We're adding to our family! Owner of First Parent: Yushika First Parent's Name: Benvolio Paris First Parent's Image: Paris -- Owner of Second Parent: RockerWolfie1616 Second Parent's Name: Vidar Second Parent's Image: Vidar -- Owner of Child: Yushika
Gift to Child: A dragon toy made by Vidar~ RP Response: (( It is long because Wolfie and I role-played it <3 We spent a lot of time, so sorry it's reallllly long! Finally finished! ))
Dammit all to hell, the heat was threatening his very existence. Who would have thought a simple date with Vidar would end up with him nearly melting into the sidewalk, contemplating his last words? What would he say? "I love you" was cheesy, yet romantic, fitting Paris' personality. Maybe he'd go with something funny, lighten the mood a bit. Or perhaps something dramatic? They all seemed good candidates, perhaps something funny so Vidar wouldn't cry so much. Damn. Way to ruin a date, dying on the sidewalk over heat stroke.
Hmm. During his pondering he barely noticed movement to the right, to busy on both identifying what his last words should be and if he should keep walking so close to Vidar. He enjoyed it, but the added heat was probably a bad idea. Anyway, how the hell was the orange haired male not burning up? He was wearing armor! It didn't make sense. Maybe the armor had air conditioning? Yes. He should jack Vidar's armor... No. He rather die then his sexy mate. Well, blast it all. They could enter a shop but all that was around were shops aimed at women, and to hell was he entering them for any reason, death be damn.
"Please... stop..." Eh? His eyes flicked over, stopping and using his tail to flick across Vidar's chest, stopping him as well. Eh?! What he saw horrified him, a small child sobbing as bigger, stronger, and better groomed children laughed, a few occasionally throwing stones at the child. It was apparent they were teasing the child, but... why? Shoving past both his mate and his mental ramblings about heat, his paw swiping out and knocking a child over, glaring as the group swerved around to look at him.
"What the hell is wrong with you? They can't even defend themselves against the lot of you!"
Hot hot hot. He could barely breathe, his armor felt bulky plus it added heat. Still Vidar could not be happier.....being out with his love, his mate and, precious one. The heat might have made him woozy but, ..whoa wait. A sudden brush of Paris's tail against his chest and, voices drew the orange haired males attention, his thoughts dropped off..his brain fizzled at the sight of the crying ragged child.
Hurt. Those bigger children were hurting that sweet little fluffy boy and, it made the mostly happy quiet Vidar's blood boil. "Paris..make them go away!" Growling out the words the bristling fox darted forward to curl around the poor little...thing..no not thing boy, child, baby. "Shh...it's alright..shhh..you can come home with me and, Paris will make those mean bigger kids go away..you are safe now." Crooning softly Vidar hoped to soothe and, ease the little ones pain..his fear while Paris dealt with the naughty children that had dared harm such a poor little Baby.
Ah, good. Vidar and him were on the same page. Watching the boy become swept up in his mates arms he turned to the group of brats, tail lashing back and forth violently.
"You better scatter before I find each of your parents and let them know what you've done. Can't be to hard, there aren't that many houses nearby, pretty sure your parents live in one just round the corner, nyeh?" His eyes watched the children's faces turn from annoyed to frightened, rushing off in separate directions. His expression softened, turning to the boy that was currently struggling, and hard from Vidar.
The boy was scrawny, to scrawny. His small, boyish face had cuts and bruises, squirming out of Vidar's arms, darting ahead, and yelping in fright when he bumped straight into Paris, backing away and into the buildings wall, ears flipped back. The runt's eyes flicked back and forth, staring straight at the building across from the street, and intently.
Before he could stop it Vidar felt a whine leave his lips, a very child like noise of disappointment at losing the poor little male. Darn he seemed to be a slippery little thing!
Sensing and, seeing the fear..the tension he settled right there on the ground, bottom flat to the hot pavement/sidewalk, eyes warm and welcoming. "It's okay...we won't harm you..would you like a treat?" With his typical sunny smile Vidar peeked into the little bag he had been carrying, tugging out a piece of brightly wrapped candy which he offered with a open palm to the boy.
"Here...it's alright.." Maybe, just maybe if he could get the boy close..he could pet him and, clean his wounds up a little..or try and get him to talk. He just looked so pitiful..Vidar wanted the boy..he wanted to snuggle him...to clean him up and, feed him till he looked like other well cared for children did.
The child took one look at Vidar, one hard look, and then looked back at the building he had been previously staring at. Though, the sweet seemed rather tempting, glancing over, inching closer, and suddenly gripping the candy between his teeth and bolting for the building, running head first into the door, and knocked back onto the ground.
However, the impact seemed to notify whomever was inside, a older female noodle peeking her head out of the door, scowling, and shooing the boy inside with a firm pat on the back, glancing up to see Vidar and Paris. The boy poked his head out of the door, eyed the two, and yelled from where he was:
"You should adopt someone from here." Before once more darting inside. The sound of children bickering, playing, and generally making noise could be heard until the door was closed firmly.
Paris turned to Vidar, stared at him, and then narrowed his eyes. "Candy? You've been holding out on me, Vi."
Vidar could feel his eyes rolling, too distracted by the sight of the cute little male darting away..what was that building? An orphanage? Adopt..that's what the little male had said..everything slowly clicked into place and, without a word to Paris he scampered towards the door of the orphanage. "Hello? I'd like to adopt someoen from here..my mate and, I would." Okay so he had just spoken for Paris but, Vidar had been wanting a child..though having their own felt like a lot right now, maybe adopting one..would boost their confidence and, maybe..just maybe it could lead them towards having their own children in the near future. The thought sent a wave of nervous, happy butterflies through the orange haired males stomach. Babies, children..a child of their own to love..to cherish and care for. It felt so right. Settling down at last and, stopping their sort of random lifestyle..a child would help bring them together he thought. Plus that little boy had struck a chord in Vidar's heart, he would not leave without the kit. "Paris..c-can we..please?" Turning from the entrance of the building he let his eyes get all soft, sad and puppy dog in appearance. Few could say no to him when he pulled such a face complete with a trembling lip and, shimmering teary eyes. "I-i won't go home without him! Wouldn't..you like to have a child..all our own?"
Now, when Vidar ran off and asked for a child Paris almost fainted. Of course he wanted kids, but he wanted to at least prepare a bit! Adopting a kid? Hell, Paris loved kids, he really did, and a child with Vidar.... That would be perfect. His eyes drifted to the orphanage, head shaking despite his own urges. Softly, he put his paw on his mates shoulder, leaning in.
"Vidar, I want a child with you, adopted or not. I want a family, I want us to have a kid. But, first, we haven't even made a room yet or bought toys, or even bought a bed. I want a child, Vidar, but how about we make their room and buy the necessary toys first before we do?"
He had almost fought..almost but, instead Vidar had nodded and, agreed to set up a room though he rushed to do it. Fussing over the smallest things..being sure there were tons of toys and, a nice comfy bed for their future child.
After cleaning a bit more..they just had to get ready for Christmas..that was when Vidar wanted to go pick up the cute little male. No other child would do! Already he had stocked their cabinets with food and, some little treats that kits liked. Today today! Just as the first snow fell outside, Vidar bounced by the door, waiting for Paris. "Hurry! Let's go get him! Please please Paris I can't wait any longer!"
There was a point where Paris wondered just how excited his mate could get without exploding. Sure, he was excited beyond belief, but Paris had a way of showing it that wasn't bouncing off the walls like a crazy person. Either way, it was adorable, his paw reaching out to stroke Vidar's hair/
"Yes yes, lets go."
He had spent weeks preparing, buying books and supplies to teach the child with, watching movies on parenting and attending classes. Now finally today was the day. Throwing his jacket on, he handed Vidar his own jacket and took his hand, heading out the door.
When they arrived at the orphanage he led his mate into the building, guiding him past the desk and out to the room where playing children were. "I will talk to the head of the orphanage, alright? Can you find the boy?"
He walked off, briefly once glancing back as if to look for the child himself, not having such luck, and once more returning to his previous goal.
