretty good fun along the way, too." She glanced up at the receding light in the sky, the bright blue above slowly turning into a golden sunset. It would have been nice to go and have a flight at that moment, but this close to dusk and by extension, dinner, she might get in trouble for it.
Still, there was at least a good hour before they were expected to eat, and that was time that needed killing. "So Dante, what do you suppose our first study session should consist of?" The tips of her wings trailed lazily in the fountain waters behind them as she spoke, as did her spade tail. The wetness didn't seem to bother her in the slightest. "Magic? History? Practical skills?"

I like history. Dante shows her the pad of paper and smiles. He's already planning lessons in his mind. Things to work on! Things to read! He knows he can make her fall in love with her studies if he just shows her all the interesting things there are to learn!
He glances over at her and gets a little rosy-cheeked smile. He feels as if he's found a true friend in Katya. Hopefully they'd both make it to Knighthood together, and work toward doing some real good in this world.

"History it is, then." Katya stood, dusting off her rear as she did so. "I'll be counting on you." She said, smirking as she looked at the sky again. It was a bit darker now, as the day winding to a close. "We should get to that after classes tomorrow, I don't think we have a session on the afternoon."
She threw her gaze back to the windows facing the courtyard and saw some of them beginning to emit a faint glow as torches and candles were being lit inside the castle. "I guess we should go join the others at dinner, before anybody misses us. What do you say, friend?" She looked directly at Dante, a broad smile on her face.
