"Just...just to clarify, Roch, having ghoul friends is different from having ghoulfriends." Because in the baku's mind, it sounded more like the former than the latter, "Remi is my boil friend. Mot is my boil friend. Aniki--er, Shun--is my boil friend, but none of these people are my boilfriend."
Just to make that clear.
"A-anyways." An awkward clearing of her throat, and then she pointed at his face, "Why do you look so tired? Haven't been sleeping well?"

He frowned, cocking his head slightly. "So what DO you do with a ghoulfriend?" he finally asked blankly. "Don't you take 'em places, win 'em prizes, make 'em karaoke with you or somethin?" Cuz that's what HE would do with a ghoulfriend.
"Pop said that you shouldn't sleep with them until you've dated steadily for like, half a year, and even then I should wait till I'm older," he added simply. "And if you're jumpin around with ghoul after ghoul then you ain't datin' steady, so that's out."
Yes, he was that innocent. Holy crap. "Besides, there's all that mold and crap," he added with a shrug. "Cricket jackin TERRIFIED me." Sure there were protection charms, but that seemed like a pain in the a** to him, and you would probably STILL have to worry about FEAR levels and--

So he...he really...didn't know the difference between a ghoul friend and a ghoulfriend?
She supposed that it was kind of a thin line, she had to give him that. "It, er...it kind of depends for different people, I guess. I-I mean, the typical stuff is handholding, kissing..." Xiu was fidgeting uncomfortably at this, especially since she knew that Roch did, or would probably do, both of these shamelessly.
"And your. Um. Father. He's...right. About...sleeping. And..." Was it suddenly really warm out here? No, it was still freezing, but Xiu could feel her face heat up.
Uggggh. "T-THE POINT IS that there's a difference! Romantic and platonic!"

Roch frowned. "So you mean stuff like... I dunno, taking them out to dinners, playing my guitar for them, dancing or somethin?" he offered after a moment. "I took Hel out to dinner, played for you, and hell, anyone that wants to listen, and danced with Savior! Course she's better than I am, and hell, I danced with Mot and Charlie, too..."
Romance was a foreign concept to the wild boil.

She...wasn't even sure what to say, especially at Roch's last bit about dancing with Mot and Charlie. The thought almost made her giggle--no, Xiu! Focus!
"Having a ghoulfriend is kind of...an exclusive thing. It's one thing if you...casually flirt with ghouls, but it's another to call someone your ghoulfriend." At least, that's how she saw it, though Xiu was kind of a hopeless romantic. Playfully flirting with ghouls was not the same thing as tacking a ghoulfriend label on multiple ghouls, especially if the ghoulfriends didn't know about each other.
She had read enough romance novels and seen enough movies to know how that usually turned out.

Xiu's head jerked up at the name, even when Roch tried to change the subject. Her eyebrows shot up beneath her bangs, and she stared at the reaper boil. "Yes, it's good you don't agree with cheating," She agreed absently, before her voice became firm, What's this about Lizzy, Roch?"
Why would her friend's name come up in this kind of topic? The baku may have been looking at Roch a little suspiciously.

"Well it don't matter NOW," he said, frowning slightly. "Y'know, since Mot got a clue and him and Hel are a thing--which is jackin' AWKWARD for me, did you know?" he asked her. "How the hell am I supposed to hang out with them when she's always talking about groping her chest?" he added with a scowl.

"I think Mot 'got a clue' when we saw you and Hel off on a date." The baku's voice was dry, giving a rather obvious hint as to what had occurred that day. But being who she was--an easily-concerned ghoul--she tried to steer the conversation back to the spider demoness.
"What happened to Lizzy? Is she okay?" A look of panic flit over the baku's features as she turned to look over her shoulder at the door to the demon dorms.

"Tell me somethin, is she still dating her boilfriend?" he asked curiously, shivering slightly as a cold wind blew past. "Oye, if we're gonna get into this can we at least go inside for it? It's jackin' FREEZING here, and I refuse to wear a coat until I absolutely got to."

"What? I...I think so...why?" Her eyes were wide with curiosity, but when Roch asked to go inside, the ghoul's expression quickly became apologetic. "Of course! I'm sorry!" It was rather chilly out here, now that her blush was gone. She pulled the door open and gestured for Roch to go in.
"Did you want me to make some tea or hot chocolate? I have some cupcakes too."

"Either sounds fine as long as I get some cupcakes too," he said cheerfully. He still liked food, even if he wasn't crushing hard on her anymore! The ghoul could bake!

"Of course!" She laughed, leading him down the hall and towards her room. The door was unlocked with a little click and she walked in, switching on the lights. "I still owe you a birthday present too, so if you want to give me a list of your favourite flavours..."
It actually felt kind of strange talking so freely like this again--and it was nice--but Xiu still hadn't forgotten the topic about her spider demoness friend. Once they were settled, she knew that the conversation would probably take a more serious turn again.
"Take a seat? I'll be with you in a second." Off she went to make some hot chocolate and bring out some cupcakes.

Roch headed for the couch--then stopped. "Actually I should get goin'," he told her, starting for the door again. "It's too late to be in a ghoul's dorm, y'know? And like you said, I ain't been sleeping much lately. Maybe if I head back to my room I'll get some sleep in. I got a play comin' up, I need to be in top form for it!"

"Oh! But..." She wanted to pick up their conversation where they had left it, but Roch did look awfully tired, which was worrying, to say the least. Knitting her brows together, the baku nodded in understanding. "Alright, but...just give me a second, okay?"
She scurried back into the kitchen, and after a few minutes, Xiu returned with a cake box in hand, tied up with a purple ribbon. "At least take some cupcakes with you. And...please get lots of rest! If there's anything I can do..."
