Danny let out a deep sigh of relief. "Oh thank sweet Sally," Danny squeaked. She definitely didn't want to belong to Roch. Way too weird. Sure, she would've done it if it made him happy, but there was Rikki, and that was Roch and ...
Ewwwww.
Still, Danny felt warm and fuzzy that he didn't think of her that way, but still in a caring way. She really did miss him while he was gone. "So what else happened?" As interesting as this whole love talk was, Danny was already bored of it. It wasn't very action-y, and it was clearly making Roch uncomfortable.
"Unless you have more stories about ghoul troubles. You know I'm aaaaaaalways here for you~" she cooed jokingly, leaning forward, and then returning back to her original spot, throwing her head back to laugh hoarsely. The laughing eventually caused her wings to ripple in pain, and it ended in a hiss. Was that what they called karma?

"Nah, I'm tired of talkin' about ghoul problems," he said, a wry smile pulling at his lips as she hissed. "I'll tell you about my vacation, how's that sound? See, before the field trip there was this fish I wanted to buy--I didn't have the cash, so I worked real hard for it, only to come back to find it was bought. So I went to steal it back."
He said it so matter-of factly. "See, my granddad was the one that bought it. But he caught me when I was sneaking in, so next thing I know, I was gettin' dragged all over Halloween. I went to this town, Danny! It's called Muertes, it's AWESOME. They had these bands called mariachi and they had these skeleton ghouls in fancy dresses and a parade! It was so jackin' fun!"

Danny listened intently, clearly excited to hear about Roch's adventures. He always seemed to be be up to something exciting. Then again, so was she, what with her parkouring and her adventures in the lava cavern ...well nevermind that.
Completely missing the point of the story, Danny asked, "What kind of fish?"
Shaking her head, she said, "W-wait that's not what I meant to say," Nevermind that it was exactly what she wanted to say, "It sounds like fun! We should take music club there!" Minus Edel, she added under her breath. "What else happened?"

"I picked up a new dance, which I would teach you, but you ain't in any shape to dance right now, so that's out," Roch said, thinking. "Me and Mot met up in his town and we went to a concert." That's right, Roch, DON'T mention the run in with Lizzy the day before. "Uh... my dad and granddad rubbed the side of my head a lot, which was irritating. I learned to ride a motorcycle, though!"
That had been awesome. He even had dreams of what type of bike he was going to get in the future. "Oh, here, I got some pictures," he said, bringing them up on his phone to show her. The first one was of an eight year old skeleton ghoul with flowers painted on her skull and a pretty red and black dress. "This is Carmelita. She showed me around Muertes."

At the appropriate time, Danny whacked her friend and said, "Why'd you go to a concert without me!" She was on vacation? That shouldn'tve mattered! Jack dangit Roch!
Also at the appropriate (or perhaps inappropriate?) time Danny rubbed Roch's head as well. "I don't get it," was all she commented. She had noticed the haircut ... shave when she arrived, but didn't think much of it. It was just a haircut after all. She kinda liked it, but prefered his cool braided mohawk fauxhawk thing. More hair to burn appreciate!
She looked through his pictures with a big smile on her face. Roch was so happy! He usually wasn't enthusiastic about anything, but he was practically giggling with this. "Awww! She's cute!" she commented. "Why are you getting little ghouls to show you around though?" It was said jokingly, but Danny couldn't help but be a little confused.

"See, the moment we got there Pop and Granddad were grabbed by ladies and started to dance, and she grabbed me," he said with a shrug. "And dragged me around, like I was her date for the day. But hell, she took me to candy booths and to this pinata thing, and all sorts of cool stuff, so I was pretty happy," he said. "I got a jackload of stuff there! I got a chocolate skull for you back in my room, I'll give it to you later. But it'd probably melt in your room."