Beaming in a way that would make the sun jealous Vidar nodded and, darted through the freshly falling snow too excited to do or say much when they finally arrived.
With a quick shake off he made his way about the room, having only half heard Paris in his excitement. He had to find that boy..that cute little ball of fluff..the one he would take home and, love forever and ever.
After some time looking with little luck a pouting Vidar plopped down, petting the kits that moved over begging for attention. Well..maybe they could take home another child. No it just felt wrong! He had to find that boy!
And there he was. Pressing into the corner of the room with a book and only a book, his eyes flicked across the page, looking up only once when a child tried to throw themselves on him. He turned a bright pink, mouth opening and closing, the act of stuttering could be seen from where Vidar was. The other child seemed put off, walking away in a few seconds flat, and leaving the boy to turn back to his book, biting his bottom lip.
Blinking Vidar's eyes flickered over and, yes..he had spotted him! The boy..that cute little fluffy kit that had been in his head for so long. Okay..that may have sounded dramatic..but, he hadn't always been the most adult or patient noodle in the world. Age after all happened to just be a number.
Curious about the seemingly shy boy all buried in his book the gray male moved back to his feet and, carefully moved towards him. "Hello little one, it's nice to see you again..Paris will be here soon but, before that happens..what are you reading?" Trying to be gentle despite the happy fluttering joy he felt at finding him, the kit he had wished to bring home, Vidar resisted his urges. Like the urge to bounce about, the urge to snuggle and, pet the cute male until he looked happier.
Frightened eyes looked up, ears flicking back. Oh. Oh! Those people from before.... Briefly he glanced at his book, then up at the male
"The Best Guide On How To Make Friends." He whispered back, looking down at the ground. What was he supposed to do? This man had returned to speak to him.... was he thinking... N-No... They'd never... he wasn't as outgoing as the others nearby.
"I-I... It's a hard book to read...." Fluffy cheeks turned red, he covered his face with the book to hide from Vidar.
A guide on how to make friends? Small frown forming and, brows furrowing Vidar thought the males words over, did he not have friends? Could he not read well? One thing seemed pretty obvious..the boy had such little confidence..he looked as if he would bolt given the chance. Like he thought of himself as less. So without a thought Vidar blurted out what he had been wanting to say all along. "I am taking you home with me..with us! You will be my son and, you will have your own room and tons of nice books to read..I can help you read." Smiling happily, in his usual bright way Vidar leaned down closer, whispering softly. "Can I tell you a secret?"
The blurt made him jump, lowering the book when the man spoke. T-Take him home? Why? Why him? Why would he possibly want him? However, when he spoke his eyes widened, nearly dropping his book.
"R-Really? M-Me?" He didn't know what to say, or even what to do.... He was.... he was going to have a...a home! As the other promised books he barely listened. That didn't matter because having a family was better then any books! As the man leaned in he looked up, blinking. "W-What?"
Chuckling softly Vidar nodded and, peeked around..pretending to make sure others weren't near to hear what he said to the kit. "I have something..something magic that will make you super brave..would you like it?" Eyes filled with love and, a sparkle of something..possibly mischief, he hoped Paris had been held up long enough for them to have this moment together. This tiny moment to bond..to bring some kind of light to those sweet eyes. Oh how he longed to take the little male home! Soon soon. First he had to give his soon to be son something special. After all..everyone deserved a Christmas present.
"Special? His eyes widened, sitting up more. A present? For him? His own present? He dropped his book now, looking at this man.... this man who would be his new daddy. When he looked about he did so as well, wondering if this was a secret that he had to protect. He could! He was good at secrets! The very best at secrets! The bestest! Nodding his head again, Vidar turned, and slipped his paw into the small bag he usually carried when he went out. The 'brave' present happened to be a small stuffed toy..one Vidar had made with his own two 'hands'. It had been worth it..especially now that he could use it and, possibly lift the sweet, shy kits spirits.
"Alright..here it is...a mighty dragon! Brave and, strong..but, not all are mean like the stories say..in fact some are wonderfully kind..and some..turn into stuffed toys to help make their owners brave. This ones just for you.." Beaming Vidar offered the soft stuffed toy to /his / child..where had Paris gone off to? "Just keep it safe..and, you'll always be brave..how about we go find your daddy hm? Paaarriisss!"
His eyes widened, arms reaching out and accepting the present. This.... he... he would make him strong! When the man began to yell he just started to cry happily, staring at the dragon. This was the best thing he had ever received. He... it... he loved Sir.Dragon! When the man looked away he touched his paw, allowing his paw to hold the mans, and looked up at him.
"Thank you." He whimpered between little sniffles, then turning to look when a horned man entered the room.
"Whoa whoa." Paris laughed lightly when kids came over to him. They were cute, but they weren't the little boy he was seeking. Ah! Vidar and the little boy were in the corner... Oh.. Wait! "Vidar! You made him cry!" Horrified, he approached the boy, lifted him up, and tilted his head when the boy snuggled into him, holding a little dragon toy close to him.
Looking over at Vidar, a large smile came upon Paris' face, leaning in and kissing his mate. "Everything is approved. We can be a family now." He whispered happily, smiling when the kit yawned where he was.
Pausing for a second, he blinked. "Wait. Where did you get that toy?" The kit just looked at Vidar and grinned happily, snuggling Sir.Dragon harder.

I seek a child of my own!Owner of Parent: Usually Strange Parent's Name: Void Parent's Image:[x]-- Owner of Child: Usually Strange Gift to Child: Her favorite and only childhood toy, her little doll RP Response:Void hurried down the city streets, eager to find the store she was headed for and get out of the cold. It was starting to snow lightly. If she had been in a better mood, she might have stopped to catch a few flakes on her tongue or stare up at the sky to have some land on her eyelashes. But Void certainly was not in a good mood. The holidays always seemed to have a profoundly depressing effect on her. They never were a happy time in her life, but there was always one thing that could make them a little bit brighter. Toys. Which is exactly why she was headed to the toy store. To spoil herself with playthings for kits and forget for a while that she never had any growing up and pretend that she wasn't alone. As she approached the door to the store, she saw a little kit sitting with her nose pressed against the glass of the display window. Curious as to what could be so interesting that it kept this kit out in the snow, Void stood beside the kit and squinted into the display. She didn't see whatever it was the kit saw. Just a bunch of those creepy animatronic dolls surrounded by trains. Nothing great. "....What're you looking at kid?" she asked, The girl jumped and stared at Void wide eyed, apparently she hadn't noticed that Void was standing next to her. The child shuffled her paws and looked back into the display. "That doll. In the back. She's really pretty." The girl's voice was quiet and hoarse. Void saw which doll she meant, it was a simple little thing, nothing fancy like the others. She didn't see what was so great about it. "...Well. It's cold out here. Why aren't you inside? Or with your parents? Who's watching you?" The girl's face lost the little sparkle it had when she was looking at the doll. "They....Uhm. I don't know. They're not with me. I'm here with the orphanage... One of our caretakers took us here. They thought it would be fun." The girl looked at the ground. "It's really not any fun to walk around and look at all the stuff you can't have." Void was rather taken aback by the girls response. She could only imagine what the poor girl was feeling right now. Being brought out to a place where she was forced to watch people buy things for people they loved. Happy families, sweet old grandparents, and then there were the bratty kids that complained about everything they didn't get to buy. Void felt a pang of sympathy, suddenly violently aware of how similarly she had felt as a child. Left alone on Christmas, no presents, no family, no one to make her feel wanted... Void patted the kit on the shoulder, smiling softly. "Come inside. Yer gonna get sick if you stay out here kid. And uhm... If we can find that doll, I can...you know, buy you one." How freaking selfish she had been just a few minutes ago, way too eager to buy herself all sorts or playthings. It never even occurred to her to buy toys for kids that didn't get any. The kit smiled widely at Void. "You mean it? Really?" "Yeah really. Now c'mon." They walked into the store together and headed towards the isle with the dolls. "So what's your name anyway?" Void asked the kit who was happily browsing through the shelved dolls. "Uhm. Merriam. That's what they said I was named." Merriam looked distant, whether it was because she was looking for a doll or because she didn't want to talk about personal things, Void couldn't be sure. They were quiet for a moment. Void finally piped up. "So uhm. Are your friends around? Like, shouldn't you be with a group?" Merriam shook her head. "My friends were adopted. I'm the oldest kid left at the orphanage...." She stroked the hair of a doll and looked sadly at Void. "I guess I wasn't what people were looking for. And the caretakers never pay much attention to who's where..." Void felt as if she'd been