Kathryn made one more passing glance towards the section of the library that held her favorite genre of books before placing her current selections down on the front counter. She gave a quick smile to Tony before excusing herself. "There's one more book I want to get. Can you watch these for me?"
Without much waiting to see if Tony would or did answer Kat settled into a brisk walk into a familiar aisle of the library. She ran her fingers along the spines of the books that she found herself amongst before stopping suddenly at the title of one book in particular. It had been a while since she had picked up this volume and she stared at it with a vague feeling of nostalgia. Kat sighed before pulling the book from the shelf and cradling it in her arms. She cracked the book open to the middle and gave a soft smile at the text on the page before closing the book and tucking it under her arm. She exited the aisle and returned to the front counter where Tony had already scanned her other books and stamped the return date on the card located inside. She pushed the book she'd just brought with her onto the counter. "I'd also like to check this title out as well. Thanks Tony."
Kathryn scooped the two books that were already signed out and placed them in her shoulder bag. She still had a free afternoon but it looked like at least part of it would be spent reading in silence. Although perhaps she'd talk briefly with Tallulah about her possible new job. Things were looking up it seemed.
(( okay. :: apologizes :: I still feel bad it's been over a year ))

Tony nodded his head, used to people leaving their books at the counter while they went to get something they'd forgotten, or ran to the bathroom, or something else. He was calm enough, and patient, and he did not mind it too much.
When she returned, he smiled and nodded, taking the book she brought back with her and scanning it out to her just as he had done many others over the course of his day. He handed it back to her.
She was a nice kid, and he was sure she would do a good job at the library, and that she would enjoy herself there. It was a nice place to work, and he was not just being a snob about his own place of business. It was just quiet and most of the patrons were reasonable and there to study and work. There were not too many things that went crazy, though it was never a guarantee. Still, despite a small streak of bad luck with youma, it was a nice place.
In any case, her going to find another book gave him an extra moment to finish her schedule.
"Here," he said, offering it to her. It only covered the first week, but it was enough to give her an idea, and to return any scheduling errors that he might have made in his haste. He did his best to accommodate anything she'd written down as conflicts, though.
"I'll see you soon, then. Have a good... ah... rest of your day."
