Subito couldn’t see or hear anything around him anymore. It felt as if he were running out of a dark cave and all his eyes could grasp was the shape of Amelie hanging limply from the maw of a sharp-toothed monster. Let her not be dead, the thought repeated itself in his head over and over again.
The jackal, distracted by its unusual attackers did not even notice – or perhaps dismissed – his charge but Subito wasn’t about to waste this one chance. He was going to make him let go of Amelie.
With an odd hiss, the young hare threw himself at the jackal’s muzzle and bit his nose as hard as he could as if he intended to take a piece of it with him.

Arri bent down to hoist the hare's jump higher.. It was apparent the determination the other had for their 'mother'. He didn't have time to react til he heard the hare hiss, and look up to find a beastily form of which he had never seen in the hare before. Subito... He nodded to himself, inwardly in accepting him now fully with respect than ever before.
The fishing eagle was still having fun dodging til the hare came under him and he lifted off as his talons dung and then released blood from the jackal's face.. It was a bloody show indeed, and the jackal- like Subito wanted- let go as soon as a chunk of his snout was torn and yelped in submission before shaking them all of, spitting out the hare and running.. But he couldn't get far before the honey bedger and the eagle came in after him.. They weren't done with him yet..
Amelies body fell, flowers gracing her fall behind as if guiding her... The sight, the sound made both Aiolos and Arri turn from chasing the jackal away.. They both gave room, but stared intensively.. They didn't know what to expect.. "Get the leafs............. GET THE LEAFS!" Arri yelled at Aiolos... and the bird quickly sped off in to the wind.. After having been shook from his daze.
Her body laid there, for a moment her chest did not rise.. then after a long silence it did.. Her maw opened just ever so slightly to inhale a second of breath.. mostly unconscious, the visions had subsided.. and finally..rest..

Blood. Subito didn’t think he had ever tasted blood before. His diet didn’t require it and neither did the hare’s appetite. The unfamiliar taste was nothing short of revolting but Subito didn’t let go of the beast until Amelie was released from its jaws. In the back of his mind he did notice the badger helping him up as well as Aiolos moving out of the way but when the jackal shook his head before running, the young hare was thrown back violently. He hit the ground hard and took a few seconds to get up again. Subito just stood there panting for an instant before he half-dragged himself to Amelie’s side and placed a paw on her rising chest as if to close one of the puncture wounds that had the most blood soaking the fur around it.
But he was on automatic now, blind and unresponsive to all stimulus and lost in his little world where only Amelie existed and he had no clue what he was supposed to do now. She was breathing though and that at least was enough not to break him completely.
“Amelie…?” the slow pleading whisper came out of his mouth without the hare even realizing it.

A moment passed and she inhaled, but released air more or less shaking. Aniruddha had slowly came up to Subito after a moment of just letting the two be alone.. "She will need some attention." His voice was low, as he slowly came up to them and sat down in front of them. "May I?" He knew the hare would be over protective, who wouldn't. They had all seen how close the two had become. And slowly put a paw to move some of her stomach fur to see the other side..
Blood decorated it and now Subito's stomach as well. Addy didn't exactly know what could be done. SHE was the one to take of THEM not the other way around.. "Once Aiolos comes back with those leafs, we will treat her as best as possible." It took Aiolos a good long time to return, and when he did- he landed roughly and the leafs flew almost out of his beak.. but after a quick peak from the air, he wobbled his way over and placed them on her stomach.
"Anything else I can do?"
"No.." Then he looked up at Subito. "With my paws, it will be hard.. focus Subito.. Focus. She needs to get wrapped in these. Your paws are the only nimble ones.." The same leafs she treated them with, and Addy was stern but soft when he spoke to Subito. He must have been going through shock. "FOCUS SUBITO!" He finally yelled out. "She needs you! SNAP OUT OF IT!"
Tears were already swelling in the badger's eyes and the same went for Aiolos.
"They need to be tight on the wounds." The leafs were probably big enough to wrap around her at least three times. They had been meant for the predators that they all were and was probably never meant for a hare.. "We have to act quickly. She will be ok- she will be OK." He tried to persuade them all in to thinking. If their wilddog company were here- Nafsi would have known better what to do. Especially with his mother so in to herbs but now the problem was in their lap and they had to do something. "I can talk to through it."

The shout pulled him back into reality – which, granted, wasn’t exactly the place where he wanted to be at that moment – but he somehow managed pull himself together. It was easier when there was someone telling him what to do. He did the best job he could as he followed the badger’s instructions as well as he could until he finally took one step back as he waited for confirmation. His eyes lingered on the other hare’s chest. Good, she was still breathing.
“She’ll be fine.” He said with a conviction he did not truly feel. She’d lost so must blood…
The brown hare leaned back to sit, his breathing still rapid and irregular. He was exhausted.