shot through the heart. Not what people were looking for? This girl was so much like she was as a child. Void briefly flashed back to her mother and all the times she had told her that she wasn't pretty enough, thin enough, or graceful enough, and all the times her father had told her she was a screw-up, stupid, and a mistake. Not what they were looking for. Maybe she was reading to deeply into things, but suddenly Void felt like she shared something with Merriam. Like she understood how bad life could suck for someone who felt alone. Understand what it's like to be without a family. Though she grew up with both parents, Void could hardly bring herself to call them parents. Everyday of her childhood she had wished she had been put up for adoption. Maybe then she would at least have a shot at a loving family. That must be exactly what Merriam wished for every day. People to love her. "Oh... Well... that sucks." She cleared her throat and wiped a paw across her eye, she could feel herself becoming rather emotional. "Uhm, did you uh, did you find the one you wanted?" Merriam shook her head. "I guess that one was only for display... Thanks though, for offering." She lowered her eyes to the floor and whispered, "It's really the nicest thing anyone ever did for me around Christmas." Void couldn't handle it anymore. She started to tear up. "No...No problem. Uhm. Hey, here." Void took off her hat and pulled out her favorite toy, the only one she was ever given growing up. "This is Danni. I carry her around everywhere. She was my best friend when I was growing up, and we've spent some really crappy Christmases together." She paused to wipe her eyes again with her free paw and held the doll out to Merriam. "I think she's getting pretty sick of me by now. She could use a new friend." Merriam looked back and forth between Void and the doll, unsure if this was really happening. Hesitantly, she took the little doll from Void and held her close. "Th-thank you..." she whispered, grinning from ear to ear. "I'll take good care of her, I promise." "Yeah, you do that. She's a really good listener so uh, you know, if you ever need to..." Void trailed off, she could hardly keep it together. Merriam was so cute, so grateful for such a simple gesture. It broke her heart to know this girl was going to go home to a building and wait and wonder if anyone would ever love her. Just like Void. An older female noodle could be heard calling all the children to the door to leave. Merriam thanked Void again, held Danni close to her and scurried over to the door so she wouldn't be left behind. Void slumped against the shelf of toys and cried. She didn't care that she was in public, or that she was in a toy store. She just...cried. For herself, for Merriam and for all the other children who had to go through life on their own. Suddenly Void realized she was being selfish again. There was no way she could let Merriam face a life of not being wanted. She scrambled to her feet and ran out to catch up with the group of orphans. "Merriam!"

I seek a child of my own! Owner of Parent: xXSakura_ForeverXx Parent's Name: Roka Parent's Image: Image -- Owner of Child: xXSakura_ForeverXx Gift to Child: One of his drumsticks RP Response:Christmas was by no means a grand celebration in Roka’s household. His father tried to make it lively, but often failed, and his aunt was too reserved and stoic to ever want to “get in the holiday spirit.” After three years of Christmases, you would think something would change. Approaching a fourth year of a weak attempt at a festive holiday, Roka couldn't stand to be there. He left the home as his father wasted his effort trying to decorate the..well, everything. He honestly had thought by this point he would have his own family, with a beautiful mate that was all his own, sharing what would actually be a bright and joyous Christmas. Roka believed he would have that for a while, but he hasn’t seen his old mate in years. All his time blends together anymore, only marked by certain events that others make a big deal out of. He sighed and kicked a rock. This was not him. He was a quiet kid, always was, but that was only because he had a rhythm all his own. Where had that gone? He slipped on his headphones in hope of regaining that beat that was distinctly his. The melody washed over him, calming those mental jitters in no time. He smiled halfway as he felt even the drumsticks tucked into his collar resonate in him with their own symphony. Roka pulled one out, tapping it on different objects as he walked along a path. He didn’t know where he was going, and he really wasn’t sure he cared. As long as it wasn’t toward home. Moving one headphone off of his ear, he noted the sound of wood against a pebble, and then he compared it to the vibrations of the drumstick on a large, thicker rock. This. This was what he was missing. He grinned and stopped moving, waiting for the music in his ears to pick up, tail hitting the dirt in its own song, complementary to the one emanating from his headphones. He twirled the stick patiently, banging it on a tree trunk as the music swelled. “Yes!” he shouted in ecstasy. Music worked for him, and he had finally found it again. He rediscovered himself, and it wasn’t as hard as he had anticipated it to be. And maybe that’s what made it impossible to do in the first place, because when he stopped forcing it, it came to him. He never had to work at music, so he had to stop trying to. All that did was stress him out and make him bitter. But, smiling genuinely for the first time in years, as he took his headphones all the way off, he could hear again. REALLY hear. The birds, the way the wind shook the leaves with such a mighty force, and the tune they all seamlessly created as one. He pounded his fist onto the ground gleefully and watched the dust float up around it. Then he heard a rustle of leaves, separate from the sounds he had orchestrated. Roka flicked one ear sharply in the direction before following it with his body. He willed himself to calm down and approach with caution. The fox kept his ears focused on any small movements, which led him to a bush nearby, and he felt like he really had no choice but to peek inside it. Since nothing was attacking him yet, he figured it must not be sinister or intending any harm to him. Roka poked his nose into the bushel of leaves, ignoring the scratchy feeling against his snout as he did so. He caught a whiff of what smelled like a fox. He finally stuck his whole head in, peering into the depths. In an instant, whatever was inside dashed out of the bush. He was quick to follow the creature, stopping when he saw it in its entirety. “Oh,” he breathed, slowing his racing heart and easing out of chase mode that had kicked in. It’d been awhile since he had gotten to run. It’s no fun to do it aimlessly and alone. He refocused his gaze on the kit ahead of him. The small thing looked terrified, tail between its legs, and head dipped though watching Roka warily. “Hey,” he greeted, carefully stepping towards the child. The kit moved away in response, so Roka just stayed where he was. “I’m not going to hurt you, if that’s why you’re scared.”He put his drumstick back with the other one, between his collar and his neck. Roka then straightened up his stance and adjusted his headphones to sit more comfortably on his neck. “What are you doing?” The voice of the kit was feminine and on guard, but Roka detected some curiosity lingering there. He had taken notice of the way her head raised while he messed with his headphones. “Distracting you,” he easily replied. He had to chuckle quietly at the obviously confused look on her face. “I know what it’s like to think too much. You can’t observe and just be. Instead you get so absorbed in your head and I mean, we can’t help but believe our brain, right? If I move and do things that catch your attention, you stop thinking, and so you’re not reminded of how scared or nervous your brain is telling you you should be,” Roka explained. He sighed heavily; he hadn’t spoken that much in ages. “I hope that made sense.”The kit’s tail unfurled from its position under her body, causing Roka to offer a gentle smile. She nodded at him. “I didn’t think about that.”“No worries. It’s just something I do sometimes.”She nodded again, perceptibly shy. She raised her gaze to the drumsticks Roka adorned, not realizing she had taken a step or two towards him. Roka liked her interest in his drumsticks, but let it go unspoken. He didn’t want to push her or scare her off more than necessary. “Why are you out here by yourself, kiddo? A bush can’t be a fun hiding place.”“I’m not supposed to be out here this long, but I got lost. I heard music and tapping and I.. I didn’t mean to make you stop, mister.” She lowered her eyes instinctively. He shrugged and grabbed a drumstick. He watched the kit and played a beat on the ground. He smiled when she became entranced, eyes widened in amazement. “Like that?” At her curt nod, he went on. “You ever played before?”She swished her tail, finding herself closer to him than she was a minute ago. “Kind of. My housemates don’t like when I do. I don’t.. I don’t sleep all the time like them. So they get mad when I’m up at night and bang on the wood because the wood sound different than the mattress and.. Well, then they tell me I’m no good and to go to sleep.”“That’s rough, kid.”She nodded, looking up at him with something like adoration in her bright eyes. “You.. You hit the rocks and the tree, and they all sounded different. That’s what I do.”He nodded a couple of times before laughing. “Sounds like you’re a natural. I used to do that when I was a youngster, too. Nothing to be ashamed of.”“I’m not, but I don’t feel like I’m any good at it because no one wants to hear what I can do. In the day they’re all loud, and at night they’re all grouchy.”“How many noodles do you live with, kiddo?”She shrugged. “I don’t know.”“Not your family, then?” Roka sat back on his haunches, finding himself intrigued by the kit now standing in front of him confidently. She shook her head at him. “I stay at an orphanage. No family.”Roka winced a little. “Ouch. Sorry to hear that.”The child just shook her head again. “Don’t be, okay? I don’t like that.”