"A kick? O-oh, no, I couldn't... I wouldn't dream of hurting another reaper's familiar," Anna said, giving False a startled look. "That thing was strong. It seemed like it was way stronger than the house... and it looked weird, too. Like some of it was... um. Broken, maybe?" She gave the tree-corpse a nervous look. Even if it was ashes now it still looked a little weird to her. "I just want to get out and go ho- ... um, go back to my room. At Amityville." She scuffed at the floor with one foot.

"Really? Well, suit yourself, it's rather therapeutic." He glanced at the smug little mane coon ink monster shaking his head. "He's more trouble then he's worth sometimes. Really." Slowly he shifted his attention to the now dead tree laying near them very much burned to a crisp.
"Broken? Don't know it seemed like a small angry tree like the big angry tree in the middle of the Maul." Sharpie at this point was poking and pawing at the wood chars curiously.
"Honestly, I have no clue how we'll get out, emergency shutters and barricades seem to be holding us in. Unless we can find a way to the roof maybe?"
Sharpie turned looking back, "You know your experiments with fire propelled flight failed...." The reaper winced visibly at this mention, "Sharpie don't ever speak of that again, it's just an idea where we might be able to get out..."

"Just another angry tree," Anna echoed, uneasily. Then she tilted her head back to stare at the ceiling. "I should've just stayed home... you just came shopping? Are you a student at the Academy too?" Small talk in this situation? Stupid, maybe, but somehow the vague assertion of normalcy was reassuring. Shibey took a few steps to the side, just in case there were more ideas about fire-propelling familiars anywhere.

"Lots of them really. The big tree was dropping all kinds of little things to run around the maul." He was back to staring at the ceiling again, Sharpie pacing around him in circles. "Eh the Academy? No. Not yet at least? My parents sent the paper work and shipped me off here to keep me away from causing them trouble. Till I get a letter saying I'm in I'm stuck at a small little inn." Small talk was fine with the boil, better then bickering with Sharpie about how to get out.
On that note however he reached down picking the cat up. "Up and at em cat, see what's above." Without another word he flung the cat up to the 2nd floor snapping his fingers to give it a boost as it burst into flames.
"If he see's any more up there. We'll know." He didn't add that it would most likely be at Sharpies own well being if they found anything. A moment later the small cat would poke its head out from between a railing.
"All clear," the cat chirped.
"Well Anna, shall we venture up a floor and see if we can find a better way out?"

Anna stared at the cat and the flames and was the cat on fire? she really hoped the cat wasn't on fire. "We're, um, going to take the stairs, right?" she squeaked, hurrying over towards the nearest stopped escarelator and tapping the immobile handrail gingerly. "I'm not the flying kind of witch..."

Yes the cat was on fire. No it was not hurt. Yes it was supposed to do that. All things False would have said had she actually asked the questions related to them. With a nod he moved to follow her to a stopped escarelator.
"And pyromancers weren't meant to fly. Course it didn't stop me from trying once as the cat pointed out." He mounted the steps moving along them happily turning to see what was going on above on the second floor. In the distance something banged and the sound of chaos could be heard.
Had the boogymen arrived finally?
"Sounds like somethings up.... do you want to find out or...?" He paused looking back one eyebrow raised towards the witch, she seemed rather jumpy so best to let her decide if going towards the chaos was good with her.
By now Sharpie had returned pacing circles and figure eights between False's legs.

"Or maybe everyone's being eaten," Anna said with a maudlin sigh. "Let's see what's up there? If we can get out? Um, please?"She shuffled for a moment, then sighed again, though Sharpie's antics brought a faint smile to her face. "This kind of thing never happened back home. I'm not used to it, I guess," she said, by way of apology. It had been both intoxicating and icky to be around the others, with their emotions running high and fueling this strange new hunger in her own mind. At least False didn't prompt that kind of thing. The other Reaper seemed quite grounded. "I'll do whatever you want to do, just don't... uh, don't go? If that's okay..."

"Nah, people would scream more like ahhh nooo help meee kinda screams. This noise is more like someone coming in and cleaning up a mess like the hero at the end of the movie with a flamethrower." Very specific analogy, must have been one of those rambo like movies with that Reaper Garnold Swanzanagor.
"My dear where I'm from if it isn't on fire, it will be on fire or can be on fire it shortly will be. Though most people call that 'self defense' the cat is just special like that because his FEAR is the fuel to my FEAR spark of fire. One and one makes a lovely burning situation."
Slowly he moved towards the noise head tilted before pausing to look back. "Well I won't go but you should catch up as that noise could be are ticket out and up here should be able to sneak by...."

"Okay." Anna took a deep breath. "Let's go - if we get in trouble you can set it on fire and I can... curse it. Or whatever." She squared her shoulders and tried to look tough when he looked back at her. Then she hurried to catch up, hugging Shibey to her chest.

"Now your talking Anna dear." His hands snapped outward twin flames appearing in his grasp as he turned towards the chaos. Sharpie ran near as well leaping onto his shoulder the flames suddenly burning higher and brighter.
"Burn bright," the reaper whispered.
"Burn hot," the cat whimed in.
"And let no one put out your souls fire." The said together before moving ahead to see what was going on. When they finally got closer they could see Boogymen running about attacking the creatures of JOY, pure chaos all around though.
"Jack damn...." he muttered, "Anna come here, stay low look at them all..."

The impromptu poem was rather cool, Anna thought, but she didn't get a chance to say so - the words were snatched away before she even opened her mouth. Instead, she stared at the sudden chaos. With oh thank Jack Boogeymen! Adults! To save them all! "We're saved!" she blurted out, wobbling slightly with relief and hugging Shibey tightly enough that a faint whuff! of breath escaped the Incubator's small form. "Wait, why... stay low? Aren't they here to save us and stuff? They're Boogeymen! Right?"

"I have a bad record with Boogymen if you don't mind me saying to be honest." He poked his head up watching all the chaos, people being tugged left and right, sometimes it was hard to tell what was fighting what. His flames burned lower keeping hidden in his hands, but heat and smoke still slipped between his fingers.
"We can't be sure of what they plan to do till we know." He frowned, "But I guess... I didn't do anything to irritate them."
Sharpie looked over from False's shoulder, "A few accidental fires and you would think we where the bad guys!"

"Accident... oooh..." Anna cringed, then sank down to conceal herself a little bit better. "You helped me, so... I won't say anything. But I don't want to fight more trees either. Maybe just... resting... wouldn't be so bad?"Resting, yes. That was what she was doing. Not hiding at all.

"Accidents are sometimes very big." The cat nodded sharp before hopping off False's shoulder curling up, tail wrapped around to use as a pillow as he lay. Slowly False sank down back against the railing shrugging a bit.
"Resting I guess isn't a bad idea, but I know others are still out and about around here...." He paused thinking of the angry Drugar boil. "On second thought they should be okay." With a squeeze of both fists the fires where out and False relaxed pulling his knees up to himself resting his arms on his knees.
"So the waiting game huh?" He reached into his jacket poking about pulling out a small book and pen poking Sharpie for ink to scribble something down.

"I-I guess?" Anna said, hesitantly, tucking her feet under herself. She still ached a bit from the tree's vicious attack. "I was with a few, um... people... from Amityville. I think they're probably okay..." She hoped so. If they'd been hurt because she'd run away... well, she didn't want to think about that.
