Picking up the phone, the doctor smiled graciously, "Oh, let me do that for you Jerry. Can't have you straining your eyes, now can we?" He began texting, slowly talking as he typed, "Candace....please.....bring....spare....glasses....to infirmary...." he paused, and then added considerately, "...nothing....serious. That sound alright to you, Jerry?"

From Jerry's Cell

Candace, meet me in the infirmary. I'm ready to play doctor.

Jerry looked relieved, "Ah... thank you, Doctor! I don't want her to worry," He sighed, a hand blindly going up to trace the curling line of burn scar across his cheek, "I think I've done that to her enough."

"Oh not at all, Jerry. Besides, I'm sure her mere presence will no doubt hasten your recovery, hm?" The text, once sent, was promptly deleted, and the doctor carefully set the phone back down on the table.

"She's a very good motivator, I must say! Ahahaha" He beamed a little, proudly, "I know... there's been a lot of talk about her. What with... her um. Scythe issue. But I think she's worked past it, and she really is sweeter than people know. I'm very lucky to have her, I think," He twisted his hands over his bandages nervously, blushing a bit, "I've never... you know... had an... an actual girlfriend before. Er. Someone I could call that and not be lying anyway." He added in a sad attempt to not seem as pathetic, despite being almost cross-eyed without his glasses and staring at that point just to Dr. H's right once again. "I suppose being in this situation- being a Hunter, I mean- really brings people together."

"Oh yes, she really is...quite the sweet motivator," the doctor murmured lightly. "Hmm, there is something to be said about proximity and near death experiences when it comes to romance. For what it's worth, she does seem fairly dedicated to you in her ah...way. You're the envy of many the young hunter, you know."

Jerry blushed even harder, glancing away to instead stare at his white sheets, hands fidgeting before raking his fingers through the hair on the back of his head nervously, "I... I d-don't doubt that, ahahaha. She's... she's very pretty. And spirited. Honestly, I don't know what she sees in a... a twit like me, as Roar would put it, ahahahaha... But... I mean, I'm just going to have to trust her." He glanced about conspiratorially for a moment before smiling again, before giving a wink to the lamp he thought was H, "I think she has a bit of a... teacher fetish. Heehee. I'm not complaining. Nor clarifying my inexperience *there* much more than I have already."

The doctor chuckled along with him, "Well, can't fault a girl who values education, now can we?" His smile turned downright wolfish as he filed that little tidbit away for later, "But Candace hardly strikes me a stupid, or lacking taste, so I'm sure your trust in her is well-placed, indeed."

The trainee smiled softly and thoughtfully. It did make him feel better, hearing it from a practical person. "No, not stupid at all. Which is what I like about her. Thank you, Doc. I do feel better." He hesitated, "Er. Emotionally. Physically I still feel a bit like I was put through a blender, ahahahaa."

"Ah...well, then, I had best be on my way. I've got words to conquer and minions to terrorize, after all." He got up and gave Jerry a pat on the shoulder. "Try not to end up here too often, Jerry. You never know whose tender mercies you may find yourself at." The doctor walked to the doorway and looked down the hall with a terrible smile. "Though it appears an angel approaches even as we speak..."

Candace actually was looking for Jerry, oddly enough. She wanted to ask him a few questions about Christmas presents to finally decide on what to get him from her long, long list of ideas. It was very important, you know. But he wasn't in his room. Nor was he with Harrison, and Harrison had no idea where he was. He wasn't with Jordan. He wasn't in the cafeteria. He wasn't in her room, either. Where the hell was he?! He wasn't answering her texts! What the hel--oh! A text? Maybe that was him! The phone was quickly grabbed from her pocket and the text was read.

Wait.

She read it a second time, and then a third. I'm ready to play doctor. That was not how Jerry spoke to her. Not even close. Her eyes narrowed. No...no way. He couldn't have. This text had not been written by Jerry, but someone had Jerry's phone. It took her a second to realize where he was asking her to meet him, however.