“Noted. Don’t you wanna have a home? Like, a real home, where somebody takes cares of you and not a bunch of others who are alone, too?”“Of course I do.” Roka twirled his drumsticks absently, smiling when he saw her following it with her eyes. “I want a home more than anything...” She leaned up, gesturing for him to gap the distance. He obliged, setting his ear next to his mouth and listened as she conspiratorially whispered, “I asked Santa to find me a home for Christmas, and the other kids will laugh if I tell them because they think they’ll get a family before me, but I believe that Santa does what’s right. And plus, he can do anything!” She pulled back at last, and smiled for the first time since Roka’s meeting her. “Did you know he has reindeer? And they fly!!”“No way!” He grinned and bopped her lightly on the nose with his drumstick. “I bet Santa will come through for you, kid. I really hope he does.” Roka would be lying if he said he wasn’t tempted to take this little girl home himself because she was just so full of innocence. She was the epitome of childhood, and man had he wished someone had been there to give him the world. He always got lost in the shuffle of his parents and other siblings when he needed attention most. But now he was alone, and all he has is his music. So really, what would he risk? “Me, too. I don't think the other kids want to think Santa is real because they're in the orphanage, you know.. It's sad because Christmas is supposed to be a happy time! I heard that there's snow, too!""There sure is," he assured her with a smile. "Will there be this year?""'Course.""Promise?" She looked up at him anxiously, wanting someone to come through for her, just for once. Roka took his headphones from around his neck, then put them back after examining them briefly. He then handed her his drumstick. "Here."She cautiously accepted it. But...what if he wanted it back? People didn't just give her things. "Keep it, it's yours," Roka told her simply, having sensed her worry from the start. "And you know what?" He got down to eye level with her. "What?" she whispered, intently focusing on his eyes. "I promise."She jumped up with a squeal. "You really promise?!"He nodded with a smile. "Yeah. I do.""Snow! Wow..!" She sobered a little when she gazed up at him. "Thank you, mister.""The name's Roka, kiddo. And don't.. Don't worry about, okay?"She nodded. "Do you think you could help me find my way back?"Roka agreed to help her, and they set off. It turned out they weren't actually that far, but it was the thought that counted at the end of the day. As he watched her ascend the steps, back to a place where she would be drowned out by those around her and lost in the tide of everyday life, like he was so many years ago, he called her back down to him. "Yes?" She asked, tilting her head ever so slightly. Without warning, Roka scooped her up into a hug, sighing with a smile when he felt her nuzzle into his fur. He set her back down on the ground and shook his head when she tried to offer him the drumstick. "Nah, you keep it. Don't let anybody take it, cause that's all yours. And you make as much music as you want with it. 'Sides, I got my own." He grabbed hold of it and stretched out and arm to clack his drumstick against the one he gave her. He liked the way that action sounded, making a sound that was uniquely theirs. "See? I've had these for years. I think I can spare one by now." He chuckled and nodded at the door to the building, indicating that she should get back inside. She smiled and waved her drumstick triumphantly as she padded up the steps to the orphanage. Once she made it safely inside, Roka pulled aside the noodle who seemed to be in charge. "That kit who just now went inside. I'm.." Was he really doing this? He thought back to her hopeful attitude and sweet disposition and sighed. Yeah, he was. "I'm interested in adopting her."

I seek a child of my own! Owner of Parent: Juridian Soul Parent's Name: Eekayji Parent's Image: Eekayji -- Owner of Child: TanuKyle Gift to Child: A black stethoscope, wrapped in a rainbow knit-scarf. RP Response:It was a time of celebration of goodwill, and thinking of those less fortunate than you. Having come from rather... unusual circumstances himself, Eekayji felt for the orphans roaming the streets. He was overjoyed when he discovered they had been scooped up and cared for, at least temporarily. Three meals a day, and shared toys was a far better deal than starving to death on the mean, lean streets. The doctor approved of the adoptions, and was very much in attendance. While he would have liked a child of his own, his primary goal in this venture at the moment was to make someone happy. If he could make just one kiddo smile, his day would be complete - because what he had heard of these orphans... they really didn't have a lot to smile about. As he passed among the children, he was sure to memorize each and every face, marking them into his mental book for future reference. Some of them may need medical attention, after all, and what was a doctor for, if not to offer those services to these children? And he would do it, gladly. There were times in his life he was thankful for his talent, and this was definitely one of them. It just so happened to be needed this time around, as he came upon one of the quieter kits in the back of the place, seeming to be guarding against something, with his ears folded back to his head, crouched. Ee smoothly moved over to the child, and looked a little closer. It was guarding behavior, but not of material things. The kit was in pain, and trying to avoid telling anyone about it. "Here now..." Ee started lightly. "Why don't you stop snarling at me, and say hello?" The kit didn't speak... apparently couldn't speak. Just looked up at him mournfully, and curled his tail around himself even more. Ee's heart went out to the little boy, and he approached completely, starting to groom one of the oversized ears softly. "Easy there... easy... I won't hurt you. Why don't you let me look at you? I'm a doctor. I promise I won't hurt you." It didn't take too long, but the kit did hesitate just slightly, before he uncurled. Ee was immediately taken aback at what he saw. The kit's back left leg was bleeding, and dripping down to his paw. With his tail wrapped around him, he had been hiding it. Immediately, Ee went to work, withdrawing a pack of bandages from his bag, and starting to tend to the wounded leg, wrapping it snugly, but not too tight. The idea wasn't to cut off the circulation, after all. As he was working, the kit seemed to be gaining interest in the materials in his bag, nosing around while Eekayji went over the rest of him to find any other wounds. No more obvious ones, but he should at least look him over - the proper duty of any doctor. The kit really didn't seem to be able to speak, as Ee looked into his throat, and noticed terrible scarring all the way at the back, extending past the reach of the light he shone down to check. The most probably explanation was abuse, which didn't surprise him. The kit's ears were checked next and, unlike most of the young children going to the doctor Ee had seen, he didn't squirm or make a fuss as they were inspected. No infections, so that was good. Heart and lungs were next, and the kit took particular interest in the stethoscope the doctor was using. He kept pawing at it as though he wasn't sure what, exactly, it was. And judging from his age, and where he was, that was fully a possibility. Ee finished up the checkup with a quick look at all four paws, the tail, and the fur, finding nothing else amiss... Aside from a need of a good brushing. While he was there, Ee also took a look at the other children, but the kit from before seemed to enjoy tagging along after him, always silent, always sitting there, watching. When the doctor was finished with all the children that needed attention, he was still there, wagging that tail a bit back and forth as Ee paused to turn around and look at him. "You really enjoy watching me, don't you kiddo?" he asked, smiling. "I think I have just the thing for you. One moment. Stay right there. No peeking." The kit closed his eyes obediently, and stilled that waving tail as Ee moved off to the side, and took some things from his pack. The first was the spare stethoscope he kept in his bag, black, with silver accents. He set that aside for a moment, and brought another gift out of the bag, his original intended gift. It was a soft-knit rainbow colored scarf that had reminded him of the summer months. He had figured it might be a comfort to some cold child, and a promise of better things to come. The stethoscope went into the scarf, and got wrapped up like a little present, complete with a bow out of the ribbon he'd also brought with him for this occasion. Satisfied with his gift, he closed up his bag, and headed back to where the child was still waiting, eyes shut tight. Ee smiled, and nosed the gift in front of the child. "Open your eyes, kiddo. Something for you." The resulting silent squeal of joy after a moment was enough to melt Ee's heart, as the kit nuzzled into the doctor, rubbing up against him as a sign of affection. "I'm glad you like it, little one." he said, voice soft, as he wrapped a paw around the kit, and gave him a gentle lick. The kit didn't seem to want to move from the spot, buried soundly in Ee's chest. The doctor's fur was starting to grow a little damp, and it didn't take long to realize the cause. "Little one? What's wrong? Why are you crying?" Eekayji asked, giving the boy another few licks. "Are you okay? Are you in pain?" The kit shook his head, then buried himself into the doctor's fur. Ee's train of thought had a sudden seven-traincar-pileup as he put two and two together. "You want to come home with me...." If it was possible for the kit to cry harder, he would have just started to. Ee had apparently hit the nail right on the head. Quickly, the doctor ducked down, and licked away the tears. "You just wait right here, little one. I'll see what I can do." With that, he padded off to see if he couldn't fill out some important papers. After all, that kit wanted to go home with him, and honestly?.... He had grown rather fond of the little one himself.

