'Twas the invasion from Christmas, and all through the Maul,
Not a creature was safe, not even those who were tall.
The shops were all wrecked by creatures with care,
In hopes that Halloweeners would soon be there.
The yellow santa scout elf was wrecking the place,
While shoppers were busy defending their base.
And battlers on foot against an elf in machine,
Had just prepared themselves to cause quite a scene.
When out on the maul there arose such a clatter,
Nobody sprang from the shop to see what was the matter.
In through the windows something flew like a flash,
Glass shattering and tinkering with a mighty crash.
There between the parties stood two figures abreast,
Neither Halloween nor demented Insanity-driven guest.
When, to nobody's wondering eyes should appear,
But nothing more than two of the Rescue Reindeer.
With the only female reindeer, so lively and quick,
Spun around and to the yellow Santa Scout delivered a scissor-kick.
More rapid than eagles her partner performed a mighty leap,
Aiming for the machine's feet to quickly sweep!
"No wait! Don't do it! Stick to the plan!
You're going to throw everything down into the can!
Quick -- jump away from its knees! Deliver a kick to its shin!
You can still get away by your teeth's skin!"
As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
The male Rescue Reindeer was quick to die.
So up went the yellow scout's fist flew,
Battering away the tiny deer (which landed askew).
And then, in a twinkling, there came a soft sob,
As the reindeer in pink gazed upon the snow job.
She stood over her friend's body shock-still,
Standing defenseless and stunned on her own free will.
The elf in yellow ignored them both, from head to mechanic foot,
Raising and flexing the arm covered in Insanity-soot.
The deer was a bundle of nothing he had flipped onto its back,
And he didn't seem to have noticed that sickening
crack.His visor - how it twinkled! His cackle, how merry!
The machine continued to hum softly, ready to catch the unwary.
It took a step forward and made ready to smack,
The question is now:
