Hearing the commotion as well Mitsu looked to Shun as he left before turning to Sammy in turn. What was going on? As she went to investigate she saw the last of the skindle skittering off leaving damage in their wake. "Ah, the pumpkins!"
This was no good, they needed to get help. "S..should we look for one of the Professors to tell them? Maybe they can help prevent another attack?"

Sammy had come running at the sound of a commotion, she had found nothing useful at all in the Infirmary other then pumpkins for reviving at, and even those where starting to look dinged up as another group of creatures ran through another room causing trouble.
"Cricket doesn't seem to be here, if she isn't here then the teachers have to be gathered somewhere. Her of all people would be watching over this place." She glanced around again frowning, "Worse yet it seems like there really isn't anything here we can use... The best we can do from here is maybe try to protect the place, or leave to find someone who can while we keep exploring."

"Perhaps we could try and see if we can protect the patch for now. If we are unable to, then we should probably try to seek out any of the faculty," Shun suggested. He wasn't entirely certain how to feel about leaving the patch alone right now. That aside, others may come by to help with the process as well.
"Mitsu.. do you think you can use your FEAR to help protect these? Don't try just yet. Wait to see when more of those creatures are coming by."

"I...I could try," Mitsu said looking over the damaged pumpkins. She hoped she could protect them but she really wasn't sure. From what she had seen there had been a lot of those little candles walking about. Her barrier could only cover so far. She also wondered how long she should wait. It would be better to prepare for an attack than wait for the last minute.
"S..So what should we do for now?" She was antsy now and really just wanted to be outside.

"Keep an eye out for any hostiles. If they really are targeting the patch, there should be more enemies coming up sooner or later."
A part of Shun wondered just who was behind all of this. Whoever it was, they seemed to have a fairly solid plan of action. Using a barrier and targetting the respawn point for the students. He also had to wonder if there was some source for all the creatures attacking in general.
"By the way, Mitsu. The JOY beings. Can you smell anything different about them?"

"Y...you mean beyond the smell of peppermint?" The scent had been rather strong so that had been overwhelming enough. Mitsu took a moment to breath in the air a bit only catching the faint smell of candle wax, fire, and holiday treats. Then she sneezed, the scent making her nose suddenly itchy.
"I..I guess not," Mitsu sniffled rubbing her nose lightly. moving about the infirmary Mitsu moved toward a window to peek out. "What do you think if happening elsewhere?"

"Well, peppermint scent is a start," Shun murmured while thinking of the question she had asked in return.
"It's likely safe to say that other students are out fighting these creatures here and there. There might even be a group dealing with where some of the JOY beasts come from. It may also be possible that the patch isn't the only target, though off the top of my head, I can't think of much... unless they want to take out certain individuals."
Like Hellma, perhaps. Or maybe even Arel. Or Cricket.

"I hope the others make it back to the dorm okay. You don't think they will be attacked do you?"
Now Mitsu was worried. Maybe they all should have stuck together and went to the dorms and then came here. There wasn't much they could do about it now she supposed but it didn't keep her from looking out the window hoping to catch sight of their friends.
Shun's suggestion on why the creatures were here had Mitsu thinking. Hadn't Lizzy said something about the students going to Christmas last year? Maybe this was sort of...revenge?

Shun thought of that for a bit before shrugging lightly.
"It's possible, but they can handle themselves. If that penguin thing is any indicator, these foes can be rather weak. The others should be fine. And if not.. well. They'll still end up joining us here."

That did not make Mitsu feel better. In fact, it did quite the opposite. The only thing she had to compare dying to was slowly being consumed by fire. Being burned alive slowly and actually hoping you would finally die to be spared of the pain wasn't something she would wish on anyone.
Letting out a soft whimper the lycan started to pace looking to the door. Maybe they should find everyone and then come back? It would help to have greater numbers wouldn't it so that they could make sure the infirmary stayed safe?

Hearing that whimper, Shun glanced over at Mitsu and frowned lightly.
"Don't worry too much. One way or another, they'll be fine," he tried to reassure, "Just keep an eye out for the enemy right now. We'll meet up with the others later."

"JOY is a funny thing though isn't it?" Sammy continued to move about the room making one last check for any candlestick minions. "It's not like the Hunters and the Insanity they use, I don't think it can consume FEAR, just hurt us the way we hurt one another in a sparing match."
She finally settled in taking a seat on a table resting the prop sword across her lap. She was growing fond of her new toy even if it wasn't all that sharp. Dare she say it, she was almost jealous of hunters for getting toys like they did.
"I wonder if every power has an opposite, like a Sorrow or something that can eat JOY, or something that can consume Insanity, even something that FEAR can rip apart like the Insanity does to us."

"I don't know if opposite is the correct term. Courage would be the opposite of fear, technically," Shun stated while thinking about what Sammy said. It did, however, make him wonder exactly what Insanity was. Was it some sort of mutation off of FEAR? Like a cancer?
"It may be possible there is something that would devour and drain JOY, though. The question is... are there any beings or even humans out there that would seek this out?"
Were there human factions hunting each of the holidays? It seemed a little ridiculous to him.

Mitsu just nodded slightly remaining silent while Sammy and Shun conversed. It was an interesting idea. Surely there was something that effected Joy the same way or maybe Insanity infected Joy like it did their FEAR. It was hard to say since Mitsu knew little about it. She only knew so much about insanity knowing that it could take a deep hold and refuse to let go. It had taken hold of Red after all.

The longer they sat the more on edge Mitsu had become. She could have sworn she heard noise in the distance and because of that her fear began to pool into her shadow, the black figure at her feet flickering like a flame on the floor. Soon white void like eyes appeared in the darkness shortly before her shadow began to pull away from the floor. The inky mass shifted and reformed until it finally made the figure of a large shadow wolf.
"Watch the pumpkins." Mitsu commanded softly and as she asked the wolf made its way over to stand guard.