Somehow Danny could picture Roch's dad and grandpa dancing with a bunch of ladies. Isn't that ... kind of what Roch did? Danny smiled at that. She felt like she had a little secret that Roch didn't.
"Candy!!" Danny squealed before he was even done with his sentence. She loooved candy. Then again, what teenager didn't like candy in copious amounts? She squirmed and wiggled even more at that fact that he brought her back something. Danny would've brought him something too, but there wasn't exactly ... much to get at a business building. A free pen maybe? Somehow, Danny couldn't imagine Roch enjoying that.
Either way, she was happy. "Chocolate's best when it's melted!" she added matter of factly to his little story. This seemed like a very crazy vacation. "So what happened next?" she said, setting her head on his shoulder. Her wings frittered with excitement for the next part of the story, giving another hiss. At least she was slowly forgetting about it.

He frowned, suddenly. Then sighed. "We came home. I thought they were gonna drop me off, but they took me to this little cafe nearby and..." He groaned. "We ran into Xiu," he admitted. "And Dad gives her this spiel about it being my sixteenth birthday--sure it was, but that didn't really matter, I mean--"

"Well, yeah," he said. "Jack, Danny, do I really look that old?" He looked at her blankly. "You're not that much older than me, are you?" he added. He'd never really thought about how old Danny was, now that he thought about it. She acted like she was twelve, but he figured she had to be somewhat older than that.
"And it ain't like I can change my age, besides, my dad's only like, thirty four or five, so he was only like, nineteen or twenty when I was born, y'know? So if I WAS older then he woulda been like, MY AGE when he had a kid, which is REALLY scary, so--"

It didn't really make a difference to her what age Roch was. For one, they both acted like they were seven years old as it is, so that was out. For two, age didn't really seem to matter at Amityville. She had met a fifteen year old knob student, and a seventeen year old snot student. Well whatever. Roch was Roch, and he was going to be her best friend regardless.
Was this awkward? Maybe. Danny didn't notice, nor care. "So Xiu..." she said, attempting to change the subject, "How did that go?"

"My dad talked her into coming to an amusement park with us," he said quietly. "So I spent the day with her. It was fun... but..." He flipped through his phone, pausing as a pic of Xiu from the day at the amusement park appeared--then turning to check an answer to his groanspring. "Oh, awesome, Chuppi has some," he told her, grinning. "I can go get it from her. She's jackin' awesome, you know? She's my new friend."

"But what?" Danny retorted. He seemed to drop the sentence in favor of his phone, but Danny wouldn't let him. Oh no she wouldn't. "But what!!!" This story was just too good to drop! He had to continue!
Her curiousity was more powerful though. "Chuppi has some what?" Danny's face creased into a frowning pout. "You can't take everyone Roch! I saw her first!" Had Danny seen her first? She wasn't really sure. Danny's spoiled brat side was coming out again.

"Jack Danny, she's not like a candy bar. We can share her," Roch said, making the ghoul sound much like a candy bar indeed. "She's got this voice, like a siren. She sang for me!" He hesitated though, not wanting to move Danny around just yet to go get it. They hadn't talked about everything yet!
"Hey, what was your vacation like?" he asked her. "I told you about mine, now it's your turn!" And it was time to change the subject from Xiu.

Danny was getting uncomfortable on his shoulder, so she switched to laying on his lap, with her back facing him, and her head tilted up towards him on her own arm. It certainly wasn't as comfortable as lying on her back, but it would have to do. She didn't want to risk killing herself via pain-shock after all.
"My vacation ... lessee," she said, tapping her chin. "Well I left ... two frightdays ago?" She couldn't really remember, "And I had to go to this party thrown by my mummy- you'd hate it. There were a bunch of stuffy demons that just wanted to talk about boring things." In a bit of a lowered tone, she added, "Then I had to ... wear a dress." She looked around to see if anyone was listening. Hopefully no one had caught that embarrassing tidbit but Roch.
She threw an arm out and said, "Once that was done, I had to go to ... Oersted's..." Her voice grew a bit quieter at the end there. If Roch didn't want to talk about Xiu, she didn't want to talk about Oersted's but ...
