Destiny smiled at Melina and turned towards Eliza. "Sure Eliza. And yeah, you're in one of my classes. Anyway, you see any single guys out there?"

Destiny looked around and saw some guys and girls and she sighed. "But it's hard to tell who's with whom."

Destiny fixed herself up and looked around again. She really didn't like parties all that much let alone dressing up.

When Kaminari approached, Nicohlas' eyes widened. "Nari! Your so Pretty!!" He declared as he looked over her outfit. Her hair was so cute! Though upon seeing the red of her dress he did find himself wishing he had in fact worn red instead of pink now. They would have matched very well and that was important right?

"Oh, we have not been waiting long at all." He was quick to follow with a bright smile. He held the yellow rose up quickly while giving a small giggle. "I got you a flower! It's not nearly as pretty as you are though." He added after a brief glance towards his brother. He caught the slight nod of Nathan's head, approval of his 'charming introduction' His attention was quickly returned to Nari though. "Pictures would be fine Nari. This is my first party! Well, the first one not hosted by my family and all. I would love to see what pictures you take..." He paused afterwords and found himself looking into the hall. "Santa?" A childish part of him felt like squealing. Though he knew that it wasn't a real Santa, or that there was any sort of Santa. Yet...he couldn't help but find something appealing about the whole thing. He moved his chair forwards to the room, hesitating only to look back and make certain he received the nod of approval from his brother before continuing on. "I would really like that, so long as you get your picture taken with me with Santa too." He said excitedly.

Naois found himself blinking when Indigo came up to him and gave him a hug. She looked so cute in her holiday dress. He had known what she planned on wearing, because they had discussed what colors went well together in a complimenting manner. Yet actually seeing her dressed up, with her hair styled and wearing make up seemed to make whatever he had imagined pale a bit. Naois' lips curled upwards into a small smile while he returned the hug. "I have been ready since yesterday." He replied and shifted a bit to offer Indigo his arm. They were here together after all, and he didn't want anyone to stop them on the way in. Chuckling softly he glanced towards the ball. "So I hear there is a Santa here. Wanna get your picture taken with me? As a souvenir?"

Nerissa leaned back against the wall and picked at her gown. The feathers on her belt were tickling her arm whenever she let her arms hang at her side. Maybe if she moved her belt a little to the front of her dress.... Her head lifted when she heard her name called though. Ah! "Puck!" She called out with small laugh. Lifting the hem of her dress, she approached Jeremiah and Marlon. "I see your as dapper as usual. Is this your date?" She asked while looking at the dressed up boy with the flower corsage. "Heh. Nice hat. Very classy." She lightly joked.

Nerissa lifted her hand and held it out towards Marlon with a smile. "In case you didn't hear, my names Nerissa." She introduced herself, then looked at Miah. "You have a cute date Miah, care to share?" Of course she wasn't serious, it was just a joke of a question.

Percival lifted his head when a girl (Mia) rather boldly walked over and actually asked a group of guys to take her inside. Percy stepped towards her and held his hand out towards her. "My name is Percival. You look like your dress would match with my outfit, and it would be a shame for a girl as decked up as you to be kept waiting." He cheerfully offered.

When Nari approached where he and Nicohlas waited, his eyes drifted downwards over her dress. His lips curled just a little bit into a smile. "You look lovely tonight Nari." He murmured softly in greeting. He was still quiet preoccupied with Helena meeting him here with Nari. He couldn't be as attentive to Nari without ignoring Helena. That simply was out of the question. His head gave just a small nod when Nari would make her unspoken promise to him. "I...trust you two shall have fun." He replied softly. Going to see Santa was childish, though Nicohlas was still a child wasn't he? Nathan inhaled deeply and kept his eyes upon his brother as he vanished into the ball room. It almost hurt him to let him wander off into that crowd. He wanted to rush after him the moment he was out of sight. Such was his focus, he missed the elegant approach of Helena until she was nearly at his side. The flash of blond and blue was seen in the corner of his eye. Turning his gaze, he blinked his silver eyes for a moment. "Helena?" He hesitantly questioned. With her hair up and the glasses missing he was not certain if he dared believe this was her. Then again, she was a blue blood wasn't she? It was just rather hidden under her rather casual nature.