"The infirmary?!" Candace gasped, turning on her heel to practically run to the infirmary in question. Jerry! Please be okay! Please oh please! He couldn't even write his own texts?! Why?! Was this why he hadn't been answering her oh god! She ignored the stares as she ran until she ran right into H, squeaking and clinging to the man so she wouldn't fall over. Her eyes widened as she looked up at him and blushed. "Ah ha...hello, doctor. Have you seen--Jerry!" She had looked to the open doorway beside the man to find Jerry lying in the bed, her hands flying up to cover her mouth at the sight of him. What happened?! Oh god! He would have told her if he'd gone on another mission, right?! This couldn't be from a mission! She hesitated, wide eyes darting between the two men. H had been in there? For how long? She narrowed her eyes at him a moment. "Nice text, by the way. Very subtle." For some reason she did not like having them in the same room together. Wait, not 'some reason'. She knew exactly why she didn't want them in a room together. And yet here they were. But...but Jerry. Candace took a subtle moment to adjust the scarf around her neck so it was a bit more..covering out of pure self consciousness, pointedly not looking at H as she did so. She then walked more calmly into the room than she had arrived, though there was an obvious quickness in her step as she hurried to his side. She leaned down to cup his cheek, pursing her lips and leaning down to lay a sweet kiss against his temple. "Oh god baby what are you doing in here what happened?" She paused. "...Who did this to you?" She'd kill them. But she couldn't let her anger flare more than that quick burst before she whined and kissed his cheek, trying to stay gentle.

"Candace!" Jerry, glasses-less, was oblivious to the blurred movements by the door, "Dr. H was er... kind enough to help me out with the texting. Seems my glasses got lost on the way here," He chuckled in embarrassment, "Hopefully I don't look as bad as it feels?"

Scoring pity points, huh? Roar, meanwhile, could see the flush on her face and the look she had given H on her way in, but he said nothing. It was a lot more fun that way. Jerry ignored him, as usual, at any rate.

"Did you bring any spares?"

The doctor remained in the doorway, enjoying the reunion, at Jerry's question he cleared his throat, "Ah, Candace...you appear to have dropped something on the floor in your distress." He held up the pilfered pair of glasses and waggled them at her.

"Mm, yes. I figured it wasn't you when I got it. You know I don't 'play doctor', honey." Candace chuckled and shook her head, not realizing that was not the text H had claimed he sent. Frankly she didn't care. "And you should be well aware by now that you could get a paper cut and I'd worry. Are you okay? Please tell me who did this to you. Pretty please?" Her tone, while sweet and caring, still did not hide the anger that flared up again at the thought of someone doing this to her Jerrbear.

When he asked for spares she looked confused, standing up and looking toward the door when she heard someone clear their throat. "...Oh! Oh yes!" Candace laughed, walking back to the doctor with a raised brow and a curious look now that Jerry couldn't see her face. "Aren't you just an angel." She said quietly, plucking the glasses from his hands and smiling up at him. "Thank you for tending to Jerry. If I need you I'll give you a call, hm?" Candace stepped away again to walk back to Jerry's side, sitting in the chair beside his bed after putting his glasses on herself lest he somehow hurt himself doing that.

"How's that? Better?"
PostPosted: Sat Dec 10, 2011 12:34 am

"You do that, sweet Candy," the doctor murmured before calling out, "Best of luck, Jerry! Try not to get too strenuous, hm?" And then he was gone, whistling a jaunty little tune as he walked through the infirmary.

"It was just an accident, Candace, don't worry, no one's out to get me, hahaha," Jerry assured her, "A little too much sugar before a spar- AH! There you are!" He blinked as his eyes focused, looking a little confused about the miscommunication, but no matter. "It ah... pays to know how much damage we really can potentially deal to each other, I was just telling the Doc. I'm glad you brought them, though! My hero." To that, he grinned, reaching out to brush the back of his knuckles against her cheek and chin. "Just a few new scars is all."

He liked Reine, he knew it hadn't been on purpose. No reason to go sicking Candace on her if he could help it.
