Arusi was not afraid. She was no coward, she wouldn't let anyone think different! So when Kerer had instantly told her to come back to his side she pulled a face. The words were quickly followed by the suggestion of better vision though, and the face dissolved. She probably could see the creature better!

She swallowed and nodded, but it still took her several turns of looking around and privately thinking that everything was fine and the crocodile was just back in the water. She moved for Kerer slowly, though she imagined herself to be walking in a very care free manner. Not at all in a manner that suggested she was terrified!

"Iss yer fault that he's suddenly missin' anyways!" She spat when she was finally beside him. Arusi was quick to assign blame and grow angry at others, but just as quick those feelings usually fled. So when she suddenly gave a wicked grin it wasn't much of a surprise. "Didja see how close I got Ker?" Maybe not as close as they'd suggested, but that wasn't her fault! She totally would have bopped that croc right on the head if he suddenly hadn't disappeared. Probably under the water.

If Kerer had any thoughts that Arusi was some kind of coward, or afraid, they were so deeply buried that he couldn't have found them without major excavations. That was a large part of why he enjoyed spending time with her. She wasn't afraid of things, and didn't seem to mind that he was usually covered with mud.

Of course, she tended to be entirely too energetic during the day, but he could understand that, since they both had to keep to fairly diurnal schedules to please their parents and instructors. Someday that wouldn't be the case though, and at that point Kerer planned to go completely nocturnal. It was cooler at night - much cooler - and Kerer didn't suffer nearly as much as he did under the unrelenting desert sun.

"If you say so," Kerer said, rolling his eyes. "Probably we scared it off."

It wasn't entirely clear if he was being serious or teasing when he suggested that they had scared it away. He was just kind of glad it was gone. After all. He and Arusi were brave, but that didn't make them stupid. There were plenty of brave and stupid cubs around the pride who might make tasty morsels for that crocodile.

"You got really close," he confirmed. "And we probably should tell someone. A grown-up. Not about how close we got. Just that there's a crocodile. In case, you know? It could save someone's life."

Privately, he hoped Arusi would volunteer, because he knew she moved faster than he did in the sun. But in case she didn't...

"Why don't you do that, while I stay here to see if it resurfaces?"

She nodded in agreement as Kerer said that they'd probably scared it off, full-heartedly agreeing with the dark coated male. Definitely that was what happened, for sure. Her tail gave a little flick as she thought about it, still nodding.

Her gaze snapped to his as he stated that they should probably tell someone, an adult someone. She wrinkled her nose and already she could feel her mouth starting to get dry. "Me? I have to?" That came out dangerously close to a whine, and Arusi wanted to kick herself.

But telling an adult probably meant getting in trouble... unless maybe it was one of her own parents? Her dad! Yes, he wouldn't get as mad. She cleared her throat. "Fine." She mumbled, eying the water one more time. She had no doubt that Kerer would be fine; he was bigger than her, stronger than her... even if he was much slower than her.

"Fine, I'll go." She said again, giving him a look the seemed annoyed. Mostly it was because she did not want to get in any sort of trouble. She turned and sighed, moving off in a fast trot before breaking into a full on run, there was no use making Ker wait their longer than he had to.
