"Elite Nyx, huh...? All right, I guess I'll try talking to her." Lilith wasn't entirely sure she knew who this 'Nyx' was. She might have met her very briefly once before or something... Regardless, she stored the name in the back of her mind for future reference. It might be difficult to approach Nyx if she was indeed an Elite, but Lilith mused that it shouldn't be too overwhelming. After all, she had to get into some department or other eventually - the sooner, the better. With any luck, Elite Nyx would have the ability to help her with that.

The compliment did bring a small smile to Lilith's face, but she quickly regain her seriousness when she spoke up again. "I, uh, I don't really mean to pry, Faleen, but who helped you get into the department you're in now? I mean, I'm sure a lot of it was your talent for technology and machinery, but surely someone helped give you your start in it?" Lilith wasn't entirely sure why she asked. Partially it was out of pure curiosity, but maybe something or someone that assisted Faleen with her work could be able to do the same for her.

The object that had currently caught the Gastly's eye seemed, in her opinion, to be little more then a pile of scrap junk near the corner of the spacious room. She peered about it for a moment, the continued her grand quest. ["So,"] she asked the Zoroark, ["do you do anything much around here? Like, with the machinery and all that? Surely you don't just sit around here all day doing nothing, yeah?"] That would get awfully dull after a while, Nerezza had to admit. Then again, she was a Pokemon of short attention span.

Faleen knew Nyx, she was a good Rocket and probably closest thing to a personal friend Faleen really had.
Nyx was also a proud member of the team, and would always welcome a chance to advance the knowledge of the organization. so Faleen could have faith that Nyx would at least listen to Lilith's proposal.

"Who helped me?" Faleen repeated the question, looking a little taken aback that she was being asked something like that. But it was quickly followed with a more thoughtful pause.
"Well, no one really... Seth gave me every opportunity I could hope for, but when it came to finding and applying for those opportunities I was on my own."
she explained. "I had to work myself up to his approval of coarse."

Faleen offered this answer with a small smile "I was raised that way though, I had to apply for numerous clubs and apprenticeship programs when it came to my robotic and engineer studies"

Zoroark blinked, glancing back to the ghost type. She shrugged lightly.

Faleen seemed somewhat taken aback by Lilith's sudden query, but she indeed answered, even though her answer wasn't entirely what Lilith had wanted to hear. It was rather impressive that Faleen had gotten so much credit and gained so much prowess just through her own efforts. Lilith did not know Seth terribly well - she only briefly interacted with him on her first raid - and so going to him for guidance was more than likely out of the question. A pity, but there wasn't much to be done about that.

Lilith returned Faleen's smile with one of her own. "Sounds like you must have been pretty lucky growing up and being able to do things like that," she said earnestly. "I never really was able to get into extracurricular activities or anything, so I guess my skills are somewhat... limited." She shrugged awkwardly. At least, she wasn't very apt at much besides studying and learning about history and behaviors of Legendaries, but, she had to suppose, it was at least something. Putting any skill of hers to use for Team Rocket would be sufficient.

["Aww. That's boring. Makes sense, but it's boring,"] Nerezza huffed, turning back to face the Zoroark. ["So what, you just sit around here most of the time doing nothing while your human does all of the fancy gadgetry?"] The mention of test runs certainly piqued the Gastly's interest, and her brow raised in curiosity. ["Test runs of what, exactly?"]

Eyebrows arched lightly, “Do you really think it was luck?” She asked, with a gentle smile on her face.
She heard the word from time to time.
Lucky.

She didn’t think much of it, she wasn’t too sure she really believed in the word, at least in regards to herself.
No, she wasn’t lucky; she was just a hard worker.
Some have commented 'too hard', but how could she complain? She was where she wanted to be.

Faleen shook her head softly. "I wouldn't go so far as to call it luck."

She nodded her head again, toward one of the robots.

Lilith blinked. Did Faleen... not believe in luck or serendipity? Well, Lilith couldn't exactly blame her. After all, look at what things like fate and luck had done to her life. Living solely on false hopes was a life for a fool - a happy fool, perhaps, but a fool nonetheless. She had told herself that she couldn't depend on such frivolities when she abandoned her faith, but there was still some small part of her that held some truth to luck.

