"Thank you, ma'am." She had to suppress a giggle at the way Clarice was treating Robert- that was more than just mildly amusing, to say the least. Additionally, it made her feel just that little bit more superior, because she was being entrusted with all the things.
Following Robert, she stepped through the portal-- ah. She hadn't quite expected the nostalgia to hit quite so hard; just a year ago, her mother had saved up enough to take her here on a holiday. Not that much had changed- enough for her to pick out the hotel they'd stayed at, for one.
No time for sentimentalities, though, when you had a monkey to chase; running after Robert, Reine grabbed the back of his jacket mid-spin, a huge frown on her face. "We're on a mission, Bobby, not here to play."
Ooooh. Wet blanket.

"OHHH ******** DON'T YOU DO THAT TO ME KITTEN!" Robert whined, turning around and picking her up by the waist, to hold her at his side and cart her off. "I know you've been in and out of this place more than Candace has been in and out of the whorehouse, but I never got to go. I never left that goddamn little hole in the wall town until I went to college, and I dreamt of coming here every goddamn time you left. So I AM GOING TO ENJOY MYSELF FOR A LITTLE WHILE!"
He let out the loudest, most obnoxious, most jovial laugh that his body had ever mustered, as her carted her off to the strip.

"I-- YOU HAVE--- I THOUGHT WE WERE OVER THIS put me down Robert." She was well aware that his yelling- and okay, hers- was starting to attract a bit of attention, which was definitely not what they wanted. Fortunately Las Vegas seemed to have a bit more tolerance for weirdness, considering how they were dressed, but Reine wasn't about to push those limits.
"I've been here only the once, and I know how you feel, Bobby, but let me down or so help me I will punch-- um."
No punching, Jordan's voice warned.
"I will kick you where it hurts."
Yeah.. like that was any better. Technicalities, right?
"We need to figure out where the pick-up place is, and NO, picking me up doesn't count, I just need to make sure we know how to get there and how long it's going to take, before you go playtiemz, okay?"

Robert put her down with a groan, patting her on the head and continuing to drag her by the arm instead. "Fine, fine." He grumbled, slowing down his pace just enough to give her the chance to look up any information she had been given. "So we'll figure out the deets, then we go. What you got so far?"
Bright.. flashing.. lights.. attention.. span.. wavering.. BUT NO, he had to pay attention, this was their job, and that was a peep show over there oooh..

"Yeah, just.. gimme a sec." Reine sprinted over and grabbed a map from a nearby sign. Didn't people say girls couldn't read maps?
Well, this girl could. Wait. Was it this way, or.. that... oh, no, upside-down. Pulling out the card, Reine squinted at it, reading the address. "Doesn't look like it's that far away, just.. a left turn here, walk straight... and turn.. left again, past that tall building there... and I think that's about it."
She made sure Robert could see the path she'd traced out, then folded the map back.
"Just to be safe we're going to leave in an hour, okay, which means..." Reine grinned up at him, then tilted her head in the direction of the shiny, shiny lights.

"IT MEANS PLAY TIME." Robert whooped, his legs bending as he side-flipped, landing shakily back on his feet, and started dragging her off full speed again.
"What's it like in there, kitten?" Robert asked, quickly becoming out of breath. "Like, I can't wait. Are there showgirls? Oh, God, kitten, I wish we had time to see a show."
He slowed down, his eyes glazing over in euphoria. "I bet the shows here are just.." Robert let out a long, sad sigh.

If Otto was like a puppy, Robert was probably a full-grown sled dog, the way he was dragging her everywhere. It was almost hilarious to see how excited he was, and then--
*SMACK*
"Petra," she reminded him sternly. "No showgirls." But even then the frown on her face was threatening to give way to laughter, and after a moment of trying to glare at him she gave up.
"It's like~ kind of tacky, sorta, lots of themed stuff in hotels and all? And the casinos, that you don't want to go into because you mostly just lose money, and then the amusement parks.."
At Robert's reactions, she couldn't help but smile and tiptoe to pat his head.
"They're pretty darned amazing," she said. "Someday we'll watch one, okay?" It was kind of strange, how he seemed so outspoken about his love for dance and music, and yet refused to sing in Jerry's choir.. but she couldn't fault him for that, she supposed.

Robert stopped cold when he felt the smack on his arm, and gave Reine a sour face while rubbing the spot she'd hit. It didn't hurt, but it was the thought that counted.
"Heeey," He whined. "I'm pretty sure you're allowed to look at showgirls if you're married. Christ! I ain't saying I'm gonna bang one of 'em!" Oh God, banging a showgirl must be- NO, that was definitely not okay. Robert let out a snicker at the errant thought, and stuck his tongue out at the girl at his side. "Oh, good, tacky. I like tacky. That's why I like you so much. MORE TACKY PLEASE. TACK IT ON."
What. Was. Going. On.
There was only one other person who'd seen Robert when he was this comfortable around his best friend. And that was her sister. He was perfectly fine keeping this side of him a secret to everyone but the two girls - but here, alone, in Vegas (how could you be alone in Vegas?!) there was freedom to be whoever he wanted.
So he was.
"Yeah. Someday." He murmured wistfully, turning the corner away from the main lighted area and turning his back on the strip to follow the directions.

