Question: Can this tree also drain chakra from jutsu and disable them?}    David's eyes picked up on the other boy's seals, but before he could really do anything to stop him, it had begun. It started small, and intrigued the boy, a plant growing on a roof. But then it grew, rapidly, and David had to jump back, clear off of the roof to get away from it. A large amount of sand slid out of his pant legs before he could fall, forming a platform for him to stand on as he glared up into the strange tree. He could see Masaki climbing higher into the tree, and somewhat doubted following him was a good idea, so... "Suna Nawa." the boy practically hissed out, and two twin tendrils of sand shot out of his sleeves, darting between the branches of the tree and towards the boy hiding within. They could move faster than he could through the branches, and when they caught up, the would wrap around the first bits of his body they found and grasp tightly.

Description: Suna Nawa allows the user to launch up to four ropes of sand from their source, and attempt to capture a target with it. The rope is semi-controllable, and can be aimed and maneuvered in midair to corner the target. Once the target is caught, the rope will tightly wrap itself around them to confine them. An opponent with strength higher than the power of the jutsu can break free with some effort (One post), or if their hands have not been bound, they can cut the rope with a bladed weapon. Except for it's unique abilities, the rope has the same durability as a normal rope. The rope moves at C rank speed, but can only go as far as the user's sand allows. The rope's reaction speed is -.5 below the user's own, because it has to be consciously controlled. Power: C rank Reaction: B.5

((No way could it get a way with that. The most i could stretch that would be bunshin. (but I won't) I'll add that rule to the jutsu and put it in the edits thread. How are those ropes faster than Masaki? they are the C-rank speed, and have to travel a good distance to catch up. nvm i think i misread.
Sounds like a deal, you can change your types and I can fix my profession.))

Hikaro_rin ((No way could it get a way with that. The most i could stretch that would be bunshin. (but I won't) I'll add that rule to the jutsu and put it in the edits thread. How are those ropes faster than Masaki? they are the C-rank speed, and have to travel a good distance to catch up. nvm i think i misread. Sounds like a deal, you can change your types and I can fix my profession.)) { They can move faster through the branches than you, only because they have a higher reaction speed. You have to climb around the branches, while they just zip right in around them. David's reaction speed is A rank, making theirs B.5, while your own is C. If I'm changing my types, just assume I replaced Elemental with Combo. Since you said I could use the updated Ichibi, he still has the elemental benefits though. (Which is why I wasn't actually going to do it, but hey. XD)}

(Finally Posted.) ((Okay, but there is still a distance for it to go to reach him and Masaki built the tree. He already knows where the branches are so I'm not sure reaction speed comes into play quite so much. The difference is that if they got close enough Masaki couldn't dodge faster than the ropes could change direction and grab him. At least that's how I understand it. Edit: Just realized my posting format is really out of date. And not just for this battle. It says he is an Academy Student)) Masaki

Masaki watched as the man launched two sand snakes towards him. Or sand tentacles or something, he wasn't sure. Either way, he prepared himself, drawing his his kunai, launched it towards the sand user, ran up the tree where the enemy couldn't see. Here his hands formed the seals for another interesting jutsu. "Moku Bunshin" He muttered as he slammed the tree, pulling a block of wood from the tree. As he pulled it out, the block looked more and more like Masaki until it was an exact duplicate. That would have enough time for the sand things to catch up, Masaki moved up the tree, more cautiously but still fast, and he found a top near the canopy that he could watch from. With luck the snakes would find the bunshin.

It seems to be less of a big battle than i expected. Not rushing you, just kind of a subtle reminder it is here, and making sure it isn't another abandoned battle.

As the boy darted higher into his tree, David frowned, his sand ropes coming to a halt as their target was no longer in sight. Not to be deterred however, David did something the other boy, if he could see it, would surely not understand. He closed his eyes. "Dansai no Me." he whispered under his breath, and instantly, a small orb of sand rose from his platform, quickly rising several yards above him as it turned white, with a blue circle on one side of it, which quickly focused itself on David and his general area.
Further along, at the very end of one of the ropes, another small orb grew, but this one did not detach itself from it's source, instead staying on the tip of the rope, making it look like a very strange snake indeed, with a large eye growing out of it. This eye blinked once, before focusing itself on the boy it could now see. The other sand tendril shot forward immediately, using the eye's vision to navigate itself up to where it would attempt once more to wrap itself around the boy's legs. Unfortunately, neither of David's new eyes had picked up on the fact that this was a mere clone, and not the actual boy.
The kunai Masaski had thrown, found itself completely ignored, unnoticed, and most likely rather rejected and lonely as it was smacked away from David almost lazily by a tentacle of sand that had risen from his platform for just that purpose, without David even looking down to notice it had happened.

Description: With this jutsu, the user is capable of forming a hovering eyeball, through which they can see perfectly. The eye is only capable of moving a maximum of thirty feet away from the user, but it can see as far as the user's existing eyes could normally. To make this work, the user must close, cover, or otherwise disable one of their own eyes, and using chakra, connect their optic nerves to the sand made eyeball. This will of course not work with a blind eye, as the optic nerves are damaged. The jutsu can be maintained for a cost of one point per post. If the user opens the eye connected to the sand eye, the connection will be lost. Trying to expand the distance beyond thirty feet will double the cost of maintaining the jutsu for every five feet.

((forgot to put info for the bunshin info and chakra drain. sorry. I'll put it in this post for convenience.))
The bunshin jumped as it saw the snake round the tree. It wasn't slow, and it had grown... an eye? He moved to dodge the attack, already knowing it was too late. At that distance and speed, it could surely catch him now that it could see him. So he jumped down and out of the tree. If the snake chased him it would have to navigate the branches possibly bringing it to the end of it's tether. Masaki would have little difficulty with branches, since he already knew where they all were. He had made them after all.
Masaki watched the Sand-user closely and was startled to see him close his eyes. His legs twitched and he reached for his weapons bag, but stopped himself. That man was powerful and Masaki had learned sense, if only a little, under Luo's care. The man was too far away, closing his eyes served no threat at that distance, especially considering how easily he had deflected the attack. He didn't even move a finger from what Masaki could see. His hesitation proved helpful when he saw a sphere form near the man. It was hard to tell for sure, but it looked vaguely like an eye. As he watched, curious by the man's behavior, he sensed his clone move. The bait appeared to be working perfectly, He had to handit to himself this whole bait and switch did have some benefit. He was getting impatient however, and he couldn't wait much longer. He placed his palms together and called on the mantra he used to calm himself, mouthing the words and concentrating on the wood forteress he had constructed in his mind. A grand forest to calm his mind as he watched the sandman.