I seek a child of my own!Owner of Parent: lysia_nyteblade Parent's Name: Crystalina Parent's Image: Crys-- Owner of Child: lysia_nyteblade Gift to Child: A warm blanket and a small wooden horse. RP Response:The holidays were often a rough time for those without. She had no real family here, the closest thing she had so far to call sort of family was Abisen, but he would now be busy with his own kits and his mate around the holidays. Walking down the snow covered path, she'd made her mind up the day before to bring a little joy to some one less fortunate than herself this year. After all.. Christmas was the time for giving. This morning she had carefully wrapped the warm blanket in a blue and silver wrapping paper, tucking the wooden toy horse inside the blanket before sealing it completely. She'd been planing to take the gift to the orphanage this year and give it to a little boy or girl that could use it. It was when she drew closer that she heard the sounds of the kits playing in the orphanage yard out back. Stopping, she watched the little ones for a while. They were all so skinny though some how their rumpled and ragged looks.. they were cheerful. It brought a warmth to her soul knowing that even with this shortcoming that the kits seemed so happy, playing and jumping in the snow. As her eyes scanned over the yard, she couldn't help but to notice a small little runt of a kit sitting on the sidewalk just watching the others play. She slipped through the gate, and walked up to the little girl. Setting the wrapped bundle on the ground, she sat down beside the kit and watched the others a while. "Why aren't you playing?" She looked at the kit with a kind, caring face. The Kit looked as though she'd been struck. "B-beggin your pardon miss... but were you talkin to me?"Crys nodded slowly. Yes I was..The kit looked at her with wide eyes. So many came to the orphanage but they often wanted the more playful kits. She looked so sickly that they often passed her over as being more trouble than worth. "I don't play much.. I'm too frail so the other kits don't let me play.." She frowned. Her heart tugged. It was a horrible thought. That the others could be so cruel. Well.. She knew kits could be so cruel.. but why would the adults snub some one who so obviously needed the help? Charity wasn't just something to be given to those that sort of needed it.. it was meant to be given to everyone, especially the more sickly and needy. "You poor, poor dear." She noticed the little girl shiver as the breeze blew by, her amethyst eyes filled with more pain and sadness that she herself had ever seen. "Here my dear.. you could use this little parcel I have with me." She smiled nudging it over towards her. The Kit looked skeptically at the finely wrapped gift. Leaning down, she sniffed at it before looking up at Crys. "Are you sure?? I wouldn't want you to get into trouble for giving away some one elses gift..""Quite sure. I was planning on giving it to some one here at the orphanage any ways.. I just thought you would better appreciate it." She smiled fondly. "I'm Crystalina by the way.." She smiled broadly at the kit. "What's your name?"She shrugged, staring at the parcel. It took a moment of silence before she finally opened it, carefully pulling the paper undone as if she were afraid to rip the wrapping. As the blanket came into view, her eyes lit up. "Oh wow! thanks.. I needed a new blanket..'Crys chuckled merrily. "I'm glad you like it.. there's something very special tucked inside it too." Lifting a paw, she lifted a corner of the folded blanket and revealed the wooden horse. "Now you can play to your heart's content. You can go anywhere you like on the back of this toy horse just use your imagination." She couldn't help but to beam at the look of sheer joy on the kit's face. "W-would you show me how?? To use my imagination that is.." She'd never owned any real toys.. the bigger kits often took any of the nicer things she had away but a wooden horse.. they wouldn't see the point in taking. "Of course." She chuckled lightly and picked up the small wooden horse. "Where would you like to go?""Anywhere at all?" She pondered this, furrowing her brow deeply as she pondered. Upon seeing Crys nod, she beamed up at her. "I'd like to go home with you."Crys felt taken back. Her heart warmed and tugged once more. How could she say no to such a plead? She hadn't ever known her parents and though she wasn't raised in an orphanage, she felt for the kit. She couldn't help but to nod an stand. "I'll see what I can do, Which direction's the office?" If she could do it, by golly she wouldn't let this dear sweet little girl be disappointed. "It's just inside.. Can't miss it.. There's a great big sign that says 'office' on it." She smiled gently taking the toy horse from Crys and hording both it and the blanket under her. She then started to idly fold the wrapping paper ever so neatly. "Thank you." With that she headed inside and into the office. As the head noodle closed the door behind her, she peered out the window to the little kit on the sidewalk. "I'd like to talk to you about the little girl on the sidewalk there." She smiled fondly. "I'd like to take her home with me.. to stay. I'd like to adopt her as my own."

I seek a child of my own!Owner of Parent: Strawberri Stardust Parent's Name: Tsukiko Parent's Image: Image-- Owner of Child: Strawberri Stardust Gift to Child: The flower in her hair, a small handmade doll, and a green string with jellybeans attached to look like Christmas lights. RP Response: It was Christmas time again, and this year Tsukiko was all on her own. It had been so long since she'd seen any of her family that she'd all but given up hope on seeing them again. But the holidays always made her hopeful. To see the bright lights decorating the shop always brought a smile to her face. But this year even the lights looked lonely... This year she seemed to notice more orphans than she had before and the kind-hearted fox wondered if they even had a place to go. On one of her rare ventures into town, she noticed a lonely looking building. She came a little closer to it and inside she could see little kits playing, and bowls being taken care of. She smiled a little until she realized this was not just a really big family. This was an orphanage and all the little kits inside were orphans. Her heart broke a little as she watched them play. Finally she couldn't take anymore and she went inside. "Excuse me, would it be alright if...if I played with the kits for a while?" she asked one of the adults. She received a nod and curt directions to the playroom. Not that she needed them since the kits were noisy. It was a good noise, though, one that made her smile a little. Once inside the room, however, she became a little lost. At least until she saw a little kit sitting next to a fireplace. Carefully she picked her way through the rest of the kits and sat near the lonesome girl. "H-hello," she murmured softly. "Would you like to play with me?" she asked and smiled when the little girl looked up at her. "You really wanna play with me?" the little girl asked quietly. "No one wants to play with me...they said I'm too little...""I don't think you're too little," Tsukiko answered. "I think you're a wonderful size. In fact, I think I was smaller than you when I was your age," she said and laughed softly. Wide eyes answered her. "Really? Smaller than me?" the little girl squeaked, but she smiled. Tsukiko nodded, and spent a wonderful couple hours talking and playing with the little kit. "Miss? Will you come and see me again?" she asked. Tsukiko smiled warmly and nodded before pulling the flower out of her hair and tucking it behind the girl's ear. "My mother gave me this when I was just a baby. I want you to keep it for me, okay?"The little kit nodded and smiled happily before the kits were rounded up for bedtime. Tsukiko watched her leave and waved before she left for the night. The next day, Tsukiko went back to visit the little girl again. This time she brought her a small doll that she'd made and a craft kit she bought on the way to the orphanage. "Today we're going to make our own Christmas lights!" she said proudly and spent the next hour giggling and making a mess with string and jellybeans. When they were finished, Tsukiko and the kit had their very own string of multi colored, edible Christmas lights. As she watched the little kit show some of the other orphans while she cleaned up their mess, Tsukiko knew that she wanted to give this little girl a home. She only hoped that she would be allowed to adopt her. When bedtime rolled around again and Tsukiko promised another visit, instead of leaving right away, she stopped by the office. "Excuse me," she murmured, "I'd like to adopt a kit, please."

