Soren hadn't even expected his winged maneouver to work, let alone send him soaring quite so high as he did; but then, he did have the strength of a warrior slamming into him from below, sending him skyward so quickly that he almost lost himself to vertigo. The best he could hope to do was snag a mouthful of cloak, as he had before, or else be taught how to fly.
Before he could flip completely head over heels, he slammed his jaw shut on whatever bit he could possibly find.

As he came back down to the earth, Dios felt something tug briefly on his cloak before it gave with another small rip.
Ah. It seemed that the pup had tried to arrest his momentum by grabbing onto the warmaster. Not a bad idea, but still not quite good enough. It looked like the pup would have his first flying lesson today. Perhaps he would even land on his paws.
"Versatility, pup," he said, not caring whether Soren was airborn or on the ground. "The unexpected can be useful, but not to the point of stupidity. Choose your targets more carefully."

Soren couldn't hold on, not with the sort of momentum Arkadios so deftly wielded. He had a bit of fabric in his mouth, that was all, and then it seemed like the air itself had conspired to hold him, suspended, for an amount of time that felt almost infinite.
And then his feet met the ground. Hard.
He didn't stay upright for very long, however, rolling with the impact and finally feeling quite bruised; he shook his head, one eye half-closed against a ringing that now reverberated between his ears, and looked up to Arkadios with reluctant defeat. "Wrong... target," he grumbled, spitting out a bit of brown cloak.

The warmastar observed the pup with a bit of silent amusement that he rarely indulged in. Really. All of this training reminded Arkadios of his own first attempts, all of those years ago. Of course, he was mostly self-taught, but that didn't mean that he did not have his own moments of frustration. In fact, there were probably even more of them than Soren was experiencing.
Well. The pup looked like he had been knocked silly. Perhaps it was best that they stop for the moment.
"Enough for now, pup," he said, perhaps a tiny fraction of his amusement leaking into his voice. "It will do no good to knock all of the sense out of you. Not when you are just starting to think on your paws. Rest. Eat something. Consider the day's lessons and think about what you could have done differently. Watch the warriors train, if it will help you...and try to practice before we meet again."
It was a bit of a list, to be sure, but the training was only going to get more intense from here on out, and not everything that Soren had to learn could be taught. Some he had to discover for himself.

It didn't feel right. He didn't feel as though he had done enough. He was sitting in a puddle of defeat, and unlike the majority of other legitimate feelings, he knew that one all too wel. He didn't like defeat, it left a bad taste in his mouth.
He wondered, for a moment, why Arkadios wasn't quite as bothered by it, and his more reasonable side told him that the older wolf would certainly understand a puppy not going the distance just yet... but he was still uncomfortable. At least he was given something to ruminate on, something to learn and to do until the next time they would spar. "I will watch them," he promised, knowing that he would widen his eyes and nostrils to all traces of the Brotherhood so long as he believed they had something to unconsciously teach. "I will be better next time."