"So, if not luck, then what? Can there not be even a little bit of serendipity?" Lilith smiled to herself for a moment, then glanced over to her Gastly a ways away, wandering and exploring around. She watched Nerezza for a moment or two, then looked back to Faleen. "It might not have been fate or luck or anything that brought me here - I realize that now. But I do think that there was some part of fate in it all. It was my own volition that made me come here, yeah..." She trailed off, looking away for half of a second, then looked back up to Faleen. "Though I wouldn't even have been here in the first place if I didn't feel like there was some fate in it all."

["Eh, yeah, I guess..."] Nerezza made a movement like a shrug. As she continued onward, she caught a glimpse of her human looking at her from her peripheries. It unnerved the Ghost a little, at least until her human stopped staring at her, and the comment from Zoroark brought back her attention immediately. ["You get to blow stuff up?"] She quickly floated back towards the Dark-type, excitement in her eyes. ["...Could I see some stuff blown up?"]

"I'm certainly not trying to dismiss the belief in fate or luck." Faleen tried to clear up, politely. "Or the possibility that it has a hand in where we end up in life. But its not exactly a way I think, or would be at all qualified to make any sort of assumption."

She pulled a hand from behind her back, using it to tuck some loose strands of hair behind her ear, and away from her eyes as she studied Lilith.
"I rely on my hard work, I rely on my tireless work. I cannot wait around and hope opportunity falls onto my lap."
This comment was followed with a soft shake of her head. "My abilities and skills help shape my progress, and I get that through study, experience, and many sleepless nights."

When her hand lowered from her ear, it settled down at her hip, where the Agent offered her fellow Rocket a gentle smile.

I don't get to blow stuff up, but the Rockets that work here sometimes get to.> She let a wide smirk spread across her lips.

Lilith held her arms protectively in front of her chest, and she let her eyes fall downward as she listened quietly to Faleen's stance. What she said made sense for someone like her; she was strong, determined, and left nothing to luck or chance. She was always working to improve herself and to help Team Rocket, and Lilith had to admit that she envied Faleen's tireless spirit. A smaller part of her wondered is that was all that the other Agent was, however. Lilith wasn't very knowledgeable of Faleen as a person, but somehow she doubted that the woman did very much besides work and build and train. Even Lilith knew that, ideally, work and play were supposed to be balanced.

Once Faleen had concluded, Lilith brought her eyes back up to regard her fellow Agent. An awkward smile formed on her lips as Faleen gave her a kind smile. "I suppose that I have to admire you for how hard you work. You're so focused; you're so sure of what you want to accomplish. I guess that just what I need to improve on, too." A soft sigh escaped her and she dropped her arms to her sides. Her entire time at Team Rocket had just been riddled with distraction after distraction, problem after problem - she needed something to really contribute. Perhaps the whole research thing would be just what she needed.

A sudden thought came to Lilith as she wondered to herself. She tilted her head and turned her attention back to Faleen. "Say, Faleen... If you're not too busy right now, would you very much mind having a small training session with me? I, uh..." For a moment or two, she trailed off, but she quickly found her voice again. "I haven't practiced with my Pokemon in a while, and I wouldn't mind some company." A genuine smile graced Lilith's countenance, despite the twinge of hesitation in her verdant eyes.

["Pssh. It's no fun if you can't do it yourself,"] Nerezza said, puffing out her bottom lip in a pout. For half a second there, she was actually looking forward to something. When Zoroark voiced the lack of possible explosions for the day, the Gastly scowled. ["Damn."]

Faleen blinked at Lilith's words, feeling a little honored by her observation.
"It helps to love what you do." she said, with a small smile. "Honestly that makes a world of difference."
She wished the women the best of luck in discovering her place in Team Rocket, and was sure she would be able to assist in a very meaningful way.

At the request to train, Faleen's smile broadened and she nodded .
"I was going to be heading down there before to long, I would enjoy having a training partner." She admitted.
"If you are free now," she gestured lightly "Shall we?"

Faleen took the lead to head up to the training arias, glancing over into the robotics lab as she went. "Zoroark, come along."

Zoroark turned to her master, and a wide dark smirk crossed her long muzzle. [Looks like we'll be making things blow up a different way.] she told the Gastly. pouncing off after Faleen.
