Zar smirked, finally glad to have a captive and inexperienced audience to actually make him feel like not quite so much of an anxious wreck. "Well. Since I got here I've heard lots of things, but one of the worst is something to do with a student terrorist group. They wear red capes and cause havoc. Its something to do with a teacher who got fired or something like that. But it's landed the school in a huge amount of trouble." He could remember how close things had seemed to complete closure, with everyone sent home. "The school almost got shut down and would have been had one of the staff not managed to find a testing loophole. And that's not even the worst of it, the terrorist students attack their own classmates too."
He jabbed a claw in the direction of the gyms and forest where the run in with the hunters had occurred. "They trapped us, and then after humiliating us set the whole lot of us on fire. I don't know what their agenda is, but they are bad bad news. If anyone in a red cape tries to talk to you, don't have anything to do with them."

"S... sounds... not fun.. downright intimidating actually. I'll be sure to heed your warnings. Though..." He trailed off looking thoughtful before looking around.
"... anything nice about this place at least?" He had to ask. Zar had honestly made him feel incredibly scared of the whole thing already and he's only even been here one day.

Zar tapped his chin. "They have a nice library?" He offered, looking around. "And some of the students are nice. The ones who aren't dangerous. Though I'm not sure exactly how to tell the two kinds apart.." he frowned. "I'm harmless though, I really couldn't fight my way out of anything important. The last time I tried to attack anything I almost broke my nose."
He closed some of the books. "Other than that.. I'm afraid I can't really offer much in the way of good. So far since arriving I've been captured, burned, beaten, publically humiliated. The only really good thing I've gained is shoes so I don't fall over all the time." he actually admitted for the first time "Its..pretty scary." Because it was, everyone else just seemed so fine with it. And being scary was the point right?

"Well... crap." Not only did what Zar say sound completely disheartening. He couldn't even trust him with regard to his harmlessness. Still.. he had more questions.
"So... I know you read and write for fun... but what about the other students?" Hah, other students might eat him alive anyway if what Zar was saying was all true to the T.

Zar gave him a curious little look. "Well, the other students vary of course, everyone does. Some are interested in tedious things like battling all the time, some seem interested in.." he wracked his brains, he hardly even knew anyone enough to be able to say what they were interested in, he was still extremely new, and as students went, lacking a close circle of friends. There was Riyo he counted as a friend at least. She..liked... "Well some like cats? But there's as varied interests as there are students."
He had to fight the urge to pout however. "Paperwork isn't my only interest. I like.." again he had to wrack his brains, how could he even begin to sound interesting? "..ties. I have ones that play music?" It was such a feeble sad little thing to say, he realised after he said it, mentally waving a flag of surrender, really he couldn't make himself sound interesting if he tried.

He bobbed his head along thoughtfully at his attempts at offering suggestions but then...
"Ties?" He asked looking confused.
"Ones that play music?" Well. His curiosity was piqued.
"Where are such things as music-playing ties?" Not that he really had a clue what musical ties were like. He was just.... curious while at the same time trying to be nice. The demon was extending his olive branch and Nuru wasn't a big enough p***k to burn said branch instead of taking it.

Zar nodded feebly almost immediately regretting mentioning the ties, they really couldn't be that exciting to anyone else, at least no one else who understood the significance of them to his private rebellion against his father. "I have them in my dorm. They are just..happy. Bright." Had his tail not been twined around the tail he'd have had to fight the urge to practically wag it at how much even the thought of them heartened him. "Colour." Colour meant a lot of things to a boil who was naturally devoid of it physically everywhere but the clinging remnants of violet in his eyes.
He shrugged his shoulders. "They aren't a huge deal or anything. My father hates them though."

"Ah. I see. A rebel without a cause then?" He playfully smirked at Zar.
Still. His expression softened a bit as he pried a bit further, "You have a father then?"
He lacked one himself, not like he was about to baw about no mother or father unless the demon himself was curious enough to pry.

Zar frowned. "Unfortunately. I wish I didn't have one though, he's a control freak. An emotionless control freak. And he wants me to be like him. I'm failing obviously, you seen how I freaked out at even being interrupted. He would have...he would have just..turned to stare back at you. And stared, and stared. Until you got fed up and left. Or he put his stuff away and left. I'm..nothing like him." he sighed. "And my mother's the opposite but she wants me to be like /her/ too. Its lovely. I'm like neither of them. I'm the failure in the middle." he smirked wrly. "Sometimes I wonder if they just found me in the pumpkin patch and maybe I was meant to belong to someone else altogether."

"I hear that happens" He teased playfully before changing the subject altogether as he couldn't... add to it.
"So. Do you eat things?" He distantly mused while peering around the room.
He was already dreadfully bored of the library and quietly hoped Zar wouldn't say that he ate books too. Dooming him to never be able to coax this new companion elsewhere.

Zar shrugged his shoulders. "Sometimes. Its not something I look forward to since it usually means I have to leave my room to do it. But yes, I do. Why do you ask?" he gave Nuru a genuinely puzzled look. He really wasn't used to people who weren't Al actually dropping hints he go anywhere with them. It didn't help his ability to notice hints was non existant in the first place. "Need help finding the cafeteria?"

He was genuinely baffled and not sure how to respond to the question being turned back on himself like that. Humming and hawing distractedly until Zar implied he didn't know the way to the cafeteria.
"! YES! That. I don;t know the way to the cafeteria." he vaguely parroted Zars question back at him in the form of an answer.
Though. He mused. He actually didn't know where it was. At least he wasn't made a liar in his awkwardly feeble attempt at reaching out to other people.

Zar was rather surprised how much he was sticking his foot in his mouth every time he said something to the boil in front of him, looking suddenly rather sheepish. "Erm. I don't actually know the way either." he admitted. "Yes, I've been here a few weeks and I've not gotten the..courage to ask anyone the way to the cafeteria. I usually just.. go to town to get things to eat" He frowned, his social failures really were well and truly on show today, weren't they. He had to shrug.
"I have some barbequeue bat wings in my dorm though? Left over from the last time I went to the town. If you are really hungry. Or we could go looking for wherever people actually eat around here."

At least Nuru felt considerably less awkward and stupid. He wasn't the only one who didn't know. Smiling softly at Zar as he distantly gazed at him. Seemingly lost in thought for a bit as his nostrils flared a bit.
"Ah... that actually sounds awesome. I'm starving... well... sorta starving. For a ghost." He chuckled at how awkward it was to try and describe it... still...
"Feed me?" He offered up a toothy pleading smile.

The paperwork demon wasn't used to being looked at so intently, it was almost unnerving the way the other boil stared and on some level it made him self concious, as if there was some reason he wasn't aware of he was being examined so closely. But at the same time... it was flattering to be the object of such focused attention. He was a demon, he was allowed a bit of vanity now and then. Still, he had to clear his throat to stop himself staring back.
"Well. If you are hungry and it's an immediate thing, you could come back to the demon dormitories and we could break into my food stash, I only topped it up the other day. Would save wandering around campus in search of something that, at the end of the day, might be some sort of myth."