I seek a child of my own!Owner of Parent: Gpprincess88 Parent's Name: Melissa Parent's Image: Image-- Owner of Child: Gpprincess88 Gift to Child: golden locket and the gift of love RP Response:It was the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was sturring, not even a mou-- ...wait what is this? Tis was a white fox with swirling light winter blue pattens on her fur. She was wrapping presents for her family. This was her favorite time of year. She was always into Christmas and planned for the special Christmas, were she would have the perfect mate and a wonderful family of her own. Her name was Melissa, the youngest of her family. She had two siblings but nothing they had, could she compare to her own. Melissa smiled despite the fact that she never really sees her siblings, but she always sees her mother and father. Melissa desperately wanted to prove as the youngest she could make it out on her own and have a family and be the best, she could be. She knew this was the year her parents were finally going to recognize her as the good one. So she sat there in her little cottage surrounded by presents. She smiled as she wrapped each present ever so carefully and perfect. As she completed the wrapping she placed a little holly bow on each present. Family meant everything to this little fox and everyone got the best, she even thought of others outside her family, that brave young fox. Meanwhile at the local orphange, a little kit was getting the ultimate abuse from the headmaster. The headmaster was evil as could be. She stole the money, that wealthy people donated to see these poor unfournate souls well being taken care of. Little did they know it was all work and no play. The orphange stank like moldy cheese, and yet these kits only ever knew of was this kid of life. Except the youngest of them all. The youngest was treated the worst. She was always trying to be good, but the headmaster had her favorites and this little girl was not one of those. The girl clung to her rusty bed as she received her "punishments." She wanted a better life. She only socialized with her best friend. She was like her sister. And she as well was treated horrible. The kit cried that night and she knew she needed to do something about this type of life. After the headmaster went to her glamorous room to do what she always does, the little kit snuck out the window and scattered off. She was cold and hungry as she pawed through the harsh winter night. She was scared of being out, but it was better than being in that place of hell. After walking about a half hour to an hour she came across a house. The house was bright with lights and decorations. Little snowman here, reindeer there, and jolly saint nick stuck upside down in the chimney. This warmed the kits heart. The little child crept closer to her window, she was drawn to the house of hope, the sign of love. This place she wished she could belong to. She couldn't take it anymore, she just HAD to get out of the drafty old place. She ran up to the window through the snow. Her paws were froze, but she was determined to see what was going in that house that was all danced up with lights. The little child peered in the window and seen Melissa wrapping presents one after another. The child wished she could have a loving parent as her, that was if she was a parent already, if not then a friend that cared about her would do. The child's mouth began to curl with excitement. The home looked as pretty inside, as it did outside. She put her paws more on the window and and tried to climb up the window onto the windowsill. Her back paws slipped and she fell knocking down the outside string of lights. Melissa jumped as she seen a flash of light being knocked off. She stared out the window and got up. She walked over to the door and opened it ajar. The icy wind blew into the house. She took a deep breath and walked out and bared to the right. She looked at the lights that had fallen, inside a little kit was all tangled up in the strings. The kit squirmed like a worm but was stuck. Her cheeks flushed red, she was completely embarrassed. She sighed, she now wished she was tucked in that cold bed in the orphanage instead of being stuck. The little kit looked up at Melissa with a tear in her eye. She was in the wrong, she was ready for the punishment, really she was. Melissa smiled at the kit and went over to her. Many thoughts went through her mind. Like was she okay or who was she? Melissa smiled and placed her holly behind her ear. She got down to the kit's level and looked at her. "Are you alright my dear?" She spoke ever so gently to the young one, as she helped her out. The kit looked up at her and spoke fast, "Imsorrypleasedontpunishmeididntmeantoitwasjustthatyourhomeissoprettyandiwantedtoseeitupclose." She panted after she spoke her words. Melissa smiled at the dear, after twisting and pulling her out. She picked up the young kit and brought her inside and wrapped her in a blanket. The kit blinked why was she doing this, was this normal? Melissa smiled at her, as she placed her near the fire to warm her up. "I am sorry i brought you in, but in that cold, you don't need to be catching a cold, im sure your family is missing you." She smiled as she put some cookies and milk beside her. The kit looked at the gesture and the looked up at her. "I ...um...don't have a family, im an orphan." She started to cry. Melissa's eyes swelled up, this young kit all alone in the world was unbearable. She just couldn't let that happen. "Well we have to get you back to orphanage, I dont want a search party after you." The kit nodded after she munch and gobbled her cookies and milk. Melissa and the young kit walked back to the orphanage, paw in paw. She was concerned for this young kits well being. When they reached the orphanage many kits were running around, trying to make fun, in their lives. Melissa was heartbroken. She walked up to the lady. "Hello my name is Melissa and I found..." Her words were cut off. "AKILA" A voice boomed behind the desk Melissa was standing in front of. "YOU RAN OFF. NO DINNER OR BREAKFAST FOR YOU. NOW GO CLEAN UP THAT KITCHEN YOU UNGRATEFUL PIECE OF TRASH!" Melissa stared at the woman, how dare she talk to a child like that. She stood there firm and looked at the woman. "Excuse you miss. Please don't talk to her like that, she is a child." The woman's voice sounded more manly, "Yes, a child, that needs to learn her place in the world." Her eyes narrowed on the kit. Melissa was getting very upset, "Anyways, I would like to adopt her and any others. You miss don't seem fit to be running an orphanage with such sweet and potential children, that make this world a better and fun place." She looked at her. The woman laughed with joy, "Yeah, you have fun with that tyke, and i will see you in months with you abandoning her." Melissa's mouth dropped, " I would never abandon any child. I love children and I would love to adopt them all if I could. Akila, I would like you to live with me. I would love to be your parent, your mother. Miss, I want Akila in my custody!" The woman left the desk and went to the backroom. From the lobby you could hear busting out laughter. This woman was completely insane. Melissa was serious she wanted Akila and many more that this woman abused! Melissa turned to little Akila that was standing behind her. She was shaking cause of the woman's rage. "Akila," Melissa spoke softly and pulled out a blue box with a white bow. "This is for you dear, go ahead and open it." The kit paused, a gift for her? Why her? Did this complete stranger really want her? She smiled and opened the gift. Inside the box was a golden heart locket, and when you opened it up it says, 'We choose out destiny, and I have chose you'. The kit's eyes filled with water and she cried. "Thank you." Melissa smiled, she knew that adopting a kit was the best thing in her life, and spending all love with her is what she needed, after all, the best things in life is each other.

