The demon smiled with satisfaction seeing the reaper take a dive to only sink like he suspected. "Poor, Soul Herder, even in your dreams you can't swim." It didn't really sound like he sympathized with the problem in the least.
He watched for a moment, curious if Shun would startle awake or if the dream would change but instead a rope shot up out of the water which he had to maneuver to avoid and at the end came the reaper. Titus looked less than pleased that Shun had a fair amount of control over his environment even more so when daggers came flying at him in all directions. He was almost too distracted with trying to dodge to notice the platforms that Shun had created. When he finally looked back Shun was almost to him but instead of moving Titus merely summoned chains, always a favorite, to come bursting from the platform Shun had just stepped on.
The chains shot out in all directions before converging back toward the reaper in a massive strike like a snake with multiple heads. They aimed to hit and bind anything they could manage hoping to keep the reaper down. "I see you've learned a few tricks. You must have had some teacher."

Gripping onto his daggers, Shun was ready to try and sink them deep into Titus. It wouldn't be quite like the real thing, but that didn't reduce his desire any less. As he launched himself at the flying demon, he failed to notice the chains right away. He tried to twist out of the way but it was too late. They had snaked on around him and caused the Reaper to come crashing down onto the platform.
"Most of this was on my own. I was really only given the starting point," he hissed while fighting his bindings.
The area around was still rather dark and almost storming. Ominous clouds loomed overhead, with flashes of lightning sparking out here and there. More platforms had appeared around, and the ground and water below had seemingly disappeared completely.
"Though I guess someone like you would need a teacher to do the fancier things, despite it being your sort of thing," he said lowly.

Titus looked rather calm and collected but in the back of his mind he realized that was a close call. He could easily be expelled from the dream if damaged enough and he didn't want to give Shun any bright ideas.
Touching down on the platform not far from the reaper he made his way toward him but as he approached the platform began to give way and crumble behind him falling into the void below. He smiled that toothy smile that seemed to showcase his mouth full of jagged teeth as he drew near, not in the least bothered by what Shun was saying.
"You're not as good at getting under skin, Soul Herder. A for effort I suppose." The chains continued to circle Shun, gripping and pulling and tugging him flat against the platform. "Yes, my father taught me a great deal and you know what, he's never looked at me quite like your father looks at you. Like you are a burden, a waste of space."
Titus knew Shun's father was a key element to most of the reaper's dreams and he knew that in the reaper's subconscious he probably still haunted him even if he did have control. The changing atmosphere was proof of that. "Why don't we say hello to the old man, eh?"

Gritting his teeth, Shun struggled against the chains, but they only continued to tighten and constrict around his body. And then, as if on cue, a voice resonated through the area after Titus spoke.
"Always a failure. Even here." it said. There was no body to go with the voice, but the owner of it was unmistakable.
The Reaper was starting to lose his grip on the dream. Closing his eyes tightly, he took in a deep breath while trying to remind himself where he really was. These chains were not real. They could not really bind him. His father was not here, nor did he matter all that much.
"Even after going to the best school around, you can't do a damn thing."
Shun was quiet for the most part now. He was focused too much at this point to regain control of the situation. He did utter one thing though.
"No.."

Ah and there he was, maybe not physically visible but there was that voice. Always stern and full of disappointment. "For a reaper your father had a good eye for failure. I'll give him that."
The demon was eating this up now. He was winning this little struggle and the prize at the end was glorious. He could feel Shun's grip slipping on the dream, the reigns dropping allowing Titus a bit more control.
"What's the matter, Soul Herder? Cat got your tongue or is the truth of being worthless silencing you?" There wasn't much left of the platform now. Only a small amount around Shun and a bit at Titus' feet.

Shuddering a bit, Shun kept his eyes closed, as he continued his efforts to regain control. He could hear the platforms around them crumbling away. It wouldn't take much for the one he laid on to fall away, allowing him to drop down into the void below.
There was one slight difference though. The thundering clouds were still around, but they had gone still. This became more evident as a bolt of lightning in the distance remained locked in place. Things had gone quiet as well. It seemed, at the very least, he had prevented things from progressing for the time being.
"No," he hissed slowly, "Your father has looked at you that way. Always the one to start s**t. The one causing strain on our family alliances and causing trouble. That's burden enough in itself."
Sneering, he finally opened his eyes to lock onto Titus. The chains were still tightly wound around his own body but that didn't stop him from causing iron bars to burst out around the demon to try and cage him in as well.

