”When the world says, ‘Give up,’
Unfortunately, Annalie didn't have the earlier requested items, but couldn't they have just asked for such things. However, that would immediately make them suspicious. Just then, Suzanne came up with the plan. Oh how she loved this woman's thinking. Although it was wasting another snack of hers, it was worth giving up for the sake of their devious plotting, or maybe not since they were her favourites.
"I do, but I was saving that for later. How about some eels? Tadpoles? Crickets? Here, feel free to rummage through my bag and pick anything of your choice." Annalie slid her bag over to Suzanne, letting her pick out what'd be the worst for the guy. After all, those creatures were just food to her, so how would she know?

Suzanne rummaged through Annalie's bag. Suzanne was amazed with all of Annalie's "snacks." She suddenly realized that she might have to get a similar bag so she could carry such things around too. Suzanne pulled out an insect from inside the bag. She wasn't sure if Annalie planned to eat it or it got in the by accident, but it was one of the most hated bugs in the history of most hated bugs. "Is it alright if I used this cockroach?" Suzanne asked with a devious smile. Her sleeve couldn't go up to hide it since it was holding the cockroach.
And it was a big cockroach too. It was wonderfully disgusting. It was perfect. Suzanne tried her best to sustain her giggles. After the prank, she'll have to find that cockroach again for future entertainment purposes.

Severin Novaire ________________________Nothing was happening. Maybe Severin was just being paranoid. The prank didn't work the first time, so why would they come back for a second. Yet, he felt uncomfortable as if there was something terrible in store brewing for him. He reached for his tea. It was still fine. He sipped at his tea for a bit as he glanced down at his book.
He couldn't even enjoy his literature because of the pranksters. He set his cup down on the table again. There's no point in trying to catch those brats who ruined his first cup. He'll just have to keep a careful watch over his drink. Severin changed positions in his seat so that he could read and watch over his cup at the same time. ________________________

”When the world says, ‘Give up,’
Oh, it was that. It was crunchy morsel and all, but there was simply too much fluid inside the little bugger. It wasn't the best taste in the world, but Annalie had experienced worse. It's not like she'd miss the insect, so she gave it the a-okay to use for their prank. "It's fine. Just go for it, and if you want, you can always take any thing you want with you after we're done. Also, if possible, that cockroach should be dropped onto his head, more specifically, his face."

That was a wonderful idea! Suzanne was instantly pleased with the plan, but it would require her to use a lot of her energy. "I'm going to attempt it, but I can't just drop it on his head since there aren't any shadows above him. I need to get into the shadows under the table and use some of my demonic energy to move shadows above him so I could transport the cockroach. Unfortunately, we need to kill the poor thing since I can't transport living creatures, but a dead cockroach on your head is still pretty creepy, right? So I'll get into the shadows. You ought to go over there and talk to him while I set everything up. And when it comes down, we have our laughs then dash for the door." Suzanne explained.
As she spoke, Suzanne was stabbing at the cockroach with a needle until she was certain it was dead. She then got up from her seat and backed away into the shadows of a corner. She grinned at Annalie while holding the cockroach in a napkin. Suzanne started to melt away into the shadows and she waited for Annalie to distract the guy before she could make her move.

”When the world says, ‘Give up,’
It was easier said than done from the looks of it, but the effort put into this prank was completely worth it. Pulling herself into her wheelchair, Annalie rolled herself over to this grumpy man, debating on how she should approach him. "Excuse me for interrupting you, but I couldn't help but notice how deeply involved you were when reading that book. Is it a good read so far? I've been trying to find one for ages, but nothing's really caught my attention."

Severin Novaire ________________________A girl's voice invaded his moment of peace. He was about to forget about his paranoia when he heard the sound of a girl's voice. Severin wanted to sigh heavily, but instead he pasted a friendly smile on his face and turned to the girl that had approached him. "So you have an interest in literature? There should be a library around here. You could always check the book out yourself. It is not that hard to find." Severin explained to the girl.
Severin disliked keeping such a friendly front, but women always made it look like the men were the bad guys for just wanting to enjoy a book in peace. If he told her to leave him alone, she'd somehow cause a riot and make Severin look bad. That's just how women were.
Severin glanced down at his book to take note of what page he was on when he saw a movement in the shadows under his feet. Severin frowned and adjusted his glasses. What was that just now? ________________________

Suzanne had just messed up.
He glanced down for a brief moment, but Suzanne didn't think he would, but he did. So just when he glanced down, she started to slide out from the ground and now he was trying to stare closely at her. It was too late already and Suzanne's entire head emerged from the shadows on the floor.
Her eyes met with his and she was startled. She was caught. She actually got caught! Suzanne's first thought was to get out of there as quickly as possible. She slid out completely from the floor but hit her head on the table as she tried to get out. "Augh!" Suzanne cried out from the sudden pain. The dead cockroach flew and landed on the man's lap.
Suzanne crawled out of the table, near tears as she held her throbbing head. "I-It looks like I made a slight mistake, Annalie."