I seek a child of my own!Owner of Parent: Aya-Firebird Parent's Name: Erdre Parent's Image: Image-- Owner of Child:Aya-Firebird Gift to Child: A teddy bear and a book RP Response:Erdre had been alone so long, two mates, leaving before she could be mother, all she really wanted was to be a mother. She wanted to care for someone and just not be alone. She approached the building carrying a small gift for a lonely child, it had taken her days to pick the perfect bear, it had been just right. She had brought a book of beautiful photographs of all the places she had either been or wanted to go. She knew what it was like to be alone and pictures of beautiful places had always allowed her to escape the lonely world and find someplace to go. As she entered the building she decided to be hopeful in spite of the last few years. She approached one child playing with a couple of blocks and decided to sit down and watch for a bit. the child seemed to be murmuring to himself about a magical forest. Erdre laughed gently. The little one looked up at her with tears in his eyes, "Why are you laughing at me?" he asked sadly Erdre frowned, mad at herself for upsetting him "I'm sorry child, I wasn't laughing at you, I was simply enjoying your imagination. I used to dream of magical forests and as I traveled the world, I was able to see such places" He looked at her "You've been to magical forests?" Erdre smiled, "Not necessarily magical, but they really seemed like it, would you like to see magical places? The little kit smiled shyly "Yes, I would love to go to magical places," his smile faded "but they are a game only, nobody ever wants me" Erdre put her arm gently around his shoulders and pulled the book she had brought closer, opening it "I have been to the top of this mountain, at sunset, the clouds over the cities below turn pink and everything looks like a magical fairy land." He looked at her with a smile "You've been there??" Erdre smiled, "Yes, would you like to go with me some time?" "ABSOLUTELY!!" Erdre gave the little one the teddy bear "I will be back for you, I promise" smiling as he cuddled the little bear, she walked up to the person who appeared to be caring for the orphaned kits "I would like to adopt him, he is an absolutely wonderful child."

We're adding to our family! Owner of First Parent: ShirouEn First Parent's Name: Phaedra First Parent's Image: [X] -- Owner of Second Parent: Strawberri Stardust Second Parent's Name: Mintesh Second Parent's Image: [X] -- Owner of Child: SkyDragono (we're gifting the kit <3)
Gift to Child: A bag of home-baked cookies RP Response: "Are you sure they're going to l-like me Phaedra?"
"I'm sure love, absoulutely."
The beautiful angelic smiled brightly as Mintesh struggled with his conflictions over adopting yet another into their family. They already had quite a big family of five children, two of wihch were actually adoptions. Yet all had grown up, and it seemed just a little more lonely around a fireplace without a young one shredding wrapping paper in the background. More than anything, the couple loved raising children, particularily children who didn't know the joys of loving, caring families. They both were fated to be part of families such as these. To relieve a child young of this displeasure.. Why what a feeling of joy it creates that so suits the expression of this glorious winter season.
Through all that, young Minty was still afraid. A horrible past still haunted him, shunned for his half-bredness that made him the ridicule of his own parents and kin. His one love was the only one he felt for sure would see him for the kind heart he held within. To say the least he had quite a few fits and breakdowns when bowls kept appearing at his feet.
Phaedra on the otherhand, loved new experiences more than anything, and more than that loved to help and encourage a frightened Mintesh to step up to their dreams. Shunned by her own family for her love of a demon, she accepted what her heart chose for her. Now if only another would let go of his cruel past and help himself.
Twice before they had adopted, but each time they were not pursuing adoption, but rather accepting it. Young Viserys was given to them by a cherished friend, and sweet Chinaberry was handed over by two very confused mothers. This time.. this time they were going to the children.
"Are you really sure?"
"I'm really sure!" She laughed, smiling and giving the nervous male a peck on the cheek. "You remember our gift?"
"O-of course!" Mintesh flushed deeply, but he smiled and from his tail rustled out a sloppily wrapped present. Neither of them were quite capable art-wise.. but a very delicious smell from the package gave a good feel to the rather messily tied baggie. They both gave gentle laughs before entering, a wide smile upon an angel's lips, a shy one behind a soft demon's.
At once they were overwhelmed by young kits. Everywhere there were small children searching for families, desperate for the love and affection they've been denied so long. Some were shy, some were lonely, some were excited, some were really just hungry, and after the sweet smell from Minty's tail. Mintesh yelped slightly at the onrush of little noodles crawling to his paws, his shy and self-destructive confidence quickly draining in the presence of so many children. He gazed to Phaedra for aid, and she laughed sweetly and cuddled with a kit as she scooted to him and gave him an encouraging nudge. His nerves eased, and he breathed again, smiling weakly. How ever did he get along before he had this love?
He looked around, and gently nosed a kit, tickling them without meaning to and flushing as he realized when the kit squealed and giggled in delight. "W-what's your name?" He asked, smiling shyly at the one who curled up in a fit of giggles. The little kit stopped and blinked, and smiled happily, chirping in a sing song voice.
"I don't have one!" The young one laughed and hopped happily, and then sniffed at Mintesh, intrigued by the delicious smell. "What's that'cha got there mister?" The little one skipped and giggled, and even crawled onto Mintesh's back to try and snatch at the wrapped present in his tail. The flustered demonic yelped and couldn't help but spaz, wiggling his tail out of reach and miserably failing at calming himself down to get the young kit off his back. "W-wait! H-hold on, hold on I-I'll show you!" He chimed, flushing as he wiggles, the other kits giggling at his behavior.
Phaedra laughed softly as she set down the young one in her own arms, smiling as she flutters over and gently picks up the kit by the scruff, and setting the little one down back on solid ground. "You shouldn't crawl on things like that. You could get hurt." She warned with a loving smile, giving the kit a nuzzle. The flustered demonic sighed in relief and smiled weakly, nodding, and then slowly setting down the package before the kit.
"Here.. as I promised."
The excited child squealed in delight and instantly pulled off the messy ribbon, blinking and then skipping in delight as the scent of freshly baked cookies filled the air. "Oh wow! This is great! Is it for me mister, miss's?" The couple smiled dearly and gave cheerful giggles, before looking to one another and nodding.
"Go ahead, please." At once the kit smiled and took a nom on one of the cookies. Seconds later it had bounded off with a cookie muffled 'Thank you', sharing the gift with the others. Phaedra gave a smile and looked up to Mintesh, who was still watching the kit.
"You've grown fond of the little one.."
"Y-you noticed?" He gave a flustered smile.
"Only a lot." They shared sweet giggles together, the room filled with the scent of cookies, and the warmth of a new bond in the holiday season.
"Excuse us ma'am."
"We'd.. we'd like to adopt."

I seek a child of my own!Owner of Parent: Infinite Nebulae Parent's Name: Rael Parent's Image: Image-- Owner of Child: Infinite Nebulae Gift to Child: A toy dragonfly with light up wings. RP Response: Rael knew he wasn't supposed to want a kit. He was single, no potential mates in sight, and still young. But he wanted one more than anything. He had loved children from the second he recognized them as that, and he as an "adult." He knew he'd make a good father, even if he had his quirks. He was a bit silly, and sometimes childish too, but, a kit to raise and give a family to, one to love and in return feel the love from it. Rael wanted that more than anything.
He had been adopted into a family that showered so much love upon him, he felt that the shimmer in his wings were because he was ignited with so much love. He had so much of it to give, he wanted to pay it forward and take a life in, and give them the best of the best of lives. He wanted to be that hero, that he saw his adopted family as. He knew each and every child at the adoption center deserved more than what they were given. He would make sure that one would be given everything they ever dreamed of if Rael could physically do it!
He played with the toy dragonfly, watching its wings light up, much like the ones on his own back. He sighed, wondering if anyone would see him worth deserving a child of his own. "I'd be a great dad..." he whispered to himself.
He put the toy down and stared at it. His pink nose only inches away from it. "If I had a kit, we'd go on adventures. I'd take him or her fishing, swimming, to the park, or we'd go into the forest and play survival! We'd have the best time little one." Rael felt his eyes p***k, a sign that he was about to cry. He knew he could do this a traditional way. He could find a woman, or a man and they could fall in love and have children. But while he wanted that greatly, he just wanted to take care of someone. He had been the one always taken care of as a child, and now, it was his turn to give a wonderful life to someone else, who didn't have the family he had.
He wanted to be the family that made this child the happiest thing on the planet. "I'd give you everything."
He sighed heavily as he rolled over. He needed to wrap this present and drop it off at the adoption center. He hoped that a child would want to go home with him. He prayed with all his tiny, beating heart. His wings sputtered a bit in excitement and wishful thinking.
Maybe, just maybe. He'd be able to be the best dad on the planet, that he could possibly be. He rolled back over, looking at the green gift wrap bag. He wanted to make this bag not just a bag, but a home of its own. He lovingly placed the dragonfly toy inside, and stuffed the bag with sparkling gift tissue. He looked to the bag, analyzing his handiwork.