The smile Titus had faded rather quickly. Mostly because Shun was right. His father had looked at him with disappointment more often than he liked to think about, Titus' only problem was that usually made him stir up more trouble. True their families had an alliance and true his father was rather fond of their dealings with the Kuroda family but Titus was not. Reapers were scum and being demons they were the superior race. His father was just too foolish to understand.
"The burden are you reapers. Nothing but human posers that can barely do their jobs correctly." He would have taken the last couple of steps toward Shun but bars came up around him caging him in. He looked at his confined space having barely enough room to stretch out his arms. "Well, then." Titus sneered leaning against the bars. "Seems we are in a bit of a stand still." Though the ground was still slowly crumbling away. Time was running out.

"We do our jobs well enough. You know how much less FEAR there'd be flowing in if it weren't for us?" Shun hissed. He caught that grin wiping away from Titus's face. It was merely confirmation that he had rang the bell on that one.
Letting out a breath, he looked around at the crumbling platform around them both. Indeed, they were running out of time here. In fact, the world around was slowly dissolving, starting at the far edges.
"Perhaps we are. You won't be so lucky should we fight outside of the dream realm, though. Or the next time I find your sorry a** in here," he glowered in response.

"Keh, The monsters do a better job. They aren't worth much outside their grunt work but they do more than you." Not all monsters were created equal and Titus didn't really care.
Seeing the dream around them start to crumble, Titus leaned through the bars a bit. "We shall Soul Herder, we shall see." With that Titus allowed the ground below his feet to crumble. He offered no real parting words but did flip Shun the bird as he allowed himself to plummet down into the abyss below disappearing from site as he exited the dream by will.
When Titus opened his eyes the scene around him was much the same as it had been before he had began his dream manipulation. Collecting himself he stood from his seat and headed back toward the demon dorms for the time being a slightly amused smile on his face. This was going to be new and challenging.

Shun had nothing else to say to Titus, as he merely glared at the demon while the world around them broke away. As the ground below him fell apart, he closed his eyes and tried to brace himself.
Soon after he fell, his eyes shot open as he jerked awake. As expected, he was in his room. Breathing a little heavily, he slowly had himself relax back down before looking to the side where Mitsu was supposed to be, hoping he hadn't waken her up with that sudden start.

At some point during Shun's sleep Mitsu had woken from his twitching and movements. She wasn't sure if she should wake him, wasn't that supposed to be bad? Instead she had turned toward him placing her hands lightly on his face hoping to calm him from whatever nightmare he was having. It didn't seem to help because shortly after he jerked awake, his eyes flying open. The action startled Mitsu enough that she let out a squeak nearly falling back and off the bed.
It took her a moment to collect herself, pulling herself closer again as Shun looked her way, breathing heavily from what ever dream had been haunting him. "Are you okay?" She asked, lightly placing a hand against his cheek.

The squeak made it apparent that Mitsu had already been awake. Taking a few moments to collect himself, he leaned into her touch and nodded quietly.
"Yeah. I am," he murmured while bringing a hand up to place over hers. Shun didn't say anything else right away, but after a moment or so, he did say some more.
"At the theater. Before you came in, I was speaking to a demon. Do you remember who I'm talking about?"

Mitsu furrowed her brows a bit. She had asked before but Shun had told her it was someone to avoid and she figured that was all that needed said. After a moment she nodded, the image of the boil coming to mind. "Mostly black clothes, dark hair, white eyes...horns?" Yeah she remembered.
"You...said to avoid him." She said softly finally allowing her head to rest back into the pillow as she stared at Shun. Why had he brought him up now all of a sudden? It seemed a little strange.

Nodding at the description, Shun soon let out a sigh while moving a little closer to let a hand rest at Mitsu's side.
"And you should. Though most likely once he finds out about who you are to me, it'll be somewhat difficult," he frowned, "His name is Titus. He's a nightmare demon. He comes from a family that works with mine often, but he is certainly no ally of mine. And you could say he paid me a little visit a few moments ago."
Grimacing a bit at this, he looked into her eyes and added, "If possible.. I want you to try and improve your lucid dreaming as much as possible. Unlike Xiu, when his intentions are not benign when he comes into your dreams."

Mitsu frowned a bit, the news suddenly ominous. So it was someone Shun knew well and not in a good way. "He enters dreams too?" She asked looking concerned. Nightmare demon...didn't sound good. Mitsu did well enough to sleep soundly when Shun was around.
"I..I'll try." She commented softly. Mitsu didn't really want to admit that she was no good at lucid dreaming. It was still a challenge to become aware that it was a dream and even more so to keep the dream from breaking once she realized it was a dream. Her initial reaction was always to wake up which left her tired but still restless.
"D..Do you really think he'll bother me?" It seemed to make her a little edgy. She didn't know him but then again bullies often sought out victims for no real reason at all.