Jayke's customary public scowl was replaced with a grin as he spotted Crysta breathlessly making her way towards him. At first he had had a fleeting moment where he had thought she would show up in regular party clothes and leave him in his unorthodox, ritualistic garb, just as a laugh. Of course he knew that his friend wasn't so mean, but he couldn't help those thoughts sometimes. After all, not much in his life that had been good had lasted all that long.
He was pleased at how well they matched; they would sure stand apart from all of the other couples! He absorbed her enthusiastic hug, trying not to let the joyful momentum knock him over. "They might have gingerbread; want to go in and find out?" He smiled at his friend's enthusiasm, while at the same time taking time to ponder just what sort of wonder might be found in front of them. He had seen many forms of celebrations when he was growing up, but he was certain that such things would not be found where they were going. The villages and cultures he had known liked to celebrate with all manner of wild abandon, reveling in the simple joy of being. Here, all of the joy seemed to have been gathered into the decorations, twinkling and sparkling and even moving slightly as though containing laughter. But all around were people whose joy seemed muted, contained, much like the boxes they loved to shut themselves into. But he should be thinking of lighter things in the presence of his friend. His smile still intact, Jayke offered his arm to Crysta as together they entered the fray of people to mingle.

He hadn't realized that he'd need a date to get in, until he got there that was, and was currently on the lookout for anyone who might need an escort. He only wished he had a sign or something, so that people didn't think that he was waiting for someone else.

He grinned to himself, watching the crowd. Some of them were familiar, students from his school, a few that he was fairly certain he had seen in the graveyard, and the rest, well, he didn't know them, but they looked pretty cool. Even if he didn't get to go inside, it didn't seem like this would be a bad evening at all. People watching was always fun.

The blond haired boy couldn't help but blush. "You think so?" He tugged at the green shirt. "I was hoping it wasn't too out there, but there are plenty of people who dressed up nice too." He smiled warmly onto Jin, looking at his arm curiously. "Oh!" He looped around Jin's slowly, his bright face turning into an embarrassed smile. "Let's." He stepped forward to the entrance of the dance. Hopefully, he thought, he wouldn't be an awkward mess on the dance floor, or just in general.

Mai could see just about eye level with this new face in heels. "Why thank you Percival!" She took his hand and with a swift motion, she curtsied as gracefully as she could. "I was on the fence about coming up to everyone here, but it all worked out." She smirked, "I'm Eyota." She paused, letting herself give a smug wink to her new date. "But you should call me Mai." He breathed out a bubbly laugh before continuing on. "Let's go inside and show off how well we match without even knowing." She eagerly offered to lead the way into the warm glow of the dance.

'Stately' would have described her well - although it would have been more impressive if Maunet looked that way intentionally. Unfortunately, the girl had little to no eye for fashion, much less had any concept of the way she looked - dressing to moods or for convenience in lieu of any sense of color, matching or situational awareness. That was why, to her blissful ignorance, her everyday clothes came off as mismatched or cutely kitsch instead of chic. But Mau was unaware of this, and perhaps she couldn't have cared less. It was because of this set of convenient circumstances that the girl sashayed up to the theatre looking 'stately' enough to kill.

The fabric of her skirt - embalming shrouds put to much better use - clung to her thighs, billowing around her as if of their own accord only when they could find no other skin to grab onto. The same material acted as her corset and behaved no better, outlining a toned torso in a brash, inky blackness. But the fabric was much less imposing next to the gold that bound it together, jangling softly as she walked, clinking gently at her chest, scarcely hiding exposed hips. The trinkets were old family affairs mixed with newer finds, twisted together painstakingly. It would never do, Mau figured, to have her outfit fall apart on her in mid-step. So were the fabric was bound, it was bound well, and hid everything it was supposed to...but practicality didn't take into account the effect of exposed skin. Maybe if Maunet was more fashionably inclined, there would be less of it.

For the moment, though, her outfit was the last thing on her mind. The mummy frowned as she fussed with an armband, stroking the head of a snake whose sightless eyes glittered on her shoulder. Dating to get in? Well, that ruined the night right there. She didn't know anyone, had hardly even seen anyone else since that night in the graveyard - and Mau doubted anyone had made friends there. There was already a crowd of well-dressed students milling around in front of the door, held at bay by a firm-looking bouncer. Were all of them without dates as well?