”When the world says, ‘Give up,’
Oh. Flipping. Fins.
They were both screwed weren't they? Annalie quickly wheeled her way over to the distressed demon, and used the pretence of checking the woman's head in order to lean close and softly whisper. "It's fine. Mistakes happen. Now, can you slip through the shadows once more? You should just get out of here, and let me handle it. If we bolted out together, I'd only drag you behind." Hey, better one than both right?

Severin Novaire ________________________It was a cockroach. His worst enemy in the entire world that actually prevailed over women who were his second worst enemy. Severin wanted to jump up screaming and throw the cockroach into someone's face, but that would mean he'd have to touch it.
But what did it matter?! He had to get rid of it somehow and if the expense was to touch it, then he had to do it or it would stay on his lap forever. The disgusting creature was large too and it had been cut up and its disgusting insides were oozing out.
Severin pinched it with his fingers and went to the girls that seemed to be suspiciously whispering to each other. He pasted on a friendly smile to the best of his extent and dropped the cockroach before them.
"I believe that belongs to you two girls. Now then, please excuse me." Severin had to wash his hands. He had to scrub them well. He had touched it and his fingers burned from the touch. Somehow, he had kept himself from screaming and running away. Thank God the damn thing wasn't alive and crawling all over him or he would have flipped.
Severin entered the men's bathroom so he could begin his intensive finger scrubbing. ________________________

Suzanne blinked as she stared at the cockroach that had been thrown down in front of them. He was tense and his face was blue despite his what appeared to be a friendly smile.
But who would smile after a scene like that?! What a suspicious man! "You know... he sat there staring at the cockroach before he got up and gave it to us. His face was blue as if he had suddenly turned ill or something... Could it be that he is... afraid of cockroaches?" Suzanne wondered out load, forgetting about her head pain.
He did go straight to the bathroom afterwards. His arm was stiff and he kind of held it away from him as he walked. Suzanne glanced at Annalie and a smile spread across her lips. She was seriously curious about that man now. His behavior was very odd.
"Now isn't that a peculiar way to handle what just happened, Annalie? Why didn't he get mad at us?"

”When the world says, ‘Give up,’
No wrathful vengeance? How strange, but at least that meant that they were off the hook right? Still, this man's reaction was so odd to begin with. Usually, one would scream in terror or pop a vein from anger, but this man did neither. Perhaps her views on people were wrong?
After Suzanne had remarked upon the man, Annalie contemplated over what she had noted. "Really? He didn't seem like it, but then again, his reaction is very much confusing me. Who smiles from a cockroach? Even I'm not that enthusiastic over such a critter. Of course, I'm just relieved that he didn't blow his bubbles over this, but then again, doesn't that just make you want to try again?"

Suzanne was thoughtful. Annalie was right, it made her want to try again. Suzanne didn't like how he still was so friendly with them even though they had thrown a cockroach right into his lap and surprised him from coming out from nowhere under the table. "I think he's probably a broken toy." Suzanne remarked as she picked up the cockroach from the ground and dropped it in the shadows to transport it into a trash can.
"We can wait for him and apologize to him. Learning more about our tough opponent might help us figure out what would be the right way to go about teasing him." Suzanne remarked as she crossed her arms. "No matter how nice he seems, it's probably a fraud since that friendly appearance he has is probably a mask."

”When the world says, ‘Give up,’
"I agree. With that polite exterior, he can't avoid us, not without us being persistant. In fact, judging from how he is, he'd have to accept our apology. Though, I can't help but wonder for what reason he's like that. What good is it to pretend to be nice and risk being bothered?" Annalie mused, absently tapping her fingers along her wheelchair, before pondering over their pranking companionship.
"Hm, so we have your shadows and my snacks and snowballs to torture the students with. We make an interesting team don't you think?"

Severin Novaire ________________________Severin had given his hands a thorough washing. He took off his glasses for a bit and the world around him became a mesh of oddball colors. Although he couldn't see his glasses, he attempted to clean the lenses with his shirt before he put his glasses back on. He hoped that those girls had left already, but most of all, he hoped they got rid of that disgusting creature that he had dropped on the ground in front of them.
Severin shivered at the thought of going back to his spot to see that repulsive, dead creature lying not too far away from him. "I'd better just... leave." Severin sighed as he left the bathroom. Severin paused when he saw those girls still standing around near his table. He decided to quickly pay the bill and leave without them noticing him... ________________________
