"You're no trouble little one." He sighed. "Of course you may stay. May I just ask you how you had a feeling of abandonment ? I mean, what if they had to leave your nest in a rush from something?" He looked at the kit that he brought home. "It's fine if you don't want to tell me."

She looked up at him shaking her little head slightly. "No... Mama and Daddy left me there a few day's ago..." She looked away from the other watching the water not knowing anything other than the fact that her parent's had abandoned her egg and left her there. she didn't know how she had sensed them or the other kitsu that had left her egg there in the snow.
The thing that had probably saved her was the fact that the Snow had made a little cave over the egg and kept her egg insulated. Looking back over at him she smiled. "I'm really allowed to stay? You won't leave me? You will let me stay with you?"

He blinked. "Maybe if I find her parents..." he thought. Nodding, he said, "Of course you may stay. I'll never leave you." He was wondering if he could actually provide everything she needed - he was a loner, hence he did not have friends. A kit was typically surrounded by its littermates but this one lost her's. "Say, you don't mind it just being you and me right?" He wondered if he said it right, for this was his first time taking care of another. "I mean...is it fine with you if you rarely see other kitsus for a while?"

She smiled looking up at him. "I don't mind! I really don't I can play with you just fine!"She nodded looking up at him. "I like it here with you, I don't want to be around anyone else." After she said this she took a few tentative steps in the snow , pouncing on little mounds of it making sure to not get more than a few feet away from Shattervein. Getting scared slightly by a branch in the snow she rushed back over to Shattervein, deciding it was safer to stay next to him. "You will be my new Papa right?"

He was surprised at what she asked of him. A father? He'd never thought that he would be one, just thought he would raise her until she was able to defend for herself and start a family. Maybe that was what a father was. He did not know. "Yes, I'll be your new father." he said comforting Sunokissui with his large velvety but furry paws.

She gave a soft coo nestleing herself against his paws. Looking up at him she smiled nuzzling against his paw. "Thank you Papa!" She smiled once more before going to investigate the stick that had scared her before. "Papa, Papa! What's this?" There was a little bud of green on the stick which was actually a young tree that had pushed over due to the heavy snow's now that the show was being pushed off the tree had sprung up from where it was laying as healthy as can be.
Looking up at her new father her ears moved curiously as did her tails. Not moving over to him she sat at the base of the young tree waiting for him to get up and tell her what it was. "Papa?"

He laughed walking up to the discovery his kit found. "That young one, is called a twig. Seems like the snow and wind buried the res of its body underneath." He began to dig a little further, showing more of the tree. "If you take good care of this tree, it'll grow big and strong like how you would grow up to be one day. Take care of it like how you would take care of yourself." He wanted the kit so learn that she too, was a parent to another part of nature.

She nodded looking at the sapling and trying to think of a way to take care of the sapling. "Papa? How do I take care of it? It there a special way I have to take care of it?" She wanted to help the sapling grow big and strong the way she was going to. Bouncing on the snow around its base trying to get it to go away some. "Will the snow hurt it Papa? I don't want the snow to hurt it." At this point she was attaching what happened to her onto the tree and wanting to keep it safe. "The snow won't be to cold for it right?" The sapling was going to be something easy for her to take care of and watch grow there was not much to do for it other than making sure it got water but as it was next to a lake that was taken care of.

"You can come visit it every day telling it that you will love it forever no matter how it will look like in the future. Maybe tell it about your day or adventures or dreams?" He shook his head. "Snow will not harm the tree, though it might get cold and lonely at times." He was enjoying seeing her having so much concern for the tree, like if the tree was her life or so.

She nodded looking at him. "I can do that! But for now can we go to the tree? I'm tired.... Really tired." She smiled looking at the little sapling. "I will be back to talk to you tomorrow okay! I will help you grow big and strong!" She turned away from the sapling then instead turning to the dragon kitsu. "Papa I'm starting to get cold again." She trusted her papa to take care of this, to lead her somewhere warm, and to keep her safe and warm. She looked up at him, her wide purple eye's trusting and calm.

Shattervein looked up at the sky, yes the clouds were starting to form again. "Yes, let's head back to the burrow so that you can stay nice and warm at home." He looked to where his place of shelter was and headed that direction flickering his tail in a way for his kit to know to follow.
"Just follow me and everything will be alright." He knew it was probably irresponsible for him to leave her traveling in the weather, but he wanted her to also warm up quicker than just waiting to be out of the cold. "Would you like me to accompany you when you visit the sapling tomorrow?"

She nodded following him back to the shelter, hopping and bouncing in snow all the while. looking up at him she smiled nodding softly to him. "I want you to visit the sapling with me tomorrow." Walking and running around the way she was as she followed him was helping her warm up a lot so she was just fine with having to walk behind her papa. It made her feel like a big kitsu.

Though he wasn't the actual father, Shattervein felt as if the two were destined to meet this way. He felt accomplished of saving its life and giving it a new start in life too. "I'm glad you let me.", he said smiling. After a short while, the two reached their destination - the burrow entrance.
"Well here we are." He spoke as he touched the entrance, moving aside for the kit. "You can go in first. The back is usually the warmest so I'll stay near he entrance to prevent much of the breeze from entering."

She nodded moving into the tree and letting a soft smile grace her face at the warmth inside of the tree looking up at her papa as she curled up in the back of the hollow she waited for him to come inside not going to fall asleep until he had moved inside the hollow as well. It was large enough for both of them to fit which was nice.

Welcomed by the scent of warm wood, the dragon kitsu yawned walking close to its young. He then layed down, head facing Sunokissui, waiting for her to doze off.
