Tipsy Senshi

PostPosted: Sat Jan 21, 2012 8:10 pm

"You know, there's always been such a level of secrecy in the Blood Moon Court that becoming more visible to the senshi public is a little... well, ******** contradictory." Nemesis could be trusted to say what was on her mind when it crossed her mind. There were plenty of things about the old Blood Moon Court that Nemesis had liked, up until the part where Ares went ******** psycho and stabbed everyone in the back. A small part of her thought that it was wrong to voice her opinion, if only because she didn't intend to stay around forever. Why influence everyone else's decisions when she wasn't going to be influenced by them for long? In the end, she thought it better to be heard instead of keeping things bottled in.

"Why the hell are you ******** nominating yourself? You're already acting as Captain, it makes no sense to ask for our opinions and permission now." With a roll of her blue eyes, Nemesis said nothing else on the subject. It was hard to tell whether she approved of Birhan's assent to leadership or not. But, there was a small token in the way Nemesis did not outright denounce Birhan's attempt to nominate herself. She wasn't saying no, and she certainly wasn't stepping forward to claim the position herself. Nemesis knew she had a different path to follow now, and she would need to shed the Blood Moon Court eventually.

"No."

While Nemesis had never desired the leadership position, it had always been clear that she had been aggrieved by Ares keeping her out of the Inner Sanctum. Nemesis should be the first person to jump on the opportunity to climb through the ranks, but instead she was flat out rejecting it. They were a tight group already, and Nemesis did not want to be any tighter with them if she had plans to leave. For her peace of mind, she showed up, and for her peace of mind she would remain to make sure no one was going to end up dying on her. "And no, I'm not going to ******** talk about it to everyone. Pass. Give it to the next sucker."

"We need to stay secret. We can't come out more, people think of us as hard evil fighters for a reason and in a way that needs to stay. We need everyone to know that just because Ares has left us we aren't weak. They will expect us to be weak." Sirius didn't want the court to change much, she loved it how it was.

"As for anything else, you know you have my allegiance and I will help where ever it is needed." It probably sounded stupid but hey Sirius had always made it pretty obvious that she backed Birhan.

"How about we go and look for the new senshi? Maybe Zirconia can help by finding any new senshi via other cats so that we can get the new ones before they are influenced by others? We could then grow them up in the court and teach them properly." It was only an idea one that knowing her luck would be ignored but she didn't want the court suddenly open. It's reputation said a lot about them - they weren't to be messed with.

"I agree with Nemesis and Sirius. I would rather we stay a secret, because if anymore info about us as a group comes out, who to say that the other senshi won't see us as nothing but useless? I for one don't think this group is weak, we do need more among us, but we need to be picky on how we go about it. After Ares left, we lost a couple." Serpentarius paused as she thought of her cousin for a moment, as they were both brought into the group about the same time.

"We need to choose senshi who can handle what we do, and if they can't, then we don't allow them in. Plain and simple." she glanced towards Sirius, rather liking the second idea she had "I second Sirius's idea, if Zirconia is up to it. Grabbing the newcomers before the others get to them."

She went quiet for a moment before her eyes lift toward Birhan "You know where I stand, if I didn't want to be apart of this, I wouldn't be here. I'll stand by your side. This is where I belong."

While Birhan mentioned Zirc turned her down, she remained passive and tried to pretend they weren't even talking about that. The last thing she wanted to think about was forced separations of any kind with the present company, even self imposed ones. But then the corners of Zirconia's mouth were pulled further and further back until the cat's hunched over posture and face made her look like a hair bullfrog. She did not agree with the secrecy at all, but she didn't say anything against it. She wanted a propaganda war, not more creeping cloak and daggery.

But if she was going to be outvoted, so be it.

When Sirius made her suggestion and Serpentarius backed it up, she shifted on her paws as she thought that over. There weren't many cats she was on fabulous terms with. She had a few names and faces to match from the gathering Mauvians project, but the only one she knew at length, positively, was ********* may be complicated..." She couldn't remember ever discussing the Blood Moon Court with *********, other than a passive mention, maybe, when she spoke of Ares' corruption. But she couldn't quite remember, and it was entirely possible the other cat had opinions she didn't like. It was hard to predict with polarizing things like these when you were inwardly trained to not broach the subject.

"I think to pull off something like that we would at least have to win over the cooperation of a cat named *********, who, I admit, I see as too gentle to handle certain truths." Even if ********* was somehow entirely unaware of the Blood Moon Court rumors, she didn't exactly strike Zirconia as someone who would even tolerate stories of past exploits, much less facilitate new ones by pointing out new blood. ********* was too ********* other option was to make more contacts with more cats, and Zirconia was aware of this, but didn't dare suggest it herself. She hated making friends.

Scylla crossed her ankles, huffing out air through her nose. Irritated? No. Thoughtful? Yes. There were a lot of things to consider.