"What a party," she quipped, voice emerging husky through kohl-darkened lips. One hand settled on a jeweled hip, making golden ornaments jangle softly in protest. Her wry smile lifted in Jeremiah and Nerissa's direction, having caught the latter's comment purely by accident. "We might all have to share dates, by the looks of this."

"Aw, why thank you Nicohlas. You look completely dashing. Princely almost." She grinned. When Nathan commented on her dress, she blushed a little. "Thank you Nathan." Seizing the chance, Nari lifted her camera and snapped a quick picture of Nathan to 'remember the evening by' before she excused herself. Maybe later she could find Nathan and his date and get a picture of them together.

She then took the rose Nico offered, and was glad to hear that they hadn't been waiting long. What a relief! "I was afraid I'd be late. I was kind of a dunderhead when I left." She laughed as they vanished into the crowd. When Nico said they should have their picture taken together, Nari nodded. "Well of course I'd take the pictures with you. You don't get to have all the fun tonight. Besides, we're a couple tonight, so we have to have tons of pictures. Speaking of! Hold up one second." She'd wait till Nico would stop, then she'd squat beside his wheelchair and lean in, her cheek squished against his and held the camera up. "Say Holly Berry!" And she snapped a few pictures before they'd head towards the room where a line for Santa was forming.

Naois didn't have to ask her twice. "That'd be great!" She took his arm delicately, like a lady should, as they made their way inside. Of course she was grinning like a loon the whole time. She was on a date. A date with Naois. So why shouldn't she grin? "Hey, looks like they have a whole slew of food and treats too. Isn't it great that you don't have to cook tonight?" she teased. Though one of these days she needed to get Naois to have dinner at her place. ... Later, brain. Later. First thing's first. "You wanna dance after we get some pics? Maybe work up an appetite?"

Jinju shook his head as Evan stopped fussing with his shirt and finally took his arm. "You should relax a little. This is a party after all." They headed inside. Oh, everything looked so... over the top to Jin. The decorations were alright... in small doses. He'd seen lots of similar things around the city lately. But having them all crammed into one place like this was sort of eye-churning. But, that's what this holiday was. Over the top cheerful.

"So what would you like first? Pictures taken? Maybe some food? Dancing?"

Helena saw the look of surprise on Nathan's face, she didn't realize just how pretty she was but instead of thinking that that was what had surprised him, she thought instead that it was something else... "Oh no.... am I overdressed?!" She couldn't stop herself from giving a quick look about the room... Seeing that the others were dressed just as fine as herself, some a bit more, some a bit less... That didn't seem to be the problem. Then she looked back to Nathan and realized that he was dressed in a way that he normally was.... maybe she should have gone a bit more casual! A blush lit her freckled cheeks prettily, "Maybe we should have talked about what we were wearing? But I had wanted to surprise you..." She murmured as she'd dip a hand into her purse, pulling out a pale blue rose bootineer, a whirl of pearls swooping about the single flower backed with deep green fronds of leaves and a small spray of baby's breath. "I... um...ah... got this for you...." It would look nice on him, even if he wasn't as dressed up as she was, he was still dressed nicely... plus, it matched her perfectly... Oh she felt a little foolish now for going through so much trouble... but she'd just wanted to look her best for him.

Crysta happily embraced Jayke in her hug for a few moments. She was just so happy to have been able to make it, on top of that she was grateful that they were matching right now. "Yeah! I'm starving." She said as she released her friend and reached to grab Jayke by the hand. Crysta let her eyes sweep around the room as she started walking in a purposeful stride. "Wow, look at all the pretty dresses! I'm glad we wore matching outfits though. If they have a outfit contest we'd totally win!" She happily chatted to Jayke before turning to grin at him. " We're going to dance right? Cause it's a Dance and I really wanna. I promise not to dance anything that would be hard to match. Aw look! Mistletoe!" Crysta's hand lifted and jabbed upwards to a hanging ball of dark green leaves with white berries.