"You better not," Reine huffed. "I got my eyes on you." She was watching him like a hawk, both for Clarice and Petra; such a heavy responsibility. It was almost like old times, if not for that; she used to be content following him around, listening to him spin tales.
He'd always been better at that.
And clearly, he'd also always been this childish.
"I heard you like tacks, Robert Morris, so I stuck a tack in your tack so you could tack while you tacked. Or I will if you don't be quiet." In all honesty, it was good to see him like this again- prancing around like a little girl in the doll section of a toy store. Literally. It beat him carrying her around over his shoulder.
"So, what d'you want to see?" She caught the wistful edge to his voice as he turned away, and her heart hurt just a little for him. There would be that someday, for sure, somehow; for now, she reached for his hand and dragged him forcefully towards where christmas decorations had been set up.
"C'mon, there's still time."

Robert groaned loudly at the tack abuse, pushing Reine away with a hand to her head. "I wanna see everything, but with a half an hour, I think the only thing I've got a chance at seeing is the inside of a casino. So can we do that? Maybe.."
There was one with a sign that blinked a giant, kicking showgirl. Promising.
"Let's try that one!"

"Mmmmfff!" Reine scowled, rubbing her head where Robert had shoved her away. "Be nicer to a girl, geez!"
He was right- they wouldn't be able to do much in that limited amount of time, but a casino- really?
"Wait, Bobby- you don't even have any money to spend, do you?" Reine had left all her valuables- except her cellphone, of course, in her room, which meant she was completely penniless. Then again, if he just wanted to see everything, that'd be fine... hopefully.
She had to wonder if he was even listening, considering his excitement and apparently, an obsession for showgirls

Robert stopped, making a sour face, and shrugged. "Well, I mean, I don't know. Maybe I just wanna look inside." He didn't. "Besides, at least I can say I've been to a casino in Vegas.. even if I didn't play any games there.
His mood had soured just a little, but that excitement was still palpable. "Come on kitten, humor me for a second." One side of his lips turned up in that old smirk as he turned to look at her, and his head shook in the direction of the casino.
"Least you know we won't lose track of time, if I ain't busy wasting money. Right?"

Arguably, looking at roulette tables and slot machines was better than looking at showgirls, at least in Reine's book. On the bright side, though, was that casinos would keep his mind off dancing and music and shows. She eyed him suspiciously for a while, then relented, tugging at his jacket as she walked ahead of him.
"We're not just going into any stupid old casino, Bobby. If you're going to say you've been to a casino in Vegas, you might as well say you've been to the best."
Grinning at him, she practically dragged him towards the Strip. They could, technically, just duck in and out of each one- that would count, wouldn't it? Her free hand dug around in her pocket and picked her phone out of it.
There was still time...

Robert's eyes lit up like fireworks at her words. If anyone knew where the best of anything was, it was Reine. He took her hand like a little child, and let her drag him to the casino of her choice.
"Remember when you went to your first casino, kitten?" He murmured with a distant voice. By the sound of it, he made it seem like he had been there every step of the way, walking those gaudy halls with her, playing cards on the same table, getting their picture taken with the strangely dressed characters that hobbled along for entertainment value.
But in reality, he'd only been there with her in his own mind. Every letter she had sent while she was away was read in private, under his covers, as he soaked up every word and imagined he was living her life as well. Or at least, living it with her.
He stared up at the lights with a wistful expression. "I remember it like it was yesterday."

"Caesars Palace," she announced, grinning. It was tacky, sure, but Robert had said he liked tacky, hadn't he? It was impressive, in its own right, and Robert would probably enjoy that.
"You remember that far?" Reine was honestly surprised; his saying that jolted her memory, and she blushed a little, embarrassed. That story. Yeah. When Reine was about twelve she'd gone on a cruise with her mom and aunt, who'd decided to try their luck at the casino.
Reine, of course, had been left at the play area, but that fact hadn't quite made it into her letter to Robert.. instead, it'd been replaced by a story about sneaking into a casino and winning- no, she hadn't gone quite far as the jackpot- coins from a slot machine.
"Well, time to see what it's like for yourself!" She waved her hand airily, as if she could brush away the way Robert was looking at her. "Hurry up, the sooner we get in the more time we get to spend here!"
To be completely honest, though, this would be her first visit to a casino.
