Jeanne shrank further behind the tree, overcome with shyness. Her eyes drifted from the pachirisu to the ground, and back again.
Reis acknowledged the trainer with a quick "My bad!" before turning to Jeanne, trying to beckon her over. Turning back to the trainer, she asked, "Did you have any luck with the fish?"

"Just caught a couple of small ones, nothing too big, thought enough to make dinner with..." Heal picked up his fishing rod. "I am not used to this waters, so i am not sure what the fishes respond to. As for water pokemon, I accidentally caught a couple of magikarps, but threw them back. Nothing to write home about."
Picasso climbed down and came closer to where Jeanne was, offering what was left of his pocky.

Jeanne looked back and forth between the pachirisu, Reis, and the pocky. Carefully, she took small steps toward the pachirisu, eying him warily all the while before accepting it and darting back to behind the tree, continuing her watch.
Meanwhile, Reis continued her conversation with Heal. "Well, more luck than I'd have, I'm sure. As if I'd be able to sit still doing that." She finished with a laugh. "I'm sorry about Jeanne, by the way. She's usually shy, but this is the first time I've seen her so cautious since we met a couple of weeks ago."

Picasso didn't seem undettered by this as he went slowly after her, chattering soothingly and calmly about the weather and the chocolate muffin he had eaten this morning.
Heal reeled his line back. "Well...we been traveling for a few days now, its nice to just stop and do nothing for a while." He chuckled. "But I guess it wouldn't be for everyone. So you just recently caught her? I can say the same with Picasso, he still a bit of a handful."

Jeanne shied away further, but slower this time. Tentatively, she asked what a chocolate muffin was, confused.
"Well, I haven't actually caught her. She's just been with me. Frankly, I'm not sure if she wants to be caught, but I'm fine with the way things are now." She nibbled on her pocky thoughtfully as if that made her statement incredibly wise.

Picasso seemed very happy at the question. "(Its like bread. But brown like a raichu's ears...and shaped like a fat mushroom. Its delicious and sugary and sweet!)"
"Ah" He chuckled. "That's nice, thought I would keep an eye on her if that the case, someone might throw a pokeball in her direction."

Jeanne nodded at the analogy. Though most of it was foreign to her, she could piece together the meaning. She left the cover of the tree just a slight bit, growing more comfortable around the pachirisu.
"Ah, that's a fair point, yeah. But I think most just assume she's mine given how we're always together, anyway." She shrugged slightly as she watched the bobber dully.

"Yes well, I have a shiny ninetails that almost never in his pokeball, and he is almost always by my side, that doesn't seem to stop people from throwing pokeballs at him, even thought he is obviously with me... so just..keep an eye out." He laughed. "Some people that still wanting their first pokemon can be a little strange..."
The pachirisu came a little closer and settle down, curling his tail around his paws. "(I think Heal still has some, hidden somewhere in his backpack, I am sure we could find them if we went digging into it.)"

Jeanne shook her head furiously.
Reis' eyes lit up. "I've never seen a shiny ninetales before - never seen any ninetales, actually - I've heard they're beautiful! Is he nearby? Can I see him?" Reis didn't notice how quickly her demeaner had changed, and started buzzing about looking for the new pokemon.

Picasso blinked a few times, surprise by the reaction. "(He won't mind, we all do it so long as we don't steal actual food..)"
Heal tilted his head slightly and looked around. "Well, he went to 'patrol' the area. He is a bit of paranoid nut that thinks anything can kill me..." He let out a loud whistle and few moments later the large ninetails leaped out over some bushes, landing on a fighting stands, head low and growling when he saw a girl and pikachu near his trainer. "Calm down, Arthmael, they are harmless.."
The shiny pokemon gave a huff that clearly say 'I shall be the judge of that!'.

Jeanne was unfazed by the sudden appearance of the ninetales as her shyness seemed to wash away with every passing moment. In it's place was a feeling she couldn't quite describe. She shook it away.

Just as Jeanne had said, Reis was enamored with the ninetales. It was every bit as beautiful as she had heard. But it looked like it wanted to kill her, so it also appeared to be every bit as protective as she had heard, too. She offered some pocky as a tribute.

Picasso seemed happy to get Jeanne out of her little hidding place and took them over to his trainer's backpack, working the zipper before wiggling his way into it. Pushing out a small bag of muffins. "(Ta-da!)"

Arthmael slowly moved closer and sniffed towards the offer Pocky. "...." He gave a test lick before taking the treat and moving back next to Heal, wrapping a tail around the boy's ankles.