Well now! Percival found himself grinning a little more when Eyota would actually curtsied to him. "Well I'm glad you got off the fence and wandered on over." He said with a small chuckle. "Otherwise I'd be standing out here waiting for someone else to get into the ball with." His head nodded a bit as he walked along with Mai towards the main door. "Mai huh? Why do they call you that? It doesn't seem to have anything to do with your real name." It was a curious thing to him and Percival really wasn't one to bite his tongue. "I do have to admit I'm rather pleased we match so well. Maybe we can confuse your friends into wondering where you have been hiding me eh?"

"Holly Berry!" Nicohlas was more then happy to squish his cheek against Nari's so she could snap the picture of them together. "So you'll be sure to give me copies right?" He asked with a bright smile. Nicohlas's eyes started to wander a bit about the room, and his hand lifted to point at some random people. "There are so many nice outfits. Nari will you get some pictures of the people in some of the neat outfits? Do you think I could sew little doll outfits to match some of them? I'll make one for you!" He promised with a eager smile.

Naois couldn't help himself. He looked eagerly towards the food that Indigo mentioned. "You think they have mushrooms?" He had to tease her as he walked along beside her. The question about dancing caused him to tilt his head towards the floor. "You know what, that sounds like a fantastic idea. I would love to dance with you a bit." He agreed before pulling Indigo over to where the line started for pictures with 'Santa'. "Just to be clear though, I'm not sitting in his lap."He said with a small laugh.

It took Nathan a few moments to try and recover from his surprise. As Helena glanced around at the other girls, Nathan ran a hand through his hair and refocused himself on her. Well, whatever happened, it would occur no matter how he tried to control the situation. "No no Helena." He softly murmured. "I was just surprised to see you without your glasses to tell the truth. I never realized how stunning your eyes were." He rather hoped the compliment would have her blushing enough to fall under his charming spell quickly. "I am very surprised though, and it is a very pleasant surprise. It is fine that you did not tell me. I think you look as delightful as the first snow on a rose garden." He paused then and looked at the bootineer that she would present him. Carefully Nathan took the flower and affixed it into his lapel "There we go, now we match. I think this all worked out very well." He murmured before offering Helena his arm. "Shall I escort you inside my lady?"

In her eagerness to point out the mistletoe, Crysta lead Jayke right under the festive decoration.

Judging by the look of the chaperones, they saw you, and they obviously enforce the rules. Better pucker up!

User ImageRachel shifted awkwardly, sticking close to the walls. She eyed the various people in the room. Most of them had dates, where as she was by her lonesome. This was both a blessing and a curse in her mind. She had never been to a function like this before. Heck, this was probably the most dolled up she had ever been in her life.. Make-up, hair extentions, AND in a dress. She was totally out of her element. ...Didn't help she knew absolutely no one.

She was jerked from her thoughts as is stepped on the very edge of her dress. She staggered forward, bumping into someone. "Er... Sorry about that.... I tripped.." She blinked at the body she had just collided with. A young boy with Blueish Black hair.

This was frustrating, and wouldn't do at all! Here she was, dressed in her best, of course she was always dressed in her best, and her goodies were delicious and perfect, and this brute at the door wasn't letting her in! Aphrodite stamped her foot. Stupid mortals and their rules. Somehow, she just had to get in. There was potential in there, she could feel it. Tonight would be super entertaining!

...If she could get inside.

Angelo didn't really know why he had come. Events like this were a bother, and he had no one to go with. ... Well, he supposed he could have asked one of the cute girls from Ember Ridge to join him. Heck, he could have asked his roommate, though the guy was a killjoy. Instead, he found himself outside the theater, looking at the brightly lit exterior, thinking about why he hadn't asked anyone to go, and why he had come here regardless, knowing he needed a date.

"Maybe I'll just go back..." Of course going back would probably lead to a fight between he and his roommate. They never quite seemed to see eye to eye on anything, and ended up arguing over the smallest things. With a roll of his eyes, Angelo turned to leave when a flurry of pink caught his attention. A woman was staring at him. More like looking him over. It was a little unsettling. His eyes narrowed a little. "Can I help you?"

Aphrodite had seen the kid about to leave. She decided to check him out and now was blatantly looking him up and down like a piece of meat. He had potential. Yeah. Kinda scrawny, and she was sure she could do better, but the real pick of the litter were all inside. "Hmmm... You'll do." She said after a while.