One thing that surprised her was that Nemesis didn't want the cloak. It didn't much surprise her that Albali was choosing to keep the cloak. Truth be told, getting the red now wasn't the same feeling for Scylla as if she had gotten it before... it was still nice, but the pride of acknowledgment wasn't there as stiffly as if Ares had passed it to her. There wasn't as much to be proud about, in a way.

"Sirius, Serpentarius, I understand what you are saying about the need to remain secret. I don't think Birhan is saying- and correct me if I am misunderstanding, Bir- that we need to give off the impression of being pussycats. We are the ******** Blood Moon Court. The problem comes down to, however, that right now we are weak." It hurt to say it, and the words were almost stuttered out, rushed. "We need more people. We lost more than Ares. It's been blow after blow for a while, and until we can muster our forces and get everything back on track, we are vulnerable. I like your idea of recruiting newer senshi. Raise them right, make sure they know what we offer."

What could the Blood Moon offer? Family? A target painted to the back? "It isn't just all recruitment though. We need to decide..." Scylla blew out air, glancing at the redhead who was leader of the Court. "We need to decide how we're going to handle the issue of the defectors. Not all of them were Cadets, to be written off as losses. We had a lot of Mercs run, and you know I don't blame them. I don't want to punish them, especially not the traditional way." Rules had been rules when Ares was the leader, and look what sticking to the rules had wrought. Then again, she didn't ever remember a Merc- or ISS member- leaving the Court before without being dead. "I guess that's going to come down to the bigger question of: What happens now?" There was so ******** much to think about.

Birhan nodded to both of Nemesis' comments. The second was unexpected, but she was willing to not discuss it as Nemesis requested. The first, regarding the BMC's level of secrecy, was something that would need the group's input. Birhan bit her tongue, aware that she needed to step back from personal feelings to put the good of group first. And, y'know, let other people have their say.

So Sirius and Serpentarius agreed with Nem, Birhan counted a tally in her head. She gave both girls reassing smiles, glad to have their support and continued presence in the BMC. The fact that people felt comfortable speaking their minds was a good thing - as Albali had pointed out, the last thing they needed was a repeat of the same power imbalance as last time.

"I have to admit that I wouldn't be surprised if it takes some lying - or leaving out certain information - to win us a less undesirable image," Birhan said wryly to Zirconia. "Be that to other cats or to other senshi. In this case, I think it's needed. We can't fight a war on multiple fronts. If the group consensus is that we remain secretive, we at least need to be sure that the other senshi aren't going to stab us in the back while we make our moves against the Negaverse."

Stupid Wolframite and his blabbing mouth. To chibi senshi, no less, kids that shouldn't even be in this war, let alone believing the words of the enemy.

"Zirconia, if you think that this ********* can help with our recruiting - or even just better PR - let us know what you need from us. I'm willing to meet and play nice, as are several others, I'm sure." Birhan avoided looking in Nemesis' direction, only too sure that the blue-and-black-clad senshi was not their best PR officer.

Scylla, as per usual recently, got what Birhan had been aiming at. "******** no, we're not nice and fluffy senshi. But we can show ourselves off as being professional and serious without giving the impression that we're serial killers and torturers - which is what the Negaverse has been spreading about." Their best policy regarding Operation Rota might be 'deny, deny, deny!', but that didn't mean hiding who they were as a Court, or what their goals were.

"Does anyone else have any thoughts on the defectors, other than 'good riddance'?" If they couldn't handle a corrupt Ares, how they thought they were gonna deal with Tanzanite was beyond Birhan. Better to get rid of the weak-willed now. "Punishment sounds all well and good, but if we're trying to recruit and be seen as not-psycho-killers..." Well, that might limit just how much punishment could be done.

Birhan shrugged and swept the group with her gaze. All input was welcome at this point. She could feel the faint strain around her eyes indicating a headache would be raging later on. It was tiring, suddenly having to think so politically. Instead of acting on her own opinions and desires, Birhan now had to consider the group and how her actions would come across to them, and how the groups' actions would be viewed by outsiders... It wasn't an easy task. But then again, Birhan hadn't signed up for easy.

"There needs to be a hierarchy, which means there must be punishment. If we are going to try and pull off big things especially against Ares new court then we don't need senshi joining, staying around and then running off and blabbing to others. I have seen senshi chatting to the other side before and if they start finding out our plans then we are screwed. So for that reason there needs to be commitment and a way to keep it is to punish those who leave. Give them a trial time or something but there has to be order if we want to pull something big off." Sirius had spent a long time thinking about things.

"Other than that I am fine with everything else you have said." She didn't want the BMC to become nothing, it was her family and she loved it. She wasn't going to let it fall to nothing but she wasn't going to let it change into one of those other teams that just fight when they have to but otherwise carry on as normal.