"Today, I give a gift, tomorrow, I give my soul to the child wishing to be my own."

I seek a child of my own! Owner of Parent: Doodle p***s/Ovarian Paint Parent's Name: Lady Amarantha Cromwell Parent's Image: Image -- Owner of Child: Doodle p***s/Ovarian Paint Gift to Child: Lady's oldest book of fairy tales. RP Response: It was a cold night, snow dusting the street as she closed up shop. A small little book store, one that held all her pride and joy as she had no family to share it with herself, her fathers death and her mothers well..Lady shrugged her shoulders as she swept her tail behind her, about to take off for the night. The holiday season filled Lady with mixed feelings, she loved all the smells, sights and sounds that came with it, but the lonely ache that nibbled away at her heart some nights made the season almost unbearable. She missed her father, his big booming voice so full of life and love, she could almost feel his embrace again, him sitting with her beside the fire..She shook her head, blinking quickly as she felt her key slip out of her paws. Though, she looked down when she didnt hear it hit the sidewalk, and there it seemed to be a small kit, he seemed to have fallen asleep outside her shop, she tilted her head before she looked around. Not a soul seemed to be out tonight, what was he doing here? She thought as she looked down once more. With a gentle paw, she nudged him. "Wake up small one..wake up." She said kindly as she opened a single wing to block away the wind from his tiny body. "Your parents must be frantic, I'll take you home."The kit opened his eyes, and stared up at her in a mixture of awe and horror, he'd been caught! He had been listening to her read Christmas stories to other kits like she did every Christmas eve, but never had he been so tired before. He shook his head at her when she mentioned parents. When he didnt use a vocal reply, Lady's heart almost broke in two. He didnt have parents? "Surely you must have some family." She said as she glance around once more. Another shake of his head. "Well then.." Lady said with a gentle paw, she scooped him up. He struggled for a minute, fearful she would take him to the police, but when she opened the door to her shop, he froze. Looking up at her with questioning eyes, she simply smiled. "A fire and a cup of coco is what you need." She said as she set him down in a chair beside the fireplace, turning to leave him for naught but a minute, she handed him a cup of coco before bringing a fire to life. Climbing into the other chair, she watched him as he sipped his coco. Reaching down into the pocket of her skirts, she pulled out what looked to be an old ratty book. "Would you like a story?" She asked, and before she knew it, his small body was against her side, she smiled. "Once upon a time..." She started, as she knew this would be the Christmas to stay with her forever...this is what she had been missing all Holiday season.

I seek a child of my own! Owner of Parent: lux_rayne13 Parent's Name: Yukii Parent's Image: Image -- Owner of Child: lux_rayne13 Gift to Child: polar bear plushie, missing one eye and worn out RP Response: Yukii sighed. It was the holiday season again, the time of giving and Christmas cheer. Goodie. Yukii never was one for holiday spirit, he'd grown up on the streets as a thief and a menace with no idea where his family was. This year, he decided that, even though these kits were not on the streets, they were alone and sad like he was and he knew he could change that for one kit at least. Brrr. The snow. He hated snow. When he was a kit he loved it, but now it just made him miserable. During the day it was wet and slushy and soaked his fur, during the night it hardened to ice and made for some sore hindquarters and a bruised up tail. Sure, he missed making snowmen and having snowball fights and chasing snow flakes, but he never had time for that any more. Well, until recently. Recently, he'd come back to his home town. Recently, he'd found himself a home. Recently, he decided it was high time he did for a kit what he wished had been done for him. This was the reason he was heading to the orphanage, a little white polar bear tucked in his collar. It was a very special bear. As a kit, and even now, his favorite drink was Coca-Cola. Maybe it was the fizziness of it, or the smooth taste, or the fact that their colors matched his fur, but he'd even gone so far as to get the name tattooed on his tail. It seemed... fitting. He was a Coca-Cola Noodle, no doubt about it. Yukii had stumbled into the factory part of a city one day after fleeing from a pizza shop, and a human had found him munching a slice behind one of the trash bins. Turns out, the human worked for the humans that made Coca-Cola. He was throwing out polar bear plushies that weren't good enough to sell, and gave one to little Yukii. Years later, that bear was torn and tattered and missing one eye, but it was well loved and the only possession the Noodle had. It was the perfect gift -and the only physical one- that he could give to a kit. Nearing the orphanage yard, the male could see kits playing and tumbling around in the still falling snow. He knew it was crazy, him, a male, a single male wanting to adopt a kit. But... Yukii wanted to give a kit what he never had, and now that he could he felt it was only right. Watching them play and laugh, he really knew it was right. Those kits looked so full of energy and joy, even in the sad world they were living in. It made the Noodle's heart swell just to watch them... TWAP!Yukii had padded into the yard, and was promptly smacked with a ball of white coldness. Startled, he stumbled sideways and looked wildly around, only to see wide little eyes peeking out from behind a bush. "Hey," Yukii smiled, "That wasn't very nice..." He padded over to get a better look, but as he neared the little fluffer sprung out of hiding, bounced off Yukii's back, and took off laughing. Yukii yipped as he was flattened, then picked himself out of the snow and stared off after the fleeing tail. Well. He certainly wouldn't be giving his bear to that one. His bear... With wide eyes his paw flew to his collar. The bear! That little runt stole it! Freaked out, Yukii began searching the entire yard for the kit, checking in trees and behind bushes, scanning ever kit in sight, getting beaned with more snowballs than he could count, and not even noticing the snickering Noodle by the orphanage door. Finally, Yukii found the kit behind the same bush he'd seen it earlier. Creeping slowly, he leaned over and peeked at the kit. A small smile slid across his face as he saw the little one trying desperately to replace the missing eye with a nut, a leaf and vine bandage already covering the tear in its leg. When the kit realized it was being watched, it let out a squeak and tried to flee again. Yukii quickly snatched it by its scruff, earning a yelp and a string of apologies. He sat the critter down and placed a paw to hold it gently in place. "I'd very much like my bear back." Yukii smiled, trying to be patient. "No." The kit held tightly to the bear. Yukii blinked. "Little one, that bear is very special to me. It is mine, not yours, and I'd like it back." This time he put a little sternness in his tone, which made the kit squirm. "Make a snowman with me.""Wha-?" The male was taken by surprise. A snowman...? "Make a snowman with me and I'll give the bear back." The kit was looking down and mumbling, but peeked out from its bangs up at Yukii. Yukii sighed. "Alright. One snowman. A small one. Deal?" When the kit nodded he lifted his paw. The kit sat there for a second, then started scooping snow together with his paws, the bear dangling in his mouth. Yukii had to laugh, the bear was about half the size of the kit! With the Noodle at the doors looking on, the two created a snowman together. The creation ended up bigger than Yukii had intended, he even lifted up the kit to place the head, and helped find nuts and twigs to decorate it. By the time they were done, both Noodles were dusted with snow, flushed in the cheeks, and grinning ear to ear. It was the most fun Yukii had ever had since his own kit hood. It didn't take long before the grin faded from the kits face, though. "I... I... Here." The kit shoved the bear at Yukii. "A deal is a deal. Um... Thanks... that was... fun..." The kit bit its lip and looked away. Yukii looked at the kit, then at the bear. A realization dawned on Yukii as he looked around at the others. He didn't think anything of it before, but this kit had been by itself until Yukii had come. It had stolen to bear to have a playmate... even tried to fix the bear, too... Yukii shook his head and shoved the bear back. "Nah, I got a better idea." He stood up, shook himself off, and padded over to the Noodle by the door. "I'd like to adopt a kit," He said to the head Noodle. "I know I'm a male, and don't have the mothering instinct, but I was alone as a kit and I want to give someone a better life than that." The Noodle smiled at Yukii and looked at the space by his tail. The male turned, and saw the kit sitting there, having followed him, with wide, tear-filled eyes, a joyous grin, and the tattered but loved polar bear clutched tightly in its paws. "You're taking me h-home?" The kit squeaked, throat tight. "Yes, little one." Yukii smiled happily. "I'm taking you home~"
