Before's eyes narrowed at Jude. "Don't talk like you were there," he snarled, suddenly ducking down to sweep Jude off his feet with a kick. "I haven't seen you on any of the missions and trainings I've been on!" He promptly straightened up, raising Vanna overhead and followed up with a hammer blow using the wheel's broad side. "And I wasn't complaining! I was giving you context!" he hotly finished.

Down he went and then he was hit by the wheel and for a brief moment he laid flat on the ground holding his hourglass and...Laughing.
Laughing as if Before had suddenly told the most wonderful joke.
"Oh? I don't give a flying ******** about what you went through," he sat up and started to get back on his feet, "all I am hearing is bitching and not context. Bitching and not seeing you do squat about the situation you are in. All I am seeing is you throwing mini pity parties every time I turn around and see you."
This time he stalked forward and jabbed his weapon upward into Before's jaw, "We all lost something. We all lost someone. Get the ******** over yourself."

Before gave out a choked sound, partly out of the fact Jude had just shoved the hourglass practically through his throat, and partly out of frustration and anger. It was hard to justify and explain when you were choking and he fell hard onto his back, struggling to breathe when it felt like he just had his windpipe crushed.
Before was... starting to look a little blue there...

Jude uttered a sound that was a mix between concern and frustration especially when the other fell down and pretty much seemed like they were choking to death. This was either theatrics or this was something real. Jude knelt by Before, "See? Now you're all over excited and tense and you're choking. Cripes. Um, try to relax, deep slow breaths."
At least Jude wasn't smacking him around more.

Before couldn't believe it but... this could be the worst spar he's ever been in. Yes, worse than the one with Candace. At least that ended relatively quickly. This... felt like it was going to take a while. He barely made out what Jude was telling him. Relax?
Relax?
The guy just shoved a pointy object against Before's throat it's a wonder he hadn't started bleeding all over the place. And instead was having a hard time breathing and he wanted Before to relax? It was like they've never met before...
Before attempted to snarl at him, except succeeded only in making gurgles as he reached out to try and poke Jude in the throat. With his finger. Because he didn't have the breath to use Vanna. See how he like a taste of his own medicine!

The life trainee did little else except roll onto his stomach while continuing to gasp for air. He needed a jump start. So to speak. A swift strike to the back ought to do it. But how does one convey this without speech?
Blindly, wildly, he swung Vanna at Jude's legs, hoping to perhaps topple the death trainee onto him.

Before got his wish because no sooner had that happened than Jude toppled right on top of the choking hunter with a firm elbow jabbing right into his back as Jude was trying to protectively cradle his weapon in case it would shatter on impact (which it wouldn't).
Jude tried to scramble off of Before soon after.

There was a sharp rush of air exiting Before's lungs as Jude did as he had hoped. Okay he wasn't counting on an elbow drop, but a drop was a drop and it was enough to expand his throat open and allow him to start breathing right. No, modern medicine doesn't work that way, but it was also entirely possible that the impact was enough to allow Vanna to absorb enough FEAR to fix her partner up.
However it happened, Before could breathe now and he was doing his best to refill his lungs with air. While still on the floor. Which was proving more trying with Jude still on him and so he returned the favor and elbowed him off.
"Stop -wheeze- crushing -wheeze- lungs..."

Jude fell off of Before with a heavy thud, "Stop making things worse," he grunted back as he kicked out a leg at Before's side from where he landed on the floor.

Before would have snapped back at Jude were it not for the foot kicking into his side making him curl up in on himself. A few deep breaths later, Before got to wobbly knees, "Dude just what is your problem with me?" he rasped. "You think I just sat there while they just waled on me?" he demanded with a scowl, and promptly took a swing at Jude. And by "swing", Before lunged forward to shove Vanna's spokes into Jude.

"It seems to be what you do every other time. Am I the only one that can get you so pissed off that you will actually do something?" Jude challenged despite the hit that came soon afterward.
Jude shifted a bit and kicked up at Before's gut.

"Getting angry is so not a good thing. And I just happen to not be an angry guy," Before's cheeks puffed up. And he promptly pulled Vanna back to act as a make-shift shield when Jude kicked up at him. Unfortunately there was enough strength in that kick that Before still felt it through his weapon. Hopefully, Jude's foot hitting the solid wheel would hurt the death trainee back.
With a grunt, Before took several steps back, "I wasn't moping in my room this time around," :/ "I was about to take a ******** nap. You know? That short period of rest that's not long enough to be sleep but just enough to refresh you?" he glowered.

"I didn't say angry. I said pissed off." Jude pointed out after a small grunt from the pain of the self-inflicted hit he took from kicking and getting a bit of the wheel. He Moved to stand up and moved to kick at Before's shin - a returning of the favor from earlier.
"My apologies, then. I still wanted a rematch either way."

A yelp and shin-rub later, Before huffed, "Didn't think there was a difference. They're both states of unpleasant emotions that tends to lead to violent reactions." He fixed his teal eyes at the death trainee, "And I would have said yes at a later time." >:/ He made to swat at Jude, just with his bare hand, "And why's it that the only time you'd ever approach me is so you can try to kick my a**, huh?"