"Excuse me?" Who was this woman? And why was she checking him out?

"Don't be so dull, kid. We're going to the dance. You have potential too." Come to think of it... Sure, why not. Aphrodite began searching the folds of her clothes. Damn damn damn, she didn't have a lot of extras today... She really should have stocked up. "Hey, that thing in your pocket. Let me see it." Angelo's visible eye widened in surprise. How did she even know he had something? "Come on, we don't have all day. I'm not going to break it, just let me see it."

Something was up, he was sure, but at the same time, Angelo was compelled. Few people knew he kept his grandfather's compass with him. It was his good luck charm of sorts. Slowly he fished it out of his pocket and held copper piece out to the woman.

This was perfect. Aphrodite took the compass before Angelo could say anything. Ah, it did seem valuable to him. Good. That means he'd likely take very good care of it. She toyed with the trinket for a moment before handing it back. "That should do it."

"What did you do?" He could tell she'd done something. But just what...?

"Oh you know. A little of this, a little of that. Magic, protect the innocent, blah blah blah. Look, when the time is right you'll find out, ok? Now get over here so we can get into that dance." Angelo didn't really have the option of saying no as Aphrodite took him by the wrist and drug him to the front door and into the dance.

Well Helena had planned on putting the bootineer on for him... but Nathan managed just fine. Perhaps it had been a bit presumptuous to think that this would be a romantic evening? She did blush more fiercely with the compliment but there was something else that was bothering her too, she had been waiting for another symbolic moment, when he presented her with a corsage. Yet he seemed to not think of it... perhaps she had misread his advances earlier? Oh she felt so foolish she could just die! Her eyes flicked up to him when he'd say his sweet words and speak of her in such a fashion of romance inflected in his tone... Maybe he was just being nice? Humoring her? She didn't know anymore but she couldn't help but feel a fluttering of her heart with his praises of her loveliness, "Thank you, Nathan..." she'd murmur softly... That shy streak in her taking over as she'd rest her hand lightly on his arm, turning to walk into the ballroom with him... Her eyes sweeping over the crowd, feeling her heart working it's way up into her throat... "I feel so... out of place here... I don't know anyone..." she'd whisper to him.... nibbling on her bottom lip before she'd catch herself and look up to him with wide blue eyes... "maybe... you can introduce me to some of your friends? Or... we could go find Nico... to see how he's doing on his first date... he seemed so excited about it.... unless of course you think we'd be intruding..." She thought to add quickly... stumbling over her words a bit in her flustered moment.

If he had been paying a bit more attention to the area nearest him, he might have been able to avoid Rachael bumping into him. "It's alright," he said, reassuringly. "Are you okay?"

It was strange that such a pretty girl seemed to be here on her own, though it was possible that she was merely waiting for them to show. "Um, don't think me forward or anything, but I was wondering, are you waiting for someone?"

If she was, that was great, he was sure whoever it was was a very lucky person, and if not, well, maybe she'd be willing to let him escort her for the evening.

"Yeah, me too." Jayke had been so determined to show up for Crysta at the dance that he had passed up Lillian's offer to make him a quick grab-and-go dinner before coming. Most people would find his foster mother's cooking less than palatable, but aside from the continuous vegan influence, he liked it more than most of his other mothers' previous offerings. He figured they would probably have some snack food available, and some punch which despite the watchful eyes of the chaperons would most likely have a few inappropriate ingredients added to it before the night was out.
He chuckled nervously at Crysta's enthusiasm. "Well.....I'll try my best, but I should warn you that I'm not very good at actual dances." He knew plenty of ritual tribal dances, which would make him stick out like a freshly hammered thumb in this atmosphere, but then again, his friend might have the same idea when it came to dancing. They certainly had the same tastes in party clothes, didn't they?
He suddenly looked up and noticed that both he and Crysta were standing directly under the mistletoe. Not only that, but he saw the two hulking chaperons out of the corner of his eye looking at them as though they would squash the pair of them if they didn't adhere to the tradition. Well! So much for his first kiss being of his own choosing! He cleared his throat nervously and whispered to Crysta. "I think the two boulders over there want us to.....you know." He nodded up at the dangling plant before awkwardly leaning in, lips slightly puckered and feeling like he was imitating a fish.
